The little creature padded onto the battlefield. He'd been told not to worry, but...was that true? Would he really be just fine? He was so weak...

Krii wasn't too sure what to make of this. On one hand, here was a match he was being allowed to fight in! Sure, he didn't like to brag (much), but he was rumored to be one of the most powerful creatures in Evelon. He was too strong for most pets to handle! On the other hand... he was jobbing it, and he knew it. He was here as part of some sort of science experiment. Could you really even call that a "fight?" Jimmy had agreed to it, but he wasn't sure if he should feel miffed or not.

I mean, look at his opponent! If this had been real, it'd be a massacre. He felt downright sorry for the poor critter. One thing was sure--he was going pillow-soft on this little guy.

Well, he'd better make his move then, hadn't he? He decided he'd just do a simple, easy claw-scratch. His nails were pretty dull anyway. Lunging forward, he sought out to gently graze the Kuni's side.

The Kuni squealed in surprise as the monkey lunged towards him. Thinking fast, he leapt up slightly, in an attempt to chomp down on its paw before he was hit. If he was lucky, he would be able to grab it and hang on.

Owww! What the...? He missed! And the little bug bit his finger! Krii flailed around madly, trying to shake him off. He backed up into a corner. He got bit! Bit! Talk about undignified... Well, he wasn't going to miss this time! He reared up, but this time, one of his agile back feet shot forward. Having opposable toes was a benefit in and of itself.

Hey! He'd hit! The Kuni grinned, and lunged forwards again. He was going for the face this time! Maybe the monkey would miss him again. He sure hoped it would-that would give him a much better chance of winning.

(You already know the hit rates, so I'm not going to bother recaculating those.)

Ha! He'd managed to get out of the way this time. No biting here! But that little tetch had STILL managed to dodge him. Maybe the little wimp wasn't as easy as he thought! A fireball flamed around his tail, but then he remembered. Still going easy! Well, maybe direct attacks still weren't servicing him... He'd throw a rock instead. See if that worked.

A rock? Well, it was better than what monkeys usually threw at people who were bothering them. The Kuni hissed, bracing himself to roll out of the way of the rock. If that succeeded, he'd be right at the feet of the Rengosett. No way he could miss a bite then!

Yeeeoooowch! Not only had he completely missed, the fish-boy snuck up on him and clamped down on his toe! Krii was hopping up and down like a madape, trying to shake the Kuni off. He shrieked and howled. "Get off get off get OFF! That's my walkin' foot!

No playing around, now! The Kuni was right there. He swiped at him angrily, forgoing words in favor of a more primal screech.

Flung a slight distance away, the Kuni quickly scrambled up, rushing forwards again. This big ol' monkey didn't seem so tough now! He ducked in an attempt to avoid the scratching claw, while at the same time lunging forwards in an attempt to get onto that claw and "ride" it to safety.

Krii rolls for a hit.

(I'm not going to bother with the damage-calculation rigmarole here. We all know it'll be a miss; it's impossible for him TO hit unless he uses Pyro.)

Krii managed to scramble away from another bite, but he wasn't sure what to do. He was in a primal stance, all his hair on end, and his incisors bared.

"Just one good hit," he muttered. "Just one and this little wimp goes down." Tail-flare... but no! This wasn't a fish-fry. Well, one more shot. If he didn't make this one, he would concede. Not that he didn't think he could take this runt, but he was tired of this wild goose-chase.

The Kuni was tempted to taunt his opponent, but decided that it was a silly idea. Instead, he lunged forwards in an attempt to bite again. It was, after all, the only thing he could do.

(And I thought Pyro just gave a +5 to your damage 8D)

((I'm pretty sure it does a straight 5 damage... but there's no comprehensive guide available for regular users, so.))

We all know what Krii does by now.

Feeling one last chomp-down, Krii growled and shook his tail. "That's it!" He turned to face the Kuni. "That's it, I quit, no more! I'm out the door!" He spun around, his tail an orange blaze. "And also I'm a poet and don't know it! You win, kid. Revel in your victory." Under his breath, the Rengosett murmured several less-than-pleasant things, though thankfully directed at no one in particular.

He...won? He'd won? Well, actually, he'd worn his opponent down, but that was pretty much the same thing to him. He'd won! Now who was up next? He'd heard that he'd have to fight more than one opponent...

(I remember in the Arena battle with Fei it added +5 to damage...)

What was he doing here?

No, seriously--what the heck was he doing here? He had enough of fighting things whenever Nara and Karen dragged him out. Did he really need any more of that? Already the folks from the TV station were wondering what was going on with him. Every day he showed up, he looked a little more haggard and a little more worn. He was pretty sure he had a permanent scar on one of his ears by now. So what was he doing, really?

Well, guess he'd find out. He was supposed to be fighting some little Kuni fellow. Didn't look too tough. But then again, if he knew anything, it was that looks were decieving...

Oh no! Not another one! This one actually looked a little less tough than that monkey, but that wand...it looked zappy. And if the Kuni knew anything, he knew that electricity could hurt him pretty bad. So he lunged forward, intending to latch onto one of the rabbit's ears. Maybe it would keep missing, like that monkey had. It was a good hope...
