The Kuni gulped at seeing the scraping hooves. He didn't want to be caught under them! Once more, he leapt into the air, hoping to land over the Penticorn's eyes. If he could block its vision, it might successfully crash into the wall or something!

Where was he? Where was he going? Who turned out the lights!? Suddenly everything was dark! Odhran stopped in mid-charge, hooves fumbling to find the ground. He was blind! Blind! He smelled dampness and shook his head around. Of course! The Kuni! An attack! He had to get that guy off! Somehow.

Odhran bucked, throwing his back and head around in a wild, sinuous wave.

(Is it weird that the first thing I thought of was a sine wave? And then I thought, "Wow, where did he learn math?")

Yes! He'd hit! The Kuni was about to do a little wiggling dance, when suddenly the Penticorn began to weave his head around. Arggh! He clung on tighter, using both claws and teeth in a desperate attempt to grip onto the Penticorn's face.

Not only did the Kuni hold on tight, he sunk into his forehead![/b] Those little claws [i]hurt! Of course, in actual pain, he had no idea what to do anymore. He just ran around crazily. He'd probably trip over something. Maybe if he did, it'd get this guy OFF!

Yes! He'd hurt his opponent! But this was making the Penticorn even crazier...Praying he wouldn't be thrown, the Kuni tried to scramble up where he could get a grip on the Penticorn's mane. Maybe that would make staying on easier...

Odhran stumbled to a stop. No matter what he did, he just couldn't get that little fellow off!

"Alright!" he squeaked. He lowered his head, letting the Kuni hop off. "Alright! I give. You win, little guy. I can't see, you're not letting go, and I can't win like this. Not to mention, actually GETTING you is impossible. ...Not mch of a fighter anyway, me..."

He'd won again? The Kuni let go and slid to the floor, feeling much better. He felt like he could take on anything, now! Anything at all! Let them send in the next opponent! He'd show them what-for!

After that brief interlude, with other fighters (and one from neither the Caravan nor the Ranch,) Hazel bubbled along with excitement. Her first real fight! She wasn't as strong as Krii, no, but she had heart and she planned to put it to good use.

What a cute little Kuni! He looked like a fiery little fellow. She worried about his attacks dousing her flames. She'd just have to stand tall, then!

Well, here was another one. She was obviously a firey type-he thought she wouldn't be too much trouble. He lunged forward, ready to make the first move for once.

Hazel jumped out of the way quickly. She wasn't going to be caught off-guard this time. She jumped into a hover and glided overhead to the other side of the arena. She shook herself. She felt on top of things now!

Dang! The Kuni lunged upwards, trying to launch himself into the air. He wouldn't be taken down so easily!

Ouch! Hazel felt the Kuni's claws graze her arm. And he was a tough little fellow! She felt them sink deep. She'd be wearing that scratch for a while. Scowling, she turned back. She raised her claws to strike.

Gulp! He backed up, claws scraping the ground, then lunged upwards. He hoped to fasten onto her face, similar to what he had done to the others. That seemed a viable strategy.

Ironically, Hazel had seen this trick. It had worked on Odhran pretty well. She'd prepped herself, however. As soon as she felt the Kuni latch on, she stopped. And she tried to get him on the face, directly on his back. She'd shake him off for sure!

Oh dear. Had she seen this trick already? Anyways, then he'd double-out-think her. He quickly lept further forwards, trying to bite into her neck instead. Not anywhere too near the jugular-he didn't want to kill anyone. But he didn't want to get shaken off either.
