Tawny nodded at everyone's introduction. She watched as 7 made her way onto Clive's hand and eventually his shoulder. She smiled slightly as the tiny creature was confused as to what the red was. She laughed slightly to herself and then watched everyone argue about getting ready to go. Tavros seemed skittish along with the man in the cowboy hat. She sighed, and walked into her house. She walked up stairs and opened the closet that was filled to the brim with guns and other various weapons.

She grabbed a few guns, and a bow and arrow for herself. She walked out with a lot of ammo and guns for all of them that needed it. She dropped them on the ground, slinging her arrow and her sheath on her back. She smiled at her own weapons. A shotgun, a sniper rifle, a pistol and a revolver were the ones that sat on top. Two of each. "So... Who needs a weapon?" She said with a smile.

Johnathan smiled as the others gawked at the pile of stuff in the middle of the group. Terezi frowned slightly, and Eridan blinked. He thought he was better off with his wand for the moment, but he would switch over to his gun if he had to. The Spy twitched slightly with excitement. "Ze's are zome rather nice gunz. I would love to take zome for my zelf, but I have my own gunz if the gray one would let me have zhem back," He said, slightly pointed at her.

Terezi rolled her eyes. "I guess you can get your gun and stuff back, AS LONG as you PROMISE not to kill anyone your not supposed to, or I'll kill you myself," She said with a look, that even through her dead eyes, made the Spy think twice about whatever plan he had. He nodded with a swallow and grabbed his gun, knife, and his cigarette box from her and put them where they belonged. "So, grab your weapons and we'll head out! We need to get going before it gets dark if we want a better chance of living," Jonathan said with a rare smile on his face. He pulled up his cloak and headed towards the edge of the clearing.

Clive stepped up slowly and grabbed a rather handsome-looking gun, he thought, with a long barrel and lightweight frame. He glanced at 7 on his shoulder. "You probably can't use anything in this pile," he chuckled. 7 scowled and made a quick jabbing motion at the air with her spear. "Oh. Right," he said, eyes flicking back to his hand. "That."

Tavros hung back, staring at the pile of guns with uncertainty. "Uh, do you have any... uh, swords, or something?" he asked tentatively. Swords are really cool, Tavros thought. All the best heroes use swords.

"I don't see any swords," Clive said, bending down to the gun pile again. He picked up a small pistol, very lightweight and probably not much kick-back. "Here, try this. You don't have to use it unless you get in trouble, and it shouldn't be that hard to handle." The blue-clad man dropped the gun in Tavros' lap, and the troll boy touched it carefully. After several seconds he picked it up and held it slightly away from him, as if worried it could go off at any moment.

Tavros took a loaf of bread and handed it to Clive. "Here, e-everyone should take some," he said, wheeling over to the other members of the group and passing out one loaf of bread each.

Clive broke off a small piece and held it up to 7. "I figure you probably don't need as much."

7 blinked and poked the bread with her spear. "What do I do with this?" she muttered, unimpressed. "It doesn't look like it'd be a very good shield..."

"You... don't eat?" Clive murmured, raising an eyebrow at the doll creature. "I suppose that makes sense..." He quickly popped the piece of bread in his mouth and shrugged, causing 7 to stumble and cling to the collar of his jacket. She shot him a hot glance. "Sorry," he chuckled, clearing his throat. "Once everyone else has eaten, it's time we move deeper into the forest."

"I'm quite well outfitted, thank you," Double H said. He eye the pile nervously--he never let his trusty T-Hammer stray far from his side, but what did you think of someone who kept so many weapons around? Even to the soldier, it seemed excessively warlike. He pulled out his hammer and shield for demonstrative purposes for a minute, then put them away.

"I feel pretty good too, thanks," Cora agreed. She waved her staff. "I know a couple good spells. I can defend myself, at any rate. So I won't be needing any." She shied away herself from the pile.

Of the three, Calvin seemed the least comfortable. He hugged his jacket to himself, frowning. "I suppose I should take something to defend myself with, but I'm not comfortable with most weapons. Like I told you, I don't enjoy hurting people."

Double H reached into the pile, digging and rummaging, until he procured something tan and black. A rubber mallet. He put it in Calvin's arms. Calvin seemed to understand hammers, at least--he gave it a few test swings. "At least I've used these things before," he sighed.

"It's made of rubber, so it should be non-fatal. But a few good blows will deter an assailant. But as we discussed before--stay behind me."

"Yes sir, Mr. Soldier," Calvin agreed.

I'm so clean (too bad I can't get all the dirt off of me)!
I'm so sane (It's driving me crazy)!
It's so strange
I can't believe I'm falling for the first time!

Tawny nodded at everyone who was getting her weapons. She watched the others, and then she looked at Tavros. She nodded at him for a bit, and then walked into the house, searching for a sword that would fit the crippled boy well. She found a short, sort of, jousting sword and brought it out, handing it to the boy. "This might suit you better than that gun you have there," She said. She moved over to the gun pile and equipped herself with four guns. Two shotguns and two pistols.

Johnathan grabbed a pistol, just to be on the safe side and helped Tawny bring all of the guns back into the house. Before they left, she stopped him. "Hey... John?" She said, looking at the ground. Johnathan raised an eyebrow and then said, "Yeah?" She bit her lip and hugged herself. She didn't want to be the bearer of bad news. "You.. You remember that creature that attacked us as kids?" She asked.

Johnathan sighed. He remembered it all to vividly. It was big and brown with unseeing eyes. Slowly ripping off the flesh of those who came into it's territory. It have managed to have taken a chunk out of his shoulder, an odd dent was left ever since. Johnathan nodded slowly. "Yes.. I do... Why do you ask?" She took a quick gulp of air and then looked at him in the eyes. "That beast is still out there. I went to try and hunt it and came back with a large scar across my whole torso... We need to make sure this thing doesn't get the others. Are you sure your prepared for this?" She said.

He nodded slowly and then smiled. "We'll kick this things butt this time around! Promise!" He said, patting her on the shoulder. She smiled back and walked back out of her cabin. The others were eating they're bread and Tawny smiled. "Okay, There is one beast out there... Deeper in the forest. It's ruthless and will not hesitate to kill you in one bite. It's one of the largest creatures I've seen in my life. You need to be prepared ta shoot and kill. Not games, just straight killing. This thing can't be taken down by a mere two people, so watch out,"  She said.

Once everyone had finished they're bread, Tawny smiled slightly, ready to get on with this journey. Eridan smiled and Terezi stretched, heading over to Tavros. The Spy looked around and then grabbed a cigarette out from his pack and began to smoke it. Terezi sent him a nasty glance and then he sighed. Tawny nodded and then began heading towards the edge of the clearing. "Off we go!" She said with a sly smile. Terezi walked over tot eh Spy as he made his way after Tawny. "Don't push it okay?" She said, with a poke. He sighed. "Fine, Fine, you crazy....... Thing," He said.

Terezi walked over to Tavros and then said, "You gonna be okay Tavros? I don't want you to chicken out or be killed for that matter," She said with a frown. Eridan walked over and patted Terezi on the back. "We'll be fine Ter! I'm sure Tav can take care of himself," He gave her a reassuring smile and then kept walking.

Once they made they're way deeper and deeper into the forest, they made it to a long clearing, that had a simple spring in the middle of it. It was a completely straight line, up and down, and no noise could be heard. In front of them laid a deep dark pine forest that just looked menacing. A fountain was next to them. She took a deep gulp. She hated this crossing. She heard a faint rustling on leaves from in front of them, and every muscle in Tawny's body tightened. She muttered a few cusses under her breath and then took the Spy's cigarette out of him mouth, smashing it to the ground.

"It knows where here. No smoking, and no noises. It knows where we are headed, and I'm really not liking it. We should be safe right here, but we have to go into the other side soon... Lets get some water and a rest before the battle," She said. A deep low growl could be heard from in front of them, but it was far away. Tawny walked over to the spring and took a drink.

Tavros broke out into a grin as Tawny handed him a sword, and immediately dropped the gun into his bread bag... just in case Clive was right about needing it for survival. But swords were so much cooler, Tavros thought.

Clive waited for Tawny and Johnathan to come back out of the house, and turned his attention toward the woods. There was definitely something ominous about it, perhaps the lack of light penetrating through the thick leaves, or the musty smell, or the way the branches intertwined in confusing, complicated ways, but something was very off about the forest. Even Tawny had looked a bit unnerved, and his suspicions were confirmed once she exited her house and rejoined the group.

"I-in one b-b-bite?!" Tavros squeaked, nearly dropping his sword. J-just pretend it's a game of Fiduspawn, Tavros thought to himself, shrinking into his wheelchair nervously. You just... kill the monsters, and gain experience, a-and then you can get out of the dark, s-scary... He cleared his throat to keep himself from squeaking in fear again, and gripped his sword tightly.

Clive's expression was dark and serious. "Then we must stay together," he muttered softly. "If this creature is as large and dangerous as you say, getting separated is not an option."

Tavros and Clive, with 7 riding on the latter's shoulder, followed the group through the forest cautiously. There was no sign of the beast yet, and soon they reached a rather scenic clearing with a fountain. And yet, Tawny still looked on edge.

"S-so, this, um... thing," Tavros stuttered as Tawny smashed Spy's cigarette into the dirt. "W-what does it look like, exactly?"

Clive followed the blonde girl to the spring and took a few drinks of water himself, then glanced at 7, who shook her head. "Humans need food and water to live, apparently, but I don't, and as far as I know, 9, 3, and 4 don't either." Clive was about to inquire about the new names, probably of her friends, but decided it was best to keep as quiet as possible.

"Trust me, you do not know what I've been up against," Cora said cockily. "I'm sure I can handle a monster. It's nothing compared to a stitchborg. ...No offense, little guy," she added hastily, towards 7. If that little creature really wasn't of Arabesque, she probably shouldn't go out of her way to drag it through the mud.

She did not add that she'd only defeated the Stitchborg with the aid of a full-grown dragon. They didn't need to know that.

Double H, upon hearing about the beast, blustered as well. The difference between them, she thought, was that Double H was someone you could believe when he bragged: "Sounds ferocious! Similar to a pterilomax, or a Reaper, or even a DomZ Serpent. But it's nothing I can't handle. Would any of the rest of you here like a Personal Accelerator? I can share a few. They extend your body's natural limits."

Calvin walked besides the wheelchair-bound Tavros, and smiled at the frightened boy. Paternal instincts swelled up inside him, and he tried to laugh. "Don't worry, kid," he said. "I'm scared, too. We can be scared together. You probably didn't want to come here either, huh?"

As the fountain came into view, Cora sighed. "Hey. This place doesn't look half bad."

Double H craned his head around warily. "I sense something is amiss..."

((OR OR OR I'll forget and get home at 9. My bad guys.))

Tawny growled slightly at Cora. She was just trying to look bigger. This thing that they had to face was probably something worse than the others had ever seen. She sighed slightly as everyone kept asking questions. She didn't have the patience to do such a thing. She looked at Tavros and watched as the sightless troll followed her gaze over to her friend. Terezi walked over to Tavros and gave him a reassuring hug.

"Everything will be fine Tavros! We'll make it out alive and everything will be fine alright?" She said with a smile that was covering a thousand lies. She Didn't want him to be scared. She 'looked' over to Eridan. She sniffed slightly and knew he was switching to his Ahabs Crosshairs. She nodded and broke her cane up into the string and the small pieces that served as nun chucks.

She walked back over to Tawny. Tawny smiled at her slightly and then stretched. Johnathan sighed next to her, not really wanting to face the thing that took a chunk out of his shoulder. "So, It's time to head out! Please be cautious and no TALKING. It has no eyes but it see's with it's noes and ears. Please, try your hardest to be quiet, and absolutely stick together," She said. The Blu spy nodded. Johnathan sighed and followed after her as they made they're way towards the dark half of the forest.

A happy growl sounded from in front of them, but farther away. Tawny took a deep breath and headed in towards the beast that would hopefully not eat her alive. She looked around at the group, giving them a reassuring smile though in her heart, it was full of fear and other things. She made her way deeper, Johnathan by her side and the rest of the group hopefully behind her.

They got deeper and deeper and made it to a small clearing with a shrine in the middle. Tawny smiled happily. She found what she was looking for! She found it and the demon hadn't even attacked them! She smiled happily and walked forward to the shrine. "Guys! We've found what we're looking for!" She said happily, looking through the small pond of water that was peaking out from around the corners of the hexagon that was in the top of the shrine.

http://i40.tinypic.com/s4nc07.jpg

A crinkling noise sounded behind her and the face of the demon that had been following them since the beginning showed up behind Tawy, and grabbed her by the arm and held her in the air. It looked like it wasn't going to eat her, but it held her in it's mouth, snorting loudly. Tawny screamed, thrashing around in it's mouth. Johnathan freaked, pulling his gun out. The spy jumped ahead, knocking it out of the boys hand. "You'll zhoot her you idiot!" He hissed. "Wee need to wait!"

Johnathan turned to him and glared. "WAIT?!?! YOU WANT HER DEAD!!?" He screamed. The Spy looked at him. Johathan grabbed the collar of his shirt and shoock it. The Spy took his Ambassador and slammed it against the boys head, making him land on the ground, unconscious. "Don't worry, he's not dead. We need to be rational. We need to shot the monster or see what it wants, before shooting and hurtin' Tawny. Any bright ideas guysz" The Spy said, keeping his calm.

Postby zapdragon555 » 11/04/2011 6:00 PM

((I have aunt's permission to control the creature's actions just a bit~ Sorry for such a long post. xD))

It all had happened so quickly, Clive barely had time to raise his gun as the beast grabbed Tawny in its jaws. He started at Spy's passive suggestion, and his finger quivered over the trigger for a few seconds before he lowered the gun and studied the beast carefully.

7, on the other hand, had leaped off of Clive's shoulder and hit the ground running, scrambling toward the beast's tail on doll-sized legs. Clive immediately grabbed her in his hands, pinning her arms to her sides to prevent being stabbed again, and held her several feet above the ground. "Let me go! I can stab it in the nose, or mangle it's ears, or something! Why are you just standing there?!" 7 shouted, her maternal instincts raging, though this girl had just recently been her captor.

"A lot of good that would do; you're scarcely a foot tall and it towers above all of us. Now, wait," Clive ordered sternly. The beast was not hurting Tawny, it seemed, though it still looked very menacing. And yet, it was just standing there snorting. Clive winced as Spy knocked Johnathan to the ground, and glared at the blue-clad man. Was that absolutely necessary? he thought to himself. Clive closed his eyes and curled his fingers in front of his mouth in thought, then suddenly zipped over to Tavros.

The troll boy was staring in cold horror at the monster, his hands trembling violently as he tried to hang on to his weapon. "Tavros," Clive said softly, shaking his shoulder with his free hand while 7 struggled in his other one. "Tavros, you spoke to that Sparrot, remember?" Tavros nodded weakly, looking as if he was about to pass out from fright.

"I-I-I c-can... u-uh, sp.. speak to a-animals," Tavros stuttered, staring into the beast's invisible eyes. "B-but that... th-that thing i-is a monster!" he cried, fully understanding what Clive wanted him to do. "I-I don't know if it will, uh, l-listen to me..."

"Tavros, you're the only one here who can possibly talk to that creature," Clive said in the most level-headed voice he could muster at the moment. "Tawny is in trouble. We need you to try."

Tavros breathed shakily and dropped his sword on the ground, as well as the bread bag containing the pistol, just in case the beast felt threatened by them; no need to provoke it. He slowly wheeled himself up to the beast, trying to make himself appear as small as possible, then closed his eyes and touched his fingers to his temples. He entered a place in his mind that was pitch black, save for a blazing red light coming from where the beast's head most likely was. He focused on the light, and saw it fade in intensity, showing the creature was calming down a bit, though each time Tawny screamed it blazed up again.

He had to time this just right. A calm settled over Tavros, and he sent out a tendril of orange light in his mind, toward the red one, and touched the red light with his own orange one as it faded once more. He heard the beast shift uncomfortably in front of him and growl with uncertainty. Slowly, very slowly, the red light merged with the orange, and then was overcome by the orange light, locking his connection with the creature.

Tavros opened his eyes and wheeled backwards a few inches, then thought, Creature of the forest, why have you attacked us? He blinked slowly and transmitted another question. You have our friend. Uh... well, a member of our pack, I guess, he thought, trying to put it into language the beast could understand. And we need you to put her down, please. If you need something, we can probably help you, but we need you to release our pack leader. Tavros figured that was a decent way of putting it. Tawny was leading them through the forest, after all.

((Heh, I dunno about that whole psychic link thing, but it seemed cool as I was writing it~ xD))

Double H and Calvin alike both reacted, lightning-quick. Somehow, Double H managed to have his helmet on his head within the blink of his eye; not even his arm appeared to move. Especially not when it was suddenly full of his enormous hammer. His hammer definitely had some advantages over a gun--he could attack the beast's legs, and not worry about whether or not he would hit the girl. And his alarm was obvious. "Goodness gracious, he has the girl!"

Calvin simply gasped. In a mirror of his large friend, he held his vulcanized rubber hammer out in front of his body. Like 7, there wasn't a whole lot he could do. Swat at its paws, maybe. His eyes narrowed, and seemed to be getting wet.

Cora flung her long, iron staff in front of them in a wide flare. "Wait, you guys! Hold on a sec! Even if you don't shoot, if you kill that thing, she could still be hurt by its teeth! Calm down. It looks like that kid's gonna try something."

She figured she might as well try something, too. Pulling her staff back, she spoke a few words. They didn't sound like magical words, but a bright, shimmering dome of pale, greenish light encircled the group. The monster, and Tawny, were still visible through the film. But the force field surrounded them. "Hope that holds," she gulped.

"What's he doing?" Calvin asked.

"I think it's some kind of telepathy," Double H theorized. "Very similar to something the DomZ used. If this monster is a relative of them, it may be effective." He seemed unfazed by its appearance, only its actions.

"I don't think you have to be a Don or whatever to use telepathy," Cora said irreverently. "That kid better not get himself killed."

Terezi nodded at Clive as he went over to Tavros and told him to use his telepathy. It was a long shot, but hopefully it would work. He had used it on the Imps back in the game and it had worked. She sighed slightly and walked over to Tavros, holding his arm in her hand. She wouldn't let him die if she had the choice. Eridan held his gun at the beast, but quickly lowered it. It was something of a miracle that Tavros had ended up in this messed up world with them.

The beast watched Tavros with peeked curiosity. As it shifted on it's feet, it sniffed the air. Once Tavros had communicated a link with the beast, it relaxed quit a bit, however it was still alert. The beast moved over to to sanctuary where Tawny had been standing and let it's tail wrap around it. It growled slightly and then began to speak.

Small humans. I am not here to start a war, but only to protect the thing that means the most to me. I did not attack you to attempt to kill anyone, for I only eat the small deer that leap the grounds. This girl has come into my territory for the second time, along with that boy. If you want me to put down your 'leader' then have everyone else drop the weapons they carry. The voice was clearly feminine. It growled slightly and turned its unseeing head towards the others.

The Spy watched everyone and stared at the beast. It was interesting that the boy hopefully was able to connect to it, and speak to it. It was odd, but it wasn't surprising. "Tavros, what did it say?" Terezi asked Tavros as she stood next to him. Eridan shifted and lowered his gun so it was facing the ground.
This is gospel for the fallen ones,
Locked away in permanent slumber,
Assembling their philosophies,
From pieces of broken memories.
~
If you love me let me go,
If you love me let me go,
Cause these words are knives that often leave scars.
The fear of falling apart,
And truth be told, I never was yours.
The fear, the fear of falling apart.

~This is Gospel- Panic! at the Disco~

Tavros blinked and nodded respectfully toward the creature. Thank goodness it was cooperating with his communing link; it's voice was much more pleasant than Tavros had expected. "I-it... uh, she, wants us to drop our weapons," he said softly, turning to the others. "All of them."

Clive's eyes flicked from Tavros to the beast, then back to Tavros, and finally unstrapped the gun from his torso and tossed it to the side. 7 had finally stopped struggling, but clung tightly to her spear. "You need to drop that," Clive muttered softly, prying the spear out of her hands and gently setting it on the ground next to his gun. 7 scowled, but held her tongue, then looked up at the creature's large head.

"And," Tavros began, nodding as Clive and 7 unarmed themselves. "She said that she, um, she wants to..." His eyes flickered to the sanctuary that the beast seemed to be guarding. "To p-protect that shrine, I think. Sh-she says that Tawny has come here before. Johnathan, too," he added quickly.

As he waited for the others to drop their weapons, he turned back to the creature. Who are you? And what is this shrine that you are protecting used for?

But there will come a time
You'll see, with no more tears
And love will not break your heart
But dismiss your fears
Get over your hill and see
What you find there
With grace in your heart
And flowers in your hair

"Tomorrow will be a good day."

Cora brought her staff to her chest defensively. "How do we know this isn't a trick? What if it attacks us as soon as we're defenseless? How do we know it's trustworthy?"

Double H eyed her. He took several deep breaths, and let his hammer slack. The huge, metal weapon slumped in the grass, its handle falling across his armored feet. Beside him, Calvin mirrored with a much smaller hammer. Double H tried to smile, but it looked a bit grisly. "Do not worry. If it strikes us, I'm sure your excellent force field will keep us protected long enough to ready our defense."

Cora sighed. "...I guess so." She stuck her staff in the ground. It stood for a few seconds as she moved away, but gravity dragged it back toward the earth.

"A shrine protector..." Calvin hummed to himself. "Is it some kind of forest goddess?" He scratched his stubbly chin, and his eyes flew open in surprise. "I've dealt with the Harvest Goddess before, across the lands. She can frequently be appeased with gifts."

Calvin ran up next to Tavros. "Tavros! If it's not too much trouble... ask her if she would like us to pay tribute to her, in exchange for safe passage to see the shrine. I don't know what she likes, but I have a few Wonderful Stones I think she might find pleasing to look at. If only to show that we mean her no harm."
