Er...yeah. *shifty eyes* Freezy and I decided to do this. It takes place sometime after the war, in a cafe in Nabias, and acts as if anything we did afterwards didn't happen...so basically an alternate timeline.

Me, Freezair, and endermage are all in this. One other person can join in.

So, without further ado...

BEGIN.

Gray leaned back against the chair, yawning as she looked at the jewel hanging from her wrist. She had almost forgotten about it, with all the craziness of the war. But now, she had time to think.

"Before she died, my mother gave me this. She said that, if the world she was sending me into wasn't right for me, it would help me find a new one. But I loved Evelon, and never wished to leave. But now...I'm curious. I saw my mother open a window by merely slashing the air. Yet when I tried, nothing happened."

(Bah, more later.)

[Freezair]

((For my humans/main characters, I'm using Freezair, Kyhorlet, Curehtas, Tiamazu, and Zaedia.))

"Well, if you've found your One True Homeworld, you're not supposed to leave it," Freezair replied. She looked at the jewel and blew a small gum bubble.

"The only reason we did was because hers was destroyed," Curehtas sighed. "And we've been wandering ever since. Not fun being kicked out of your home..."

"Maybe let Freezy see that," Kyhorlet said. "She's a Universal Traveler. Maybe she knows."

"I never traveled like that, though," Freezair said. "I always just kind of... went."

"A kind of psychic thing, I think you said to me once?" Tiamazu said. Her voice trembled slightly. It always did in the presence of people she didn't know.

Zaedia was bored with the discussion, and was staring at the walls.

(Hope you don't mind me posting again, but seeing as this is sort of a conversation...

Also, Gray has Terra, Tono, Nin, Coco, and Sta with her.)

"Well, my race was different," replied Gray. "We were much more frequent interworld travelers, even those who felt at home in their original world. After all, with these gems and proper training, anyone can travel between worlds-so why not do so?" She shrugged, then looked more closely at the gem. "I wonder if these wiggly lines have anything to do with it..."

[Freezair]

"Huh. I have to admit, being stuck on your One True Homeworld isn't always fun," Freezair said. "I mean, if you want to see your family again..."

"Well, we always did TRY," Kyhorlet said.

"I don't see why you care so much," Zaedia mumbled to her corner. Tiamazu shot her a scathing glance, but said nothing.

Freezair poured over the wiggly lines. Curehtas sent a finger forth. "May I?" he asked, holding it over the pendant. "I mean, if you don't mind."

"Yeah. Maybe it'll work like the old Rocket-TV did," Kyhorlet snorted. "Get Curehtas to whack it and see if it cooperates."

[GrayGriffin]

Gray sighed. "Yes, of course," she said, passing it over. Sta moved closer, laying a head on her shoulder.

"What's wrong?" he whispered softly.

"My family...they're dead," she replied evenly, even quieter than him. Sta gasped a little bit.

Zaedia gave Gray a sideways look. "So're mine. You don't see me going wah-wah over it."

Tiamazu gave Zaedia a look like she wanted to smack the Matches seven ways to Sunday, but the studious Seawinder merely twiddled her fins.

Curehtas ignored them both, and ran his fingers over the odd object. "Hmm. I definitely feel the magic. It's like our Orbs. But how, exactly...?"

"Let me see," Kyhorlet said.

She pawed at the pendant without waiting for Curt to put it down. Predictably, he protested. "Hey! She didn't say you could look at it! Cut it out!"

"You two--!" Freezair reached for it as well. All three of them had their fingers cupped around the artifact.

A sudden shockwave rippled through the atmosphere. The air around them went thick and smelled strange.

"Uh-oh," Freezair said. She, Kyhorlet, and Curehtas all dropped the amulet onto the table.

((I don't know how the amulet is suppose to react. Hope that's OK.))

[It's okay, I never thought much about it. Except when Gray has it and its power is full, she can rip wormholes in the air. Whee!]

Gray leaned over, touching it curiously. An electric shock shot through her body, stiffening her arms and legs. The claws on the paw gripping the amulet shot out, ruining the table. Gray would have apologized, if she had been able to speak. Visions danced in front of her eyes.

And then it stopped. The amulet sat innocently in her hand, metaphorically looking up at her with puppydog eyes. Shrugging, Gray waved a hand-and the claws slashed through the air, tearing open a hole.

"Oi! Air is expensive!" joked Tono. Coco and Nin sniggered, as Gray took a corner of the "hole" and tugged it gently.

"It's someone's head," she muttered.

And then the someone leaned back, found nothing there, and fell through, along with his chair.

"What happened?" he asked.

[Freezair]

Freezair's eyes went wide. A young man--probably around fifteen or sixteen, somewhere in the throes of puberty--with dark black hair and strange, dancing eyes fell through the hole, landing back-down in between her and Gray.

She took a few steps back. "Ah... Are you... alright, sir?"

"Why are you calling him 'sir?' He's way younger than you!" Kyo said derisively. "Who are you anyway, kid?"

"He looks human, at least," Tiamazu said. She wafted through the air, slinking up beside him. She put one of her cool, moist fins over his face.

Curt and Zaedia watched, baffled, from the back.

[When in the AF timeline does this take place? I just finished book 6 yesterday! *does the happy book dance* And of course I finished book 5 too. ;D]

"You're not a vampire, are you?" squeaked Nin, staring at the boy's pale skin and dark hair. After all, for all they knew, that other dimension was FULL of vampires. [*cracks up imagining a Butler vampire*]

"I don't think he is-I think he's more scared than you are. But if he's a vampire, he'll never get at my sister and mate!" hissed Tono.

Sta groaned.

[Freezair]

((Oh snap. Book 6 is out? I haven't read it.))

[Alright, how about after book 5 then? All I'll tell you about book 6 is that Holly kisses Artemis! Squee!]
