Would you buy previews of Custom Breedables?

So with the recent release of the photoshop documents for the Lucains, Paragons, and Soveris, do you think people would pay someone to make a preview for them? I was thinking this as I was making my own, but I realized that some people don't 1) like to make their own stuff/ don't have time, 2) might not have photoshop, and 3) unable to really get colors right/ only have a vague idea of what they want. So I was suggesting a service that would CHEAPLY make cain/gon/soveris previews for people so that they would be able to completely see what they are getting. I was told that it would be better to put this to a poll so that people could voice their opinion rather than just doing it on my own and it failing. So if you have any questions or suggestions, please say. Also I was thinking that it would be priced 10-15 KS per preview, if you think it should be lower or higher, please say so.

I'd say if it's cheap, yeah. Some people might not be very proficient with Photoshop, so they'd still be willing to pay for previews as long as it's not too expensive <:

For me, the answer doesn't depend on price but on the question if there will be a basic explanation released on how the files work. I opened one in my Photoshop and quickly figured that I had no idea what to do since trying to color the markings just made me smear over the whole file instead of only on the marking. xD; And the colors don't look right, either. And I honestly couldn't figure it out in like 30 mins so I gave up. So yeah - if there will be no explanation on how these things work, I'd buy stuff and 10-15KS seems like a good price to me. If there will be an explanation somewhere, I probably wouldn't buy, seeing as KS has become very important for breeding rooms and potion supply now.

Dunno if that helps. I'll check the "maybe" option, just wanted to say that it's not really the price which will make me do that.

I think someone was talking about putting up a tutorial for the files in the IRC, so we might see something for you Shieba. You could also probably PM one of the Mods if you are having trouble.

Ah, thank you for that info! =) I'll wait and see if something like that happens then. I won't bother the mods over something like that, they're busy enough as they are, really. XD; I don't buy that many non-Diosol pets from the sales anyway, so their time would be a bit wasted on me.

I did say that yes, I could offer a tutorial on how to use them. I'd just need to get pictures together, and then actually put those pictures with text to explain what they mean.

It's a bit difficult to explain by text (though crow managed to make it work via text alone yesterday in the IRC), though if you're desperate to try, yeah, the mods are around. A tutorial would take some time, but hopefully if all goes well, I can try to make it this weekend.

PS is a bit intimidating when you don't know what to do, but once you know how to do something, you don't forget the skill.

If anyone has any basic questions, the Help forum is there; you're free to ask questions, and that will actually give us a good idea of what people want to do (apart from the obvious).

Note that the tutorial probably won't touch on some very basic concepts; like, you should know some basic art lingo, like color, shading, highlights... What the brush tool is, what layers/groups are. Knowing me I'll probably explain the layers and the folders, but in the meantime, if I were you, I would go on Google and just learn more about PS in general.

I thought I'd drop in and say to color the markings you find the marking you want in the folder that contains markings/minimarkings whatever and use the color/gradient overlay. Example:

Marking to color: Arach
Find "Arach" folder under "Markings" and open it up after you click the box beside it to turn it on. There should be 2 files. Find the one that is called "Main." Double click on it. On the menu that appears, look at the list on the left and find the thing called "Color Overlay." Click it if you want solid color; you can change things around. If you want a gradient, uncheck "Color Overlay" and check "Gradient Overlay" and play around with things there until it looks neat. And that's about it!

And I personally wouldn't buy custom previews, just because I know how to do them pfft. x'D But it's a fine idea!
