Show Off Your Real Life Critters!

Postby ToxicShadow » 04/20/2015 8:04 PM

It's been awhile since one of these threads popped up, and I just LOVE seeing everyone's critters! (And reading stories about them!) So, show me your critters! <3 And, you know, tell us about 'em, if you're up to it!

Here are my furry babies! <3
(I'm currently lacking in feathery or scaley babies. :c)

First up is the oldest! This is Keira. She's a Siamese/Calico, although they are supposedly officially called a "Tortoiseshell Point Siamese." I've had her since I was about 12, give or take, and I believe it was either March or May that I got her as a kitten about six weeks old. I had been wanting a feline of the Siamese-ish variety and, when my father's friends' cats had kittens, they allowed me the pick of the litter. She's been with me a long time, through A LOT of things, and has seen so many other pets come and go, it's hard to believe. She's the oldest cat, I have, personally, ever had. (She's been with me just over half of my lifetime.) Actually, she is the oldest pet I have ever had. And yet, even to this day, at around twelve years old, she is still as feisty as a kitten. Only she sleeps a bit more in between. xD She likes to chase me around the house, jump on my leg, and play pretty rough with me, since we've done it since she was a kitten. Though, that behavior is reserved only for me and, of course, I don't mind it. She knows what, "Be nice," means, if she's getting too crazy. For most of her life, she was strictly an outdoor cat, as my parents always hated inside pets, but she has been retired to an indoor cat for a few years now, becoming one as soon as I moved. She's SUPER protective and motherly to our younger cat, Nomo, although she also likes to beat her up and turn her into practice prey quite often.

(Here is another picture, where you can sort of see her face. She's doing the same thing, though, inspecting the keystones I made for the last scavenger hunt.)

Second up is Nomo! She's supposedly called a "Diluted Tortoiseshell," which I had no idea of until after I adopted her. She's the youngest of the family, but only by a little bit, just short of three years old. I adopted her from a shelter when she was about three months old. I felt that Keira really needed a companion and, as she has disliked any adult cat that she has ever been introduced to, a kitten was the only way to go. As the picture might show, Nomo is curious about EVERYTHING. I took this picture a two days ago to show off the brand new shoes my husband and I got, and she just HAD to stick herself in the picture to inspect the new things in the house. As she is always been an indoor cat, she's kind of scared of everything. Lol. She absolutely loves human food, and not by my own choice. I could almost swear she was a dog or a pig in another life. She's notorious for getting into pizza boxes and potato chip bags. She pretty much still acts like a kitten, always with her tail in the air, jumping off walls and flopping in front of Keira so she'll groom her. She's pretty cheeky when it comes to Keira, always trying to pick on her and one up her.

(Old picture, since I seem to have lost any newer ones. :c)

This is Inspector Rosco Rabbit, just Rosco for short. He's a Netherland Dwarf Rabbit. He's a little over three years old. I bought him when he was six months old at a discount price from a local pet shop just about a month before I adopted Nomo. He was the last of the rabbits they had gotten in and was super lonely and depressed and I was on friendly terms with the woman that worked there, since I worked for the after school program her son was enrolled in. I was told from the get go that he was a bit ornery, liking to nip and nibble and run ALL OVER. His name came form the fact that he liked to inspect EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE, even if he had to hop over and scurry under all sorts of things to do so. He gets along exceptionally well with the cats,  taking turns chasing them across the house and then being chased across the house. He and Nomo have a pretty close bond, likely from being so close in age, they mimic each other and she loves to groom his face. xD

Bunny! :D We can't have bunnies; they're illegal in my state.

The boy and I recently got kittens.

Wow, this is a late response, but oh my goodness, Silver, your babies are ADORABLE! I seriously can't resist kitties. <3 If I could manage it, I would have more than two cats, but yeah, gotta show some restraint.
