So since it's too snowed in for me to go to the store, I decided that I wanted to start a topic to ask....

Which one of your characters is your favorite? Who is your pride and joy, or who means the most to you on Evelon? Oh and they must be an OC, not a cosplay pet! Just to make things interesting~

For me... hard to say. Skylark since she is me, or Midnight since she is older than dirt, but otherwise I would have to choose... Vincent.


He was one of my first cryptids I made, so he is very near and dear to me, Melissa coming in a close second. He is also called Sirebog, since he is a monster that lures people to their watery graves with song. He is also an old character too.

My favorite character is one of my oldest and who I'm redesigning: Dracaz.

His design has changed so much over the years since nothing looks right for him. He's the personification of my rage and when I started developing the character more for roleplay purposes, his story just took on a life of it's own. He's just hard to roleplay with people because he's very volatile and reacts without warning, so the one time I have actually thrown him at someone I toned him back a lot lol.

Heh, my current 'favorite' pet usually changes pretty often, but Ai here has been a favorite since her creation. Although she comes from the Star Wars universe, she is an OC, so I believe she would still fit here? She's special to me because she was a character I originally created for a video game/book idea that Jed had, and thanks to her Jed and I ended up creating a huge storyline together that's been in progress since our relationship first began!

This is Rift. I've had him since I was about 14, and he's one of a trio of characters from that particular plot who are still near and dear to my heart, but he's my favorite. This is actually pretty funny since my faves in works that aren't my own tend to be the cute, well-meaning, innocent bean types but Rift in his original incarnation was a borderline sociopath--- I say borderline since he does eventually develop a friendship and romance, though on the whole he generally thinks nothing of being awful if it'll get him what he wants.

Considering I made him when I was 14, he's been revised and AU'd to hell and back. He's mellowed out somewhat, though he still tends to be calculating and rather low on the kind of empathy that stops you from doing morally reprehensible things. On the surface though, he's a flirty, charismatic type who doesn't take anything seriously, and god help you if you want to make him try. In the universes where magic is a thing, he's also generally a shapeshifter. Someday I'd love to get more forms for him.

He also has a Dragon Age universe offshoot named Riven. Originally it was just supposed to be an AU version of him, but Riven developed away from Rift's baseline enough that I consider him a derivative character, rather than the same entity. Riven is... if anything, worse than Rift, or at least has fewer redeeming qualities. Somehow. I think it might have something to do with being a demon. There's not much that's redeemable about any demon in the DA universe. Riven has an aesthetic tag here.

I honestly have no idea why he ended up being my favorite. I mean, he's fun to write, since his irreverence and the fact that he likes to get under people's skin makes him great for dialogue and bothering other characters. I'm also very fond of his character arc--- maybe it's part of that whole monster/unloved individual learns to love trope, which I admit, I am very weak for.

He's also one of the very few characters that I have art for. A friend of mine drew this (though usually Rift actually prefers to dress in whites and greys rather than something that dark). She also drew him in the... FE:A Manakete outfit because of a bad skype joke. :')

My favorite character(s) I've ever made don't really have an evelon representative at the moment, so I'm going to go with one of my new(ish) characters that I've really taken a liking to.

This is Francis Cole. He used to live a fairly normal life as a photographer for weddings and events, and then he got dragged into a whole bunch of demon fighting nonsense. Despite the overwhelming proof that he's faced with nearly every day, and the fact he travels with a priest working for the church, he remains fairly skeptical of religion in general. The rest of the guys in his group like to refer to him as their "Token Skeptic."

He's fun to play because he's generally the comedic relief of the group, and offers a cynical counterpoint to Oliver (the priest's) constant optimism. He's bitingly sarcastic, a bit rough around the edges, and despite his small stature is more than happy to just punch someone in the face. If he can reach. He's also a complainer and enjoys inciting arguments, so he does generate a fair amount of dialogue. He has a few redeeming qualities, in that he's loyal to a fault and easily excitable. I feel like those things sometimes get buried under all of his cynicism. He loves horror movies and was born on Halloween, so he likes to compare their crazy lifestyle to various b-list black and white movies.

Okay, okay, I'm going to be the first one to cheat a little...

My favorite character that came into existence on Evelon is Zelosis. I love SO many others, but he was one of my first, so holds a very special place in my heart. He was my VERY first Lucain, too, ordered when Lucain were first released. If I recall correctly, I had to snail mail the funds for him, which defintely came out of pocket. No way my parents would spend $20 on pixels. I had to explain my purchase to them in a way they would understand, too, by comparing it to my older brother spending real cash for virtual items and expansions for the World of Warcraft video game.

That aside, I've always just ADORED his character. At the time of his creation, I'd never roleplayed such an openly flirty character, and he was just so whimsical and sure of himself that it was fun. He's the reason I like pink. He's the one character that I would love to meet in real life, even if only for fleeting moments, you get the idea.

He's one of those characters that really just does his own thing, running off in his own direction as I roleplay him. And, he's just so precious. <3

My favorite character from before my Evelon days, and has since moved to Evelon, is Rhosey. She was originally a shadow gelert on Neopets, and one of my two first "humanoid," roleplay characters. Before her (and her brother, War, whom is also on Evelon), I always stuck to quadrupeds. She was a TON of fun to design, in both forms, and it was roleplaying her that cemented my love of roleplaying.

She's been primarily developed as I have roleplayed her and, let me tell you, she's been through A LOT. I mean, she was pretty much murdered twice, only alive through the blessing of a god, so fun times. So, well, she's here on Evelon finally maybe be a bit happy. I never meant for her to be hurt so many times. :c But she's still very precious to me. So much so that I dropped extra funds just for all of her add-ons, to make her reasonably close to her original form.

Annabelle is absolutely my favorite character. Without her none of my other characters would exist. She is the reason why my whole little writing universe exists, and one of the reasons why I started/continued writing at all. Annabelle was my first real OC, and she has been with me through some really tough stuff. Her character has evolved so much over the years and she's always been a character that I really enjoy writing.
