Hey guys! The Evelon crowd are some of the most Christmassy people I know, so I'm enlisting you to help me out for a little personal project. I'm making a playlist for my kids to listen to while we do Christmas games and crafts, since music is a real big part of the holiday atmosphere. I... don't have a lot of holiday experience myself, and I'm definitely forgetting some stuff, so that's where you come in!

Please suggest stuff to add to my playlist! I'll list what I've already got. I do have one condition: I won't be including songs that take a flirty attitude towards Santa. I know why it happens and my kids in all honesty might not understand, but I teach at an elementary school. I think we'll be fine without that kind of thing x3;

There is also a Hawaiian one that is really nice that you hear in the US a lot. Mele Kalikimaka? I think it was. Its an older one with that old song sound.

I would skip I'm Getting Nothing for Christmas.

For something fun I would play the story from The Night Before Christmas as well. That one is one we listen to a lot over the holidays. Its one of my mom's favorites and a real classic even if its not a song and it more of a story with sound effects.

Anything by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is awesome. If you're not familiar with them, they're responsible for the orchestral techno-rock covers of Christmas standards you hear. Their version of Carol of the Bells is, in fact, epic, and not in that hyperbolic way we on the Internet call things epic. I mean actually factually awe-inspiring. Plus, they tend to do instrumentals, so they're all-ages safe.

Also, I love "Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney. I know a lot of people think that song is way too cheesy, but I have a huge soft spot for it.

Also, a song that deserves way more love in my opinion is "'Zat You, Santa Claus?" Because you've never too young to learn how much classic jazz kicks as...er, butt. It is for kids, after all. c:0

Knowing the general age of your audience, I'd suggest "I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas." By Gayla Peevey. It's kind of goofy, but kids normally like it!
