I have heard from several people that have had trouble getting the IRC chat to work. Which is a shame, once you see how fun it is. :D
There are a couple reasons you might be having problems:
1) You don't have Java enabled.
Java is a scripting language, used to make interactive content for the internet. Not having it enabled or installed means you're going to miss out on some things, like this chat ;). For whatever reason, you might not have Java enabled in your browser. To enable Java in Internet Explorer:
1. Click "Tools" --> "Internet Options"
2. Select the Advanced Tab, and scroll down to "Java (Sun)"
3. Check the box next to the "Use Java 2" version
4. Next, select the Security Tab, and select the "Custom Level" button
5. Scroll down to "Scripting of Java applets"
6. Make sure the "Enable" radio button is checked.
7. Click OK to save your preference.
2) If, when you get to step two above and don't see "Java (Sun)" listed, you probably don't have the Java Runtime installed on your computer. You will need to go to the
Sun Java Download Page and download it. Don't fret about getting a virus from it - Sun is an old and respected company. Just follow the instructions and you can't go wrong! Sorry dial-up users, but it might take a while for you. Once you have it installed the IRC client should work.
If none of that worked, or if you need more help, don't hesitate to post here with your problems.
