Poor Kitty...

Postby Ghostlily » 10/04/2007 8:39 PM

-sigh- Me kitty died...Just tonight. I didn't really cry or anything, because he had been sick for a while, but still...I'm kind of...sad. -sigh- Dumb thing is, my parents didn't even tell me. They probably thought I couldn't handle it. Anyways, they were gone for a bit, so I went out to give James (yeah, that was his name...) his medicine, and I could only find his brother, Henry (both are black kittens) so I got really worried. Then I went and looked in our spreader (we have sheep, so our cat are barn cats...plus my mom is allergic) 'cause that's where a lot of our dead cats end up. And I hate it, because then I can't bury them or anything. So I took James out of the spreader, because, of course, that's where he was, and buried him in our 'pet graveyard.' It was so creepy because his eyes were open...
-shudder- I just wrapped him up and dug a hole and buried him, even though it was, like, pitch-black out. I made a little bouquet of flowers and put those on the grave...My other cats followed me and were trying to cheer me up...I think they knew that I was sad. -sigh- Poor kitty...So I got to thinking, and made a poem, out of random inspiration...

Dead Cat On My Doorstep

Dead cat on my
Doorstep
Wonder where it's
From
'Tis black and small
Ribs are
Showing
To die like
This
Why did it
Live at
All?
A pointless life
I stare down
Droplets fall
Tears sparkle
Why did it
Have to die
Alone
Without a
Home
Or anyone
Who ever
Cared?
Perhaps it chose
This place
To die
To teach me
That life is precious
Not to waste
Another day
Or waste away
'Cause each day
Gone
Is another lost
Forever
Dead cat on my
Doorstep
I pick it up
Hold it tight
Swear'll I'll try to make
Something right
In this world
Simply because
There's a dead cat on my
Doorstep

Heaven's gates won't open up for me
With these broken wings I'm fallin'
And all I see is you.

Oh... I'm so sorry about your kitty. I would freak if my cat died. I still havn't gotten over my dalmation puppy dying like...8 years ago... But then again. If an animal dies for any reason other than food or shelter, I'll cry. Even if it was a bug. I'm so sorry about your cat.
You may call, you may call
But the little black cats won't hear you.
The little black cats are maddened
By the bright green light of the moon;
They are whirling and running and hiding,
They are wild who were once so confiding,
They are crazed when the moon is riding
You will not catch the kittens soon.
They care not for saucers of milk,
They think not of pillows of silk;
Your softest, crooningest call
Is less than the buzzing of flies.
They are seeing more than you see,
They are hearing more than you hear,
And out of the darkness they peer.
With a goblin light in their eyes!

Thanks guyes...I really didn't cry, I was just really solemn...I just kind of moved on, because when you own livestock, you kind of get used to stuff dying. The only cat I cried my eyes out about was my tabby Tiger. I was going to get on the bus, and he was just...right there. In front of the bus. He was and will always be my favorite kitty cat. And the most ironic thing of all...it was the day before Thanksgiving...
-sigh- That was the worst day of my life in a long time...

The day before thanksgiving... My friend had a bird that died ON thanksgiving... He was depressed for a while, and said really stupid stuff, blaming something, that was just over reacting. But is was still really sad, for him. And for me. I had some great memories with that bird. He flew into the hood of my hoodie once, and couldn't get out...

We accidentally ran over one of our cats once... It was the brother to one of the ones we have now. His name was Nat. We were in a hurry to go to the mall (which is like an hour away) so my Mom like, backed out very fast, and as we were backing out, I heard my Mom say something, and I looked behind the car, and he was death-convulsing in the driveway. I cried all the way to the mall. It was horrible... That was a few years ago though, so I've mostly gotten over it.

I havn't gotten over my dalmation puppy! that was 8 years ago, and I still cry every time I think of her. And I can still see her brown eyes and heart shaped nose pointed right at me when it rains. I guess I'm a little crazy, but I belive my pets to be my inhuman siblings.

My dad did that. But personally, I blame my brother...grrrr....he was supposed to be watching the cat, like my dad told him, but he was an idiot and the kitten got ran over. It was so sad...my dad put the kitten in a cage, because there was really nothing we could do, and -shudder- I think the cat's back legs were crushed. It...-shudders again- I don't even want to think about it, because it just gives me the creeps...

Funny thing is, with Tiger, he got stepped on by a sheep when he was a kitten. My mom rescued him, than the mother moved her litter right away. And then, later, he got ran over, but he healed up well. Then he got squished a second time, and didn't live through that one...
