The amount of excitement was positively overwhelming. It was stressful to see so many people running around and talking about all the raffles that were going on. The raffles were obvious and easy to understand, but people still felt the need to question the rules and to ask questions about them. It seemed like, compared to the two other booths, this one was having a hard time dealing with its customers.
It was lunch time for now, so there was no line waiting to grab their promotional merchandise and their raffle ticket. A small sign sat on the table to say "Closed; Back at 1PM" to all passersby who were looking for their tickets to this one raffle. Considering the prizes, too, it was probably the busiest booth of them all.
It didn't really please the young teenager who sat behind the booth. He was leaning against his chair with his arms crossed, and he looked nothing but extremely stressed and tense. It was understandable, since he didn't seem to be very old; maybe thirteen or fourteen only. His brown eyes darted this way and that as he watched the people walk by, sometimes scratching his messy white hair out of stress. Despite people seeing the sign, some came awfully close to the booth, and that was enough to make him uncomfortable.
"Conall!" a voice called out to him, and the boy jumped. "I have food!"
A young girl, just about Conall's age, walked up to the booth and dropped two bags on the table. She had short dirty blonde hair with piercing red eyes, although she wasn't an albino. She was wearing a small sleeveless hoodie, which matched the casual look of Conall's overalls.
"Phoebe," Conall sighed as he relaxed from the scare, "you scared me," he added, looking away from the girl, but letting his gaze sit on the bags she'd brought back: one for him, and one for her.
"Oops, sorry," Phoebe apologized, although her cheerful tone hinted that she didn't really feel that sorry. Although, she did know that Conall was nervous about handling the booth. "But hey, this will cheer you up! Look!" She opened her white bag and took out a styrofoam takeout box from of it. When she opened it, the smell of greasy food fumed out, and inside, there were fries with some chicken nuggets. "I found chicken nuggets shaped like Kuhnas!" she told her friend as she picked one up to show him. "See?"
Conall blinked; admittedly, the smell was appetizing, although the shape of the nuggets really didn't matter much to him. "That looks really good," he said as he looked to his own bag.
"I know! My mom gave me some money so we could eat before we have to run the booth again," Phoebe said as she opened the plastic wrapper that held the plastic utensils. Without giving Conall time to open his own lunch, the girl dug in right away, drenching french fries in the brown gravy that came with the meal.
"Where is she, anyway?" Conall questioned, referring to Phoebe's mom. She was supposed to watch over the two kids, since they weren't exactly adults, so running a big booth all on their own wasn't exactly something they could necessarily be trusted to do.
"Oh, she's around," Phoebe replied absentmindedly as she continued to eat, alternating between the fries and the nuggets. "Don't worry, we'll be fine! She'll come running if anything happens, though, no worries," she replied nonchalantly, clearly not worried and seemingly knowing her mom perfectly, if she could say those things without a hint of hesitation.
The two kids proceeded to eat their lunch, and after that, the line started to build up again. Conall was the shiest of the two, so Phoebe typically ended up being the one who talked and explained everything to those who came up to the booth. "Hi! Welcome to the Kuhna raffle event!" she greeted, just as Conall quietly pushed along the Kuhna merchandise all the booths were giving away. "Take some merchandise before you go!" Phoebe invited as she pushed her own things, namely, the raffle ticket and the pamphlet to explain the prizes.
"Ours is a little small compared to the other booths, but we're giving away super cool Kuhnas!" the girl explained with an excited smile. She was jealous: she wanted one of those rare Kuhnas, too!
"We... We're giving away two Elder Kuhnas," Conall chipped in timidly, not even confident enough to make eye-contact, but he wanted to do his part to help his friend.
"Yep!" Phoebe confirmed with a smile and the clapping of her hands. "So be sure to take your ticket! I bet you wouldn't want to miss out on one of those!"
