So we're doin' what you all voted and now we're doing a Create-A-Color contest, the very first of it's kind! What we're looking for is for YOU to design and submit any kind of color scheme (such as Blaze or Cobalt) we don't already have! They'll be featured on the main site and you'll snag yourself a nice little prize~

Rules:

* First of all, there will be two categories but only one winner. Categories are Normal Color Schemes and Special Color Schemes. Normal color schemes are those that will be available more commonly and regularly. Special color schemes are those that could retire or will be forum-only, such as the Biolune or the 'Experiment' colors.

* The contestant may only submit ONE entry for each category in the same post!

* Images are not required but chances are I have a better time visualizing your entry if I can see it. Please do NOT use color codes (saves us all time and hassle.) For this case, you may use edited pet images to help you or you can draw your own. I must stress that you shouldn't scan your images, as the scanner will most likely kill off the colors. Little example images of the colors are also accepted.

* You can also give a small explanation of your color. It could help too~

* Once again, please note that, althought you may name your color scheme, it is up to my discretion on whether or not to official name it as such. =)

What We're Looking For:

As you all know, we have a nice range of the color spectrum on the site so obviously, one-color schemes might not get the best review as opposed to multiple-color schemes. We want originality, simplicity, and overall good aesthetic. I need to be able to use it on original lineart if your Normal Color Scheme is selected, or I must be able to easily replace your chosen Special Color Scheme. Also, color schemes that
look strikingly similar to already existing official schemes might not fare as well as something we've not seen before.

Color Name: Chocolate Dipped
Color Category: Special
Description: Always good for a laugh, the Chocolate Dipped species loves everything about sweets, from making them to stealing them to eating them. They are prone to sugar rushes, headaches, and breaking most of your furniture. I daresay not to keep them cooped up too long, as you might find a nasty surprise in your slipper. Chocolate Dipped species has their front half a milky chocolate color, while the bottom half has a chocolate color, splattering onto their creamy pelts, almost exactly like they were dipped in chocolate. They have a range of eye color from pink, red, hazel, milky pink, and blue. They are extremely diverse animals, and are to be handled with care.

Color Name: Night Lights
Color Category: Normal
Description: Night Light colored species love big cities, nights on the town, and watching the stars. Their pelts are dark midnight blue, with bright yellow spots covering their fascinating pelts. They almost seem to blend into the night, slipping in and of the shadows. They love dancing, and music. Most of them are in the music business, creating songs and playing in bands. Their dark pelts help in stealth, so some learn fighting and Tae-Kwon-Do.

I'm so going to enter. I made up one a while a go for some reason but I forgot it, so I'll have to make up a new one. I'll edit this once I'm done.
Edit: Have some info for them, will add example pictures and personality descriptions later:

Normal= 'Mountain Cabin' (Not real name, just what I'm calling it because thats what gave me the idea) Their base color is brown, and their main markings (stripes, spots, ect) are green, with a kind of white out line. If they have second markings (wings, horns, claws, flame-looking stuff, etc or different stripes ect) it will be greyish blue with a grey out line thingy... I have the picture before. The horns arn't the best in the world, but they should give you the idea. They are considered second markings.

Personality/other: Coming soon

Special= "StormCloud" (actuall name made up for this one, and what gave me the idea) Storm clouds are kind of like the evil sky pets. The are grey with black main markings (see above to see what that catigory is) and Very dark blue second markings if it has any... It also has a dark blue aura, just slightly lighter than the second markings. They will normally have bat-like wings, if they don't already have wings or what not, and the main part of the wings will be treated as a first marking and the membrain as a second marking. Also their expressions tend to be like a void pet's, or and evil expression. Below I have the picture example. The wings arn't the best, and I did use a kuhna's wings, so if it does become a real color, that would hopefully change. A sahound is shown.

Personality/other: Though closly related to the sky pets, Stormclouds are dark and normally quite evil and/or miscievious. They use their dark colors to blend into shadows, and will commonly attack from the air because all are capable of flight, no matter what size their wings. You will never find one afraid of the sound of thunder, sight of lightning, strong winds, or anything else that has to do with storms. Some tales say the strongest ones could acctually create small storms, but this is put off as a myth because nothing has been found to support this.
Why special?: My suggestion is that these would be like the closely related sky pets, and come on the site at times, then retire quickly.

Punk

Color Name: Punk
Category: Normal
Personality: Punk pets are hardcore, despite the pink. They aren't afraid of anything and love adrenaline rushes. Don't be surprised if you ever see a Punk pet going bungee jumping or sky diving--they live for that sort of thing. They love extremes and live life to its fullest.

Category: Special
Personality: Storm pets are extremely hyper. Their energy never seems to run out. While this can be good, it get get annoying for the lazy owner. But they also seem to be bi-polar, getting angry or bursting in emotion. And, as if in a flash of lightning, this emotion will be gone. They can be quite a mysterious bunch, at times.
Other Appearance Notes: Storm pets have a yellow glow. They also have little sparks of electricity coming off their fur/scales/feathers.

Those of the Citrus colour are normally either sweet, or, well, sour! They can also be a mix of both, sometimes to the extreme where they have dual personalities. They prefer warmer, tropical climates, as opposed to colder ones or deserts. (Needs to be Expanded)

These are just simple doodles to demonstrate the idea. I know, I left out a lot of details on the pets, but just supposed to make you get the idea.
Fruity pets are very vibrant, very sweet individuals. They are normally very outgoing, and generally well-liked. Most of them resemble different fruits, and they are all actually quite edible, and do, surprisingly, taste like the fruit their pelt represents. They are quite rare because of this. Like plants, they need plenty of sunshine, and plenty of rain. If they don't one or the other, they get grumpy and they actually can take on a "rotten" appearance if neglected for too long. They are very much plant and much less animal. As a result, they have much base knowledge about plants and herbs, making them good cooks and healers.

Guess I'll be the first with an entry? (Shrugs) These are horrible, horrible ideas. (Dies) But They were a spur of the moment type thing. I rather like the first one, Sandstone. It's got a cool combination of earthy colors. I also put in a bit about the type of pet, like a description of what those pets are like.


Normal Color Scheme

Sandstone pets prefer hotter climates than most. They are usually found in desert, and very sandy areas, as their pelt color blends into the space around them. They can survive extreme temperatures, due to a cooling agent located in the orange part of their fur/feathers. Sandstone pets incorporate a variety of dark brown, light tan, darker tan, and a dark orange somewhere on their bodies. Their eyes are always yellow. They are known for being able to go long periods without water, and are some of the most hardy and resilient pets. Sandstone pets are known to be calm, level-headed, and very relaxed.

Special Color Scheme

The researchers at the preservation Zoo came up with another rare and wonderful species. Like their similar counterparts, the Treasure pets, the Medallion pets are very rare indeed. Medallion pets seem to incorporate the colors silver/grey and white somewhere on their fur, and almost always have blue eyes. They have a good reason to be so wary of humans. These pets have the highest electrical conductivity of any other type of pet, and their fur is highly prized for use in making coins, ornaments, jewelry, dental materials, and conductors. They are often hunted illegally.

Just some ideas for now. I'll add pics if/when I get them done.

Common: Egyptian- colors can be seen in the example. Under the eyes, three blue dots in the positions of the key points of a V, there is also a blue line under the eye. Upon the back, the outline of a single sunburst ray curves down he back in white. Surrounding the white, a ring of black sits that looks like dribbled oil, the thickness of the black varying all around the white sunburst ray. Darker brown speckles are strewn over the back, haunches, and base of the tail, some of the spots even overlapping the sun ray and it's ring. Gold speckles adorn the neck, ankles, and ears of the pet.

Information: Egyptian pets are benevolent, charitable, and they are very fond of their respective dieties. They are highly skilled craftsmen and women, fond of parties, celebrations, and the like. Also, they are dedicated scholars and spend their time learning anything and everything they don't already know. Many often set out in search of new discoveries, delve into unorthodox subjects, and conduct controversial research as well. As such, they tend to keep to themselves as the vast majority of the world does not appreciate their antics. However, once befriended, they are valuable companions and loyal guardians.

Special: Tawny- Brown base. White lower jaw, neck, belly, and under-sides of legs, tail(s) and wings. Darker brown spots are strewn around the eyes, on the neck/chest area. The same dark brown covers the feet as well.

Information: Tawny pets are wild, untameable, and live by their instincts. Often considered feral, they are left alone or even destroyed on sight. As such, they are extremely hard to find and a rare sight. They often have enlarged claws, fangs, unkempt fur and feathers, and appear more dangerous than they really are. However, they are perfectly happy with contract relationships. If you agree to feed, shelter, and protect them, they are willing to serve for a time. However, the call of the wild will always draw them back to their natural habitat, sometimes never to return to their contractor.

Special: Dream
These pets are usually found with a dreamy expression on their face, and are also very poetic and deep. They are also prone to sudden drowsiness. They have been found as knowledgeable creatures, but not very reliant, seeing as they may have fallen asleep when you most need them. Some can be found never asleep, but half in and out, in a perpetual dream world. You must be careful with these gentle, beautiful creatures, because since they mostly sleep, they are a little more frail then most.
Appearance: These pets will have a navy blue/deep dark indigo base(#1 for base), with a lighter(but not too light, just noticable) belly(#2 for belly) and stars dotting their pelt[(more like StarSpeckled than Celestial)#3 for stars**two different colors!]. A moon can be found on any Dream pet's flank or forehead(whichever is more visible in the picture)(#4 for moon), which should stand out a bit more. Their aura(#5 for aura) should be thin, but noticable light indigo(like the base color of a Peacer Fellox). Their eyes are a light amber or brighter yellow-y orange(#6). Silver swirls are also spread out along pelt with the stars(not on chart, whichever shade of gray/silver is fine). The whole pet looks shiny.

Normal: Fizz
To their name, Fizz pets are very bubbly and love to play. They almost seem to have boundless energy, and have been known to live on the happier side of life. Their pelts are highly tempting to touch, because you feel a very nice tingle when you pet them. Also, I would keep the sweets away. These little guys can get extremely dependant on sugar and sweets. They are extremely gullible too, but some more than others. It depends on species and comsumption of sweets.
Colors:
Fizz pets can range from champange-y yellow to orange soda orange(#1). Some can even be a browner tone, like Pepsi or Coke(#1a). Their pelts will include bubble-like markings all over(#4). A second color(which would be the belly of some pets) would be a white/off-white(#2), and the third(like the swirls on a Rollaby) would be a silvery color(#4 color of bubble), and shiny. Their eyes would be either bright amber or tan(#3).

Alright, for this contest I have two entries. Since I didn't have the lineart of Evelon pets (o.O; ) I decided I'd paint a few of my own spiecies, enjoy. <3



Name: Unknown
Rarity/type: Common
Color scheme: Black, teal, and neon purple.
Notes: Neopurple=glow. Glow is optional.
Details: The base of the body is black, of course, with teal or Bright blue stripes that may or may not lead into swirls. Glow is neon purple, and to make seeing the pet outline a bit easier I reco mend using the glow as an outliner, as seen above.

 


Name: Monochromania
Color scheme: Black, white, light and dark grey, and the chosen glow color.
Rarity/type: Rare?
Notes: Glow is optional, but the glow is more fun. xD
Details: Ok. The base of the pet will normally be white with black dipped feet/paws/fims/claw/wings/whatever, the paws/feet/whatever of the creature will also probably have a slight tint of the glow around it.. Spots are commonly found near the hip of the creature. They are more likely to be Light grey, with a dark grey underbelly. Underbelly matches the 'half mask' on the creatures face. Eyes can be any color.

For winged creatues the tip of the wings would probably match the underbelly, if so chose.

Glows: Now, the Glows arnt final, they can be any color and normally bubble off a bit. I prefer the light blues, light greens, and most neon colors. I used the fade tool on the Glow layer to make is appear transparent. I also used a bit of smudging to make the bloobs appear...well...blobby. [/list]

Pets of this color have a main, almost teal, color with seafoam markings, acenting their bodies like little waves. Smaller parts of the body, usually the undersides and such, range from a dark tan, to a light cream. These pets are outgoing and love to splash through the water on beaches. Oddly enough, the first of their kind was found on a beach!
(Also, they'd have a light blue aura.)

Oh dear... I believe Einsor has been working with someone... or some thing... These pets, unlike his others, don't require a lineart change. Instead they just have these new markings on them... Wait, haven't those been seen somewhere before? Oh dear... I'd suggest that everyone stay away from these things. They aren't friendly in the least and tend to have a bite worse then their bark if you understand.
(They'd also be cheaper then most Ein pets since there's no lineart change. Dun even have to bring a pet in. Just pay the money. And the aura around them would be purple.)

Oasis

Oasis pets, true to their name, prefer to make their homes in the rare oases of the Wilt'no Desert. Their skin is an orange-brown with a lighter yellow underbelly to match the sands, with green, brown, and light blue eyes and markings to symbolize the cool relief of their habitat.



Sleeper

Pets under the dominion of Nyssyldriel, these creatures hold sway over the realm of dreams. They can both travel through and influence the dreams of others, but are unable to dream themselves. These pets have a light brown skin with a lavender underbelly, light blue eyes, and navy, black, and light green markings.

Special: Monster

Monster pets are evil. Worse than Chaos. Worse that just about anything else. They're just plain mean. Seriously, don't mess with them. They're a roudy bunch, often forming misshapen bands and ransacking nearby villages.

Monsters, as the name suggests, are mutated forms of the normal pet (but are by no means Einsor's little experiments). Their colors are shades of black, red, and green. Most have elongated claws and teeth. Some, namely those that normally can fly, bear tattered remnants of wings. Their eyes glow red or green, depending on the creature.
