Fisher wasn't entirely sure how he'd gotten himself labeled as an official errand boy for the gods - or rather, one particularly annoying and lazy god that had an endless amount of tasks for him to complete. He honestly couldn't begin to guess what Amp needed a handful of random creatures for, but he had learned long ago to just not question anything if he wanted to maintain some semblance of sanity for the next eternity.

He avoided eye contact with the few people milling about as he waited in line, fiddling with his phone in an attempt to look far too busy to uphold a casual conversation. When the line had finally dissipated enough that he was able to reach the counter, he settled his list on top of it and gave the clerk a shy smile. "I'm sorry to bother you, but you wouldn't happen to have any of these would you?

Normally Amarantha wasn't the one to run these types of errands; Briory cared far more about holidays and the like than she did, and so tended to take charge. But today Briory had something else going on, some mysterious docent thing that required tromping around in the woods looking for mushrooms, and someone had to get this done, so here she was. She had foregone the usual array of skull pins in her hair this time, though. There was no need to dress up quite so much just to place an order.

"Hello!" She couldn't help being charmed by Briht's enthusiasm. "I'd like a Constellation Insonia, a Papillon Fenling, a Valkyrie Yonyuu, and a Timeless Nyghtmare, please!"

The timid voice came from a tousel-headed young man standing near the counter. Cye's hands were shoved deep in his pockets, and his shoulders hunched slightly forward. "I'm here for a birthday present," he half-whispered. "It's n-n-not for me, but... " He trailed off. The young woman running the shop didn't seem too intimidating. Why was this so difficult for him, he wondered. He really should have asked Sage to come instead, but he hated to impose on anyone.

Summoning what little nerve he had, Cye continued. "I n-need to order a grab bag. And some p-pets." His hands shook as he unfolded the list he had written. It was much easier than trying to stumble over all those names...

The young teen walked into the store, murmuring over his shoulder. Someone nearby glanced over strangely before averting their eyes in the manner people often do with those of mental illnesses. It was clear, after all, that the kid was not wearing any ear piece or earbuds that could justify this one-sided conversation.
"Yeah, this is definite- what do you...? When did I say that?" Monday continued, frowning at the empty air. He was actually talking to some local spirit, but none of these normal people could know that.
Finally, he turned away from the spirit with a roll of his eyes and beamed at the shopkeeper. "Hey, I'm here to pick up a birthday gift for Jaden! Here's the order my grandparents gave me," he said brightly before sliding forward an order sheet.

Donning a brand new outfit, an entirely new pair of pinstripe pants and a delicate lacy blouse, Toxic strolled into the little shop, though it was evident that she had a small limp. Her birthday had already come and gone before she even realized it. And, while it hadn't actually been that long since then, to her, it seemed like almost forever. A lot had happened in the last dozen days, and it only seemed like now, things might be beginning to settle down again. At least a little.

"Hello," she greeted with a faint smile. "My birthday was a few days ago. I hope it's not too late to claim anything? I'd like those, please," she said, as she began pointing them out and naming them off as she did.

As they were wont to do, Skrornvalr had the door open through telekinesis; it came just as naturally to them as doing so with their physical hand or even their foot. There was no need to fret over which method to use, they always went with which one came to them first; and usually, that method was through mental power.

Mist followed them as they took a sweeping gaze at their surroundings through the wrappings and robes that obscured their full form. And with only a glance to what was available, they strode up to the desk and set their eyes on the girl at the girl behind the counter. And once more, while no words were physically uttered, their desire was clear.

Curehtas, The Aqua Cavallion came prancing up towards the Birthday Boutique, grinning widely as he went. Of all the Guardians, he'd come to most appreciate his "depowered" form in this world--being able to run free as a horse was much better than being trapped as an infant! And he was on a special mission today: Visiting the Birthday Boutique to pick up a present for one of his oldest friends.

It seemed so strange to think about the fact that they'd been friends for more than fifteen years at this point. And strange that fifteen years now seemed significant! He was an ageless immortal, and Freezair was merely a mortal. Yet since knowing her, he'd come to live his life on her terms. And he felt he enjoyed things more this way; days no longer passed in a samey haze, and he felt the small joy in things like the blooming of flowers and the smell of soap. He was better for it.

But he had to shake himself free to actually speak to the staff of the Boutique. "Hey! I'm gonna need some of your party supplies. My bud is turning a pretty significant age. I can't believe she'll be 30 already! But I need to grab some presents, too. I hear she'd like these things..."

It was rare for him to come to this part of Evelon, the trip usually not being worth it when he could just order online and have whatever he wanted shipped to him. But this visit called for a bit of a personal touch. At the counter, he gave a friendly smile and leaned on the hardwood surface as he perused the list of available creatures for the year. "Hey there! I'd like to pick up a few things for someone who's a little unenthused with their birthday this year. Mind helping me make things a little more enjoyable for her?" He pointed at the listed options, "I think she'll enjoy a Libra Imeut, Totem Garudor, Valkyrie Yonyuu, and Timeless Nyghtmare, they're totally aesthetics she loves. "Another year, another birthday. I wonder how old this makes me now," the black mass that entered quickly shaped itself into a humanoid figure, albeit one that looked monstrous. Delirium thought it to be easiest to take on her Klyntar form in order to do business. It wasn't like she disliked having birthdays, it was just a concept that seemed a bit superfluous to her anymore. She was an Elder God, and one that was her namesake--- among other things, so adjusting to how things were on the mortal plane always confused her.

"So hey... I'm here for some things. An Opal Stargoyle, Totem Garudor, Valkyrie Yonyuu, and a Timeless Nyghtmare. That should be it then. Later."

Another year gone. Everyone had been asking her is she felt any older. Every time she told them no - she didn't feel any older. In the grand scheme of having more past memories than future memories, yes perhaps she felt older, but overall or in the sense that they wanted her to feel older? No, she felt no older. Extraordinary existential crisis aside, there were certain perks to the perceived 'older-ness'.

"I can't believe I forgot my birthday...again," the small fenling muttered to himself as he finally dragged his corpse to the Birthday Boutique. How he had managed to do this again is beyond him, but then again the doctors did say stress caused memory problems and loss. Which explained a lot. Oh well he was here now so he can this over with before he forgot again.

"Excuse me, but I'm here to pick up my prizes or whatever for this year."

He stared hard at the signs before making a decision.

What was a year? What went into it? It was almost strange to measure time this way, but on the other hand, how else could you? Rotations around the sun were a lot more sensible to measure than, say, bird migrations or the changing of seasons. Those could be subjective. But going around the sun was regular, precise. Speeding up every now and then, but still reliably predictable.

What was she here for again? Oh, right. Pets.

"Hello!" The girl said cheerfully, a request in writing and with a signature all ready to be turned in. "This is what I'm here for this year!" And that was that.

Gabriel strolled into the shop, the leather of his boots creaking as he shrugged the matching jacket off of his shoulders. He was on his way to a costume birthday party, and had stopped in to pick up his gift on the way.

Checking his watch, he chuckled softly to himself - he was lucky this place seemed to be open 24 hours a day; where he was, it was already after midnight on the guest of honour's actual birthday, though why they had wanted a party that started after midnight was beyond him.

As he waited patiently to be served, he checked the listing of what was available to make his selection, so that when the shop keeper was able to tend to him he wouldn't have to make them wait too long.

"Hello! I'm here to pick up a Birthday gift!" He declared with a cheeky smile; "I'd like one Nian Fellox, one Papillon Fenling, one Valkyrie Yonyuu, and one Chow Sleepyheart please, in shiny purple paper if you could."
