Ah, another order they had to settle before it was too late! They were ahead enough for this one, though, with still about a whole week left. But they knew exactly what they would do if they didn't take care of it right now: they would keep reporting it, and they would keep saying, "I'll do it tomorrow," until the next month rolled around. It had happened once, and it could happen again.

So they wasted no time this year. Two birds with one stone while they were doing all this shopping!

Luce glanced around at the various decorations while the clerk read over the sticky note containing his request. Saryn honestly had no idea why he was here, still smelling of sewer, for some employer who never even showed him their face. Too boot, it was the same employer who’d sent him on that bizarre mission in the sewer. Why they had gone to the lengths to hire him rather than just show up themselves, he didn’t know. (Unbeknownst to him, of course, they were just constantly leaving things to the last possible minute and felt it was just faster to yeet him along than take the trouble to sort out someone else…)

At least he’d finally gotten rid of that cat.

Stepping out from the shadow he’d instinctively waited in, Saryn tossed forward his employer’s bag of money and a form they had tucked inside. As soon as the person’s eyes left him, Saryn was gone.

It was a low-key year as far as birthdays went. Sure it was technically the 'golden' birthday year but that wasn't really anything special. That was more for people who just wanted an excuse to go a little bit more crazy than usual. Not her, she was content with buying a bottle of bubbles, a couple blocks of nice cheese and watching shitty television at home.

Aurie walked into the shop, excitement buzzing in her stomach. Free stuff was the hallmark of birthdays and what was better than free friends? She grinned as she looked at this years offerings. It was thankfully an easy choice and looking to the shopkeep she made her order.

Though, picking up ice cream was decided to be their last stop, while shopping around came first. As such, when she pointed out the store she had some interest in, Z nodded and held the door open, ushering the woman inside before following after her.

Timothy slipped into the shop, his delicate footsteps barely a whisper in the hubbub. He swallowed nervously as he looked around, and clutched the list tightly in his paw.

Slowly, he weaved his way between the shoppers until he found himself at the counter, and unfolded the list carefully before placing it on the counter top with a trembling paw.

'I'd like these things, please - I know she hasn't been through in a while, but she's still around and she'd be so sad if she missed it..."

His voice trailed off, and he sighed with relief as he watched the shopkeeper make her way over to the shelves with his list in hand.

What a strange year... what a speedy year! It had all gone by so fast, the little white bird was still very much in a tizzy of bewilderment as she trudged through the snow. Christmas... had already come and gone. The new year was fast approaching, and there were... oh god, so many things to do. Just so many. The little bird was positively panting as she burst into the doors of the Boutique, steps heavy and thudding and caked with powdery snow as she stumbled up to the counter, and gave it three stiff, loud taps with her beak. If there was any safe bet in the universe, it was that Chase was always forgetting something. This time, she had forgotten something that was important to most people.
