The mental debate had gone on between the two for what felt like ages. Words were never exactly exchanged, out loud or telepathically - no, this had all occurred strictly in thoughts. Xyshari had caught Lana wondering about the potion in the strange shop, only for the thoughts to immediately vanish. Then, Lana had caught Xyshari wondering about the very same potion not even a week later.

Honestly, this is worse than when you kept mulling over my jokes about you defecting, Xyshari had thought as she shook her head at Lana one night before going out to that very shop, approaching the counter confidently as she placed the carefully-measured bag of Keystones on the counter.

"I would... like to acquire one of those Elixirs of Fertility," she said, putting up some mental guards around her thoughts. "I'll be paying in Keystones, if you please."

It hadn't been much more than a month since her last visit, and Kitsumi was back again for more potions. She knew that she didn't really need any more... after all, she still had yet to use the ones she had recently purchased. But that didn't stop her from coming back again, with a bag of keystones that had already been counted out. Oh yes, she had done quite a bit of planning for this purchase. "I'd like to purchase an Emission Liquor and two palette potions, please," she said.

"Excuse me, I need to place a couple of orders. Could I please order one generative draught sent to GrayGriffin for 50 keystones, and one Elixir of Fertility to Kitsumi for 175 keystones?

Leather jacket on and shoulders pulled back, Gabriel strode into the shop and stopped, staring around him. Ordinarily the myriad glass bottles didn't phase him, but the sight of them being used as Christmas decorations threw him for a loop.

Momentarily distracted, he didn't notice the shopkeeper staring at him with a raised eyebrow until he realised the bell on the door behind him had tinkled, indicating the previous customers had left. He blushed, though it wasn't really visible behind his fur, and stepped toward the counter.

"Sorry" he muttered, holding out his bag of Keystones. "I'd like One Generative Draught and One Elixir of Fertility please, both to be paid in Keystones.

Gabriel hurried back into the shop, just as he saw the shopkeeper step out from behind the counter to begin closing down for the night.

"Hey, wait, look - I'm really sorry, it seems I had forgotten one of the potions I was supposed to buy." He rifled through his pockets for a moment, before pulling out a small folded piece of paper, and squinting at what was written on it in Rheese's tiny handwriting.

"It says here I need to buy One Emission Liquor" he said, holding both the note and a bag of Keystones out towards the shopkeeper. "Do you have any in stock?"

They were just glad they could make it happen, and that they hadn't forgotten. Buying these potions from this old wizard felt... dirty. There was really no other way to put it. She'd been raised that the older generation shouldn't know what happens in the bedroom, especially if you were getting items to... 'Spice' things up. The woman shuddered and zipped up her huge hoody all the way up to her neck. What if she saw Kelloc outside of this shop? What if her parents shopped here? No, no, no, no. She squeezed her eyes shut, desperately trying to get that image out of her head.

Right, she had a list. She'd better just buy the two things and get on with her life. She wasn't doing anything wrong, she was just picking up a couple items. Still, that didn't prevent her from searching for something innocuous to buy with the potions, as if that'd somehow cover up what else she was buying. In fact, when she found out that the Emission liquor was glowing and that it could in no way be mistaken for something else, she almost ran out of the store right then and there.

At least the Elixir of Fertility was mostly chaste feeling. Children were a noble pursuit for anyone, especially for those who couldn't normally have kids. Just buy them already. This is ridiculous. The woman closed her eyes, and tried to steel her nerves before walking up to Kelloc.

"Uh, just these two items thank you. I believe this is the correct payment amount." Her eyes stayed firmly on the items she was buying, refusing to meet eyes with the man. Why was this so embarrassing?

Theoretically, visiting the Mage's Brewery should've been a task she enjoyed. She liked excitement, drama, fascinating and strange objects - and what could be more of that than the challenge of picking up and delivering strange concoctions from a renowned, honest-to-goodness magician?

Then she'd done a little research and learned that these were, in fact, fertility potions. Now, she had nothing against those who made that choice, but having children? Wasn't that most terribly domestic, unadventurous thing someone could do? How could someone fly around doing the all-important acts of delivering suspicious packages and fighting off package thieves when they also had to sit on a clutch on eggs?

Really, why hadn't he just asked her to run the errands earlier?

This realization didn't come to her until well into the evening, where she was already out to run an errand to get some things. And by the time she was inside the shop, at the front of the line, she seemed somewhat distracted. Like as though she was lost among her thoughts.

Plenty had happened for her to reflect on, now that she was on this track, and such pondering made her wonder about all sorts of things. It wasn't until someone else had loudly cleared their throat before she could finally pay enough attention to what she was supposed to be doing. "Um... Right. Can I get these?" She mewed in a still absent-minded manner.

Gabriel strode into the shop, pleased to see the bright new signs that were in place. It was a New Year, and he was hopeful it would be bright and beautiful, a strange outlook when he considered what he was like in the past.

His heavy boots caused footsteps to echo as he walked towards the counter, and greeted the old man politely.

"Good afternoon" he said, fiddling with the pocket of his trousers until he was able to extract his Keystone pouch. "I would like to purchase One Generative Draught, please - I believe it is the only one I can get this year? I thought I'd get it done early, so I don't miss out on it. I believe that is 50 Keystones?"
