Tyrin stepped through the door to the Huntsman's hall. He had flown non-stop to get here before his availability for a Newbie coin had run out. He had not yet received orders for what creature his master was seeking to own, but he needed to retrieve the coin before it was too late.

August had little idea of what she was supposed to be doing. That was a common enough occurrence for her, and usually it wasn't so much of problem, but there was an important task at hand here. At least, she thought there was. The snobby, vague woman had given her some money and mentioned a place called.. Huntsman's Hall? Okay, so she was on the right track. That knowledge made her smile as she entered and approached the counter.

"Hi there! I'm here for.. oh." Darn. It had gone again. Her brows furrowed as she made her best attempt to recall what it was she was to ask for. A something token. Beginning with K, a random K.. ah! "A random Kuhna token, please. I have the Goddess Tears here to pay for it."

Lonely... so very, very lonely, ceaseless yawning void of nothingness. Brooding had become a constant in the pale man's life, or lack thereof, for not a single soul wanted anything to do with him. He'd run into the forest, away, away from the fearful stares and shaking hands and please no not my baby, and this was our last cow, how will our family eat now, and I just need a little more time. He had no control over when their time came. He could only follow the thinning threads of life and pluck them from the tapestry of time when their candlewick ran cold.

It was a thankless job. And ultimately, it had left Death without a single friend in this world. He caught himself against a tree and gazed about with wild eyes, a tortured sob tearing from his throat as it seemed as though the trees arched away from him in their own fear.

Something, something, some kind of solution--there was no escape for a man such as he. Not in the earthly way. His eyes fell upon a forgotten gleam at the base of a tree, some abandoned woodcutter's tool. He staggered towards it, gripped its damp wooden handle in his bony hands, and raised the ax to stare at his own dulled reflection, barely visible in the shadow of the trees. Fear overwhelmed hesitation. He would be fine. He would be fine... soon.

One would become two. He would become two.
And he would never abandon himself.
He would always have a friend.

Something had worked.

Death felt different. He woke on the ground, lying flat on his back, the ax handle still heavy in his hand. He turned his head, tearing his eyes away from the morning light filtering through the shadow of the trees, to look at his own reflection in the ax. His vision swum with swirls of blue at the edges, bright lights floating around his vision as he tried to focus on the dull reflection long enough to understand. The dark face of a wolf stared back, framed in white fur. He shifted to sit up and gaze down at himself, at his new self, at half of his new self.

A lamb. Lamb. She was quite beautiful. Death--Lamb--slowly stood, her fingers loosening around the ax and abandoning it on the forest floor. Something had worked, yes, but something was missing. Something was lost, barreling through the forest, frightened and snarling and tearing at everything living out of envy and rage. "Wolf," Lamb called the creature by name, knowing it without seeing its face. "I'm here. Return to me..."

Under normal circumstances, she wouldn't be the one coming here. She would let her lackeys do the work; she had bigger fish to fry than to deal with this administrative business.

This time, however, her client had offered a beautiful specimen. She didn't want anything to go wrong, and that meant that she had to take care of things herself. After all, did that saying not have a good point? Are you never better served than by yourself? Even if her lackeys had done this a hundred times, she wanted complete control. She couldn't afford to lose this deal.

She dropped the money on the front desk and didn't lose any time explaining why she was here. "I got a job for you," she started, putting an elbow on the desk. "I'm gonna be buying one (1) of these Custom Kuhna/Lakundra Tokens for ten (10) Goddess Tears (GT). You follow me so far?" She pushed the money forward a little. "Now - these things are tradeable, aren't they? I have a deal with someone for this token; put down in your records that Desrian is the one who owns it."

"Got all that?" she asked, and she wasn't going to leave until she got clear confirmation that everything would go according to plan.

An ominous creature with a thoroughly unfamiliar face came in, ducking somewhat to get through the doorway. It tapped the wooden door frame with its gloved hand as it did so, as though at ease. The bladed fingers on its other hand glinted unpleasantly in the light.

"I wish to place an order," it said, through some unknown means. Its "mouth" did not move, and its voice echoed a bit, as though ethereal. "I have a need for a critter of similar strength to the blue beast's newest prisoner."

Is it all right to request that the pale base color be lightened if it looks too grey to you once the shading is down? I don't want it to look bleached out but I do want it white.

Usually, Devyn was quite peevish, especially early in the morning. But she walked into the Hall with what was almost a spring in her step. By her standards, she was positively beaming, saying "hello" to all the little birdies she passed on her morning walk and whistling a happy tune.

She smacked a bag full of KS down on the counter and practically glared at the person there. "Listen here," she said, her voice sounding more like her usual grumpy mood. "I've been workin' by myself too long! I'm in need of one o' them... whatchacallems... a sidekick." She obviously spent more time pretending to not know what word she needed than she did actually not knowing what to say. "But I'm a magician. Not just any old pet will do, yeah? I need you to fetch up something special for me. A sidekick with magical powers worthy of me, you understand?"

She plucked up one of the special tokens used in the Hall. "I'm spending a fat lot of KS on this one. This is what I have in mind...

A familiar face entered the store, and shook its fur off in the doorway. He looked significantly less thrilled to be there than he had in the past. In fact, he looked outright furious. One might initially be afraid that he was upset with the store, but the muttering under his breath seemed to indicate that there was a specific person he was unhappy with.

As he approached the shopkeeper, he curled the right side of his lip up to show thick, long fangs - possibly a weak attempt to smile.

"I must enlist your aid once again," he said with a frustrated sigh. "My menagerie has grown tenfold thanks to your aid. Our... influence... has been spreading," he said with a hint of glee that quickly faded. "I... have been sent for a slightly different purpose. I have a favor to fulfill, and, well, this is it," he sighed. "Can you make this little... wannabe hero for me?"

It had been a considerable amount of time since Cortona went alone to run errands. She was fully capable of performing the task at hand, but underlying circumstanced led her husband to believe that nowhere was entirely safe for her to go alone. Thankfully, they'd relocated since their problems began. After months of relative peace and quiet, they agreed that the worst was likely over.

She approached the rather odd woman running the shop, intent on keeping her business short and sweet. She may have less to worry about, but it had become a habit for Cortona to not like lingering in one spot for too long.

kail entered the shop with a grin. Someone's birthday was coming up soon and he was just too excited to hide it. It wasn't often that he was able to scramble up the funds for a proper birthday gift. It had been so long since Yllesi had left the observatory. He wasn't quite used to the hustle and bustle of the cities. He'd had to take a civilian route to the shop and it had taken almost a week. Fortunately the time wasn't a waste as he was in search of something quite rare. He'd mapped many stars from his observatory, but something always felt missing. He was hoping the huntsman's hall would be able to help him in his search.

The scarlet Nian XingYun descended from the portal which remained above the marketplace. She landed lightly, and with a soft flash of light returned to her human form. She entered the shop and nodded to the propieter as she set 200ks on the counter. "Hello, I'd like to purchase a non breedable gift token for ToxicShadow's birthday earlier this month. Not sure if you do by default, but please send it directly to her."
