Now long ago he'd caught wind that another had made his way to the streets. The experiments were concluding and soon the boys would become the weapons they were always meant to be. Lucas would make sure he'd get them before they had a chance to hurt anyone.

"They want t-t-to use this t-t-token," he continued to stutter, smiling sheepishly. He hoped the stuttering wouldn't make this person feel awkward. He couldn't control it. "Th-thank you!"

A strange feline creature scrambled through the door into the hall. The grandeur of the building and the various treasures scattered around reminded him of the hunter's guild back at home. Only this place assured no harm came to the individual creatures, unlike in the hunter's guild.

He ran on all fours up to the counter then stood up on two. Eyes glittering with excitement in regards to finally getting assigned his first mission in this place. It might not have been as exciting as life as palico but it would have to do for now.

A flash of red and a teenager materialized, the Trinity she'd just been piloting floating idly next to her. She'd finally done it! She'd finally collected those damn blueprints and the materials necessary to rebuild this frame. Yep. Rebuild. Mag had been her original frame, but after being tagged by Zanuka and abducted, they'd deemed it necessary to destroy and rebuild it, just to be sure a working frame didn't fall into the mad corpus scientist's hands.

Of course, since Mag had always been her original frame, since before the war, that meant that she'd never owned the original blueprints to begin with...

But that was behind her. Now was the time to rebuild and reconnect with Mag. Zeroh had to admit, she as a bit nervous about the whole deal, but she just had to suck it up and get it over with.

Shyster had, for once in his life, honest-to-god just been minding his own business. Stray had run off with that boy for the day (Shyster couldn't trust that boy as far as he could throw him, but all attempts at warning Stray away had fallen through, so he told himself he simply didn't care anymore), and the shop was gathering dust. His supplier of add-ons had been away on more difficult business for so long. Perhaps things would pick up again... Shyster sort of missed the thrill of smuggling items across Evelon's borders for clients. There was a rush to it. Shyster wondered if it was normal for 30-somethings to chase thrills like that. It was too early for a midlife crisis.

Shyster nearly jumped out of his skin with a mix of surprise and excitement as his phone buzzed in his pocket. He jammed a hand inside and whipped the old flip phone out, holding it to his ear with a practiced smarmy smirk. "Nyeeello, Tallyhash Goods and Services, patent pending, this is Shyster sp--" Shyster cut off at the voice on the other end of the line, his entire posture falling to a defeated slump. "Oh. Lovely. It's you." He let the voice prattle on for a moment about stolen artwork, or needing some artwork stolen, something like that, and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Yeezus, slow the hell down, I've got a rager of a headache right now... yeah. Yeah, alright. Look, man, you owe me big time for this. It's not my division." He scowled, kicking at a rock in his path as he walked, and rolled his eyes at the insistent tone in his (debatably) friend's voice. "I've gotchya covered, Eybis. Just... untie that poor person, yeah? Geez."

Today, though, he had a special little mission to add to his regular shopping. His good friend was having a very special day, and he thought long and hard about what to get them. Eventually he settled on the Huntsman's Hall. The hunstmen had helped him before, so he thought he would get a coupon for his friend. As it turned out, they even sold specialty coupons for this very purpose! What a good idea.

Leo stood in front of the store, staring at it, and tried not to feel self conscious. Theoretically this wasn't even remotely a daunting sort of errand. He was just going to walk in, pick out a gift, pay for it, and walk out. He dealt with his sister every day, so it wasn't as if the cashier could throw anything new at him. He'd been to law school. This was fine.

Except somehow, it wasn't. What if Oliver didn't like it? Personal gifts were tricky, and he wasn't used to buying them for people he hadn't already known for years on end. Sure, his family was hard to buy for, but at least he knew their rules. With Oliver, there was a real and present risk of making a mistake.

What if it was too expensive? Some people didn't like that. Not generally people Leo was acquainted with, but they existed.

He knew he wasn't getting anywhere just standing there though, and he could see someone inside starting to frown at him. He had been ridiculous long enough. He could at least walk in.

Once he was inside, the person who had been staring at him--- an employee?--- subsided, and Leo was left to browse in peace. Well, relative peace, anyway. There was still the ever-looming threat of choosing the wrong thing. As it was, he very nearly decided to walk out without buying anything at all, but... something did catch his eye.

Cici had been very alone for a very long time. There had been no one to talk to since AggRO left, which was...well, Cici tended to have trouble keeping track of the time in her small, enclosed world. Usually, the digital counterpart whom she regarded as a 'sister' returned at least on a semi-regular basis to check up on her, if anything, just to ensure that she hadn't broken out of what boundaries currently held her in place. It wasn't so much to protect the rest of the world from the nature of her malware, but rather to keep her from wandering off and getting lost somewhere in the endless oblivion of the internet. After all, considering the glitches in Cici's programming, it was a wonder she still managed to function half as well as she did today.

It was in one of those many, many quiet moments that Cici had heard a voice, a voice that came from just behind her, but somehow was never there when she turned to seek it out. She searched high and low in the limited space within which she had the freedom to wander, but to no avail - there was no one to be found. Then, one day, in spite of all of the countless warnings she'd received in the past from AggRO, she dared to peek behind the walls of the digital prison which she called home.

He was almost definitely not supposed to be here. But sometimes he just wanted some time to himself that wasn't in the compound.

The shop looked colorful. It wasn't very full. He didn't think it was such a bad idea to come in for a while.
