PSD Layer Grouping

Postby Flame » 04/05/2015 11:34 PM

Hokay, so I've been using a trial version of Photoshop CC 2014, and it's since expired for me, so what I'm now working with is Photoshop Elements 10. The issue that I'm having with the program is the fact that I can't actually open any of the layer groups in the file (e.g. Markings, Minimarks, etc.). So, after a little preliminary research, it turns out that Photoshop has intentionally made it so that all programs as of PE10 (of course, the program that I DO own) are incapable of opening layer groups. However, it does say that if you have someone with the current Photoshop remove all of the layer groups, then you should be able to use the files normally.

My question is, is there any chance alternative versions of the files with layer grouping removed could be made and posted for people with earlier versions of Photoshop? I don't have the money to throw $360 annually at Adobe for a subscription to the current version of Photoshop, especially since I only really use it for doodling and breedable previews. X3

Any help is appreciated, and thanks ahead of time! <3

There should be a free downloadable version of Photoshop CS2 that should be able to open groups. Aside from that I can say that I doubt that a file with out groups will exist since evelon relies on them.

Well, you could always go here and follow the instructions to get cs2 for free. o 3o They put it out for free a while ago and might be releasing cs3 eventually. It's what I use and, better yet, it's not just Photoshop. You can get the whole of cs2 (like, every program in the suite) if you want or just download the individual programs you feel you'll use.

I was having some trouble downloading CS2 at first, but the link with instructions that you posted worked perfectly, Azura. <3 Now I can save a pretty penny and continue messing around with the PSDs. Thanks so much, both of you! :D
