Paragon Gender Question

Postby zapdragon555 » 04/12/2015 1:40 PM

Idk if this has ever been brought up before BUT okay,, so let's say I have this Placid Paragon that I really want to make a male character for. Obviously this isn't a thing as far as the lineart-biology of the pet, but if I called it a boy and used a LLP every time I bred the Placid with a male (or heck, just used an LLP/ELE with ANY breeding to prevent confusion), would that be allowed? Like I know the Paragon would still be listed under the Female Paragon List and Locator, and would look no different than any other Placid, but I would use he/him/his pronouns for it and call it male in my pen. Idk why this wouldn't be allowed actually now that I think about it but I wanna make sure just in case. x'DD

This also kinda goes for Orchid Leawolves, Nago Paragon, Fairy Paragon, etc. Are these sorts of things allowed, as long as no actual special treatment regarding breeding is given?

As far as I know, I believe that's fine, but the only difference is that you'd just have to use an LLP when you want to breed it to another female. I know that Toxic has a similar character for one of her Lucain (a female Lucain that actually is a male character) and she attached an ELE to it so that it could freely breed with Lucain of the same gender. But yeah, I believe you're allowed to do whatever you want with your pets as long as you follow the breeding conventions listed for your species/gender. So your paragon would still breed as a female paragon, but you could use LLPs/ELEs to breed it with other female paragon.

Ohh so in other words, if I were to breed the male-placid to a male Paragon, I wouldn't need a potion? o3o  That kinda makes sense. I'll wait for a mod to confirm but yeah thanks a ton! <33

Yup, I believe that's correct, since your paragon would still (by nature/coding) be a female. But yeah, you'd definitely want a mod's official word on it first to know 100% for sure. :3

By experience, I will say that you do not need to use a potion to breed a "male Placid," to another male Paragon, because a Placid is still female, for all intents and purposes. As Flame mentioned, I have characters whose gender don't match their set pet gender.

I have more than just one, one of which is a male Lucain, that I use for two AUs of one character. One AU is male, one AU is female. I have breed it both as the male AU and as the female AU. When I breed it with a female, because it is still a male Lucain by image and code, it does not require a potion. However, when I breed it with another male Lucain, it requires a potion, regardless of which gender character AU I am using.
