As the organizer of the 2007 Secret Santa, I consider myself responsible for ensuring that all the gifts get out. According to my list, I have two people who signed up who have not sent their gifts yet (more than a week after Christmas) and who have not replied to my PM's asking them about the status of their gifts. I don't mean to be, well, mean, but is there anything that I, as a non-mod, can do or get a mod to help me with to--well, do something about this? One of the members who signed up, although they PM'd me confirming their participation and understanding of the rules, seems to have vanished from the site (hasn't signed on in 2 weeks or so), and the other has a similar issue, although they've been on more recently. Is there anything that can be done about these gift-giving absentees? Although unofficial, it does seem to me that not giving a gift--when the rules of the exchange explicity state the necessity of doing so--could constitute a failure to pay a debt.

Well.. I really don't know what a mod could do. I don't want to punish someone when we don't know what happened - for all we know, something happened and those members lost internet access for whatever reason. There is also a chance that they just forgot, but I don't want to punish people when there is a chance they have done nothing wrong. Kennit? People vanishing has always been a problem around here, unfortunately..

OK. Fair thing. I just feel really bad that some people haven't gotten their gifts yet. Is there any period of time you would recommend for this sort of thing?

Well... what happens when the time period runs out? @_@ See how hard this is to enforce? I just recommend.. sending them PMs and waiting. If you see that they've read your PMs and still aren't giving the gifts, then it's time to get angry. At that point I might be willing to talk to them.
