While amphibious, the Kuni is much more at home in any large body of salt water. Their bodies are dense and are able to withstand the deep sea pressure in order to scour their habitat for small crustaceans and fish. Their irises are bio-luminescent and actually aid the Kuni in seeing in the dark. During mating season, they swim near the shores and the sight of their collective eyes makes the seas look as though it is glowing. They can produce a small, high pitch sound for communication.
