You enter a brightly-lit cavern, a surprising sanctuary hidden through a crack in a mountain wall. On the inside, sunlight filters through a skylight high above your head, creating shifting patterns on the walls. More light comes from strange, glowing blue crystals, shining around the floor of the cave. Though the air outside is cold, a warmth infuses the whole cavern, and there is no snow inside here.
A few passageways go off from the main room, all brightly lit and welcoming.

A voice echoes through the caverns.

Who are you? Why are you here? Do you think that you belong here?
Maybe you do. Who knows? Only time can tell these things, so why don't we wait and see?

Personality: Asteri believes that things always happen for a reason. Destinies and fates are things that are tangible, to her, and she believes that if you really understand your destiny you have the power to shape it however you want. She can see pets' auras, which she believes show their destiny and their inner selves.
Asteri loves the stars, and the night sky. She is very smart, and she likes to learn new things. She's kind to others, and usually soft-spoken, even despite her past.
She was held prisoner by a group of Imperials who were angry about their loss in the war. She had to work for them, and was rarely let outside. Eventually, Purines came to rescue her and the others from the renegade Imperials, but they destroyed so much that Asteri didn't want to be near them either, and she ran away.
She met Veritas on the night of the prophecy...

Personality: Dinaeri can seem a bit... prickly, at first impressions. She doesn't tolerate any nonsense, and it can take a while to get to know her. However, she really is nice once you get to know her, and she's always very fair. She can be funny, too, and she does have a good sense of humor. She'll stick up for anyone being unfairly accused or punished, and she's certainly outspoken enough that you'd know about it. She'll always speak her mind.
Dinaeri believes in justice and equality. Womens' rights, especially, and racial equality is very important to her. She really thinks about issues, and once she makes up her mind about something it's impossible to change her mind.
One thing she really likes is words. Liturature and writing and putting-words-together-in-interesting-ways. She loves music and poetry, and she believes that almost anything can be shown through words and language.
She's peaceful, and she believes in non-violence. And yet, her past is almost the opposite of that. Dinaeri was once a soldier, in the Purine/Imperial war. She fought for the Purines, and she was an efficient general and fighter. She hates that part of her life and she would do almost anything to make up for it.

Personality: Echo isn't exactly from around here. She's not really sure who or what she is, but she has an ability to heal people that is beyond any she's seen before. She's also vaguely telepathic, and while she can't read minds she can sense strong emotions. She's generally very quiet and reserved, preferring to simply watch and listen.
Some say she can be invisible too, but that may be an exxagerration. She does seem to be able to get people to... just not notice her. She has little ambition, preferring just to help those she can and not be the center of attention. She's often overlooked, which she is perfectly happy with though those who know her well think she deserves more then that.
She's very smart, and she's creative.

Poor Equinox. He's fallen in love with the wrong kuhna.
Apparently Siren's charm had a lasting effect on this little guy. He's in love with her and can't see past it to her manipulative ways. Nothing she does can get rid of him.
Equinox is a very optimistic kuhna. he always seems to see the bright side of things, and he is friendly toward everyone. He can be slightly blind to the truth, but that's part of what makes him who he is. He's very trusting and he rarely lies.
Equinox can speak the human language, which makes him the only pet who can talk to Silver. This drives Siren absolutely crazy, because he has an ability she does not.

Personality: Hielo is a selfish con artist, basicly. He's not very good at what he does though, and it has put him on the bad side of Toxa. He uses his skull to trick people, by pretending it's magic. He claims it can heal, levitate, create keystones- whatever he thinks is necissary. He tricks people into paying him to see these things, and he gets them to believe it. However, as soon as they figure it out, they can ussually find him. He's not that hard to track down, being somewhat nervous and clumsy when he's not performing his tricks.

Itzli is pretty much a mortal 'god' of the dead. He can walk between the realms of the dead and the living, but his lifespan is as short as any other pet's.
Itzli loves sacrifices. If he needs to, he'll kill them himself, but he enjoys it more when others sacrifice things for him. He loves war and fighting, and death. The more dead things there are, the happier he is. He constantly manipulates the living, trying to hurt them or turn them against each other. He is unfeeling, and doesn't care about anyone else. He is obsessed with rituals and ceremonies.

Personality: Kael is best described as brave. He is young, and unexperienced, but he feels in his blood the need to fight. He is a warrior at heart.
Kael is very honorable. At least, he tries to be. He may not be the best fighter yet, either, but his spirit never lets him down. In any situation, Kael will throw himself in with no regard to his own safety, especially if he is protecting someone he cares about. He is extremely loyal, and will defend what he believes in even if it kills him.
Kael needs more time before he can truely be who he wants to be. His lack of experience sometimes puts him in dangerous situations, even if his fighting skills can get him out afterwards. But inside, Kael has a truely good heart.

Personality:
Omega is only logic. He has no emotion whatsoever, and most believe that long ago he lost a key component of himself. He isn't evil or malicious, but he simply does whatever he thinks is logical. He's very intelligent, which can annoy those who don't realize that he's not trying to show off; he's just giving advice or stating some part of his knowledge. His 'eyes' tend to glow whenever he's thinking, which is most of the time.
He seems to have a strange compulsion to help people. It's not tied to emotion, and it seems to be something much deeper. Omega says he does it because it's logical, but sometimes that's hard to believe.
History:
Omega, though he doesn't know it, was designed to be a fighter. He was contructed by an insane fellox named Trelos, and he was suppossed to fight in the war. He was the last one made, because he ended up being too powerful. Trelos underestimated what he had created, and Omega broke free, destroying part of Medicai City before someone knocked out the part of him that Trelos had inserted. He went offline and when he was awake again he had no memory of how or why he was created. Some think the reason he helps people is because of a program he created himself before he went offline, to try to atone for what he had done.

Personality/History:
Sageeth has been fighting his inner darkness all his life- though he wants the ideals he’s seen others represent, his destiny has taken a much different path.
Born into a very wealthy family, he was set in a conflict against his father from early in his life. He learned to be secretive, manipulative, and he was very, very smart. He learned how to control other people, how to get them to do what he wanted, how to find their darkest secret and turn it against them.  He had more than his fair share of tragedies, too—his brother was accidentally killed by his mom when he was very young, and he took the blame for it, knowing his father wouldn’t hurt him but he might hurt his mom if he knew the truth. His mother later died too—leaving him to inherit his father’s legacy. He’s had... mental problems, shall we say.
He is very intelligent. He knows a lot about many things, including strategy and how to exploit the darker side of people. He’s sometimes in over his head, but he always manages to escape anyway. He can figure out things very quickly, and it’s hard to trick him.
Sageeth can get extremely obsessive. He’s been so close to death so many times, and he will stop at nothing to find the answer to what brings him back from the edge. He’s destroyed the few friendships he had because of this; looking too far into their private lives and going way past the acceptable boundaries in his investigations.
He has few qualms about killing people, also.
As for his love life, he’s had some bad experiences. Anyone who wants to be with him has generally been either interested in his money only, or was trying to kill him. Or both.
He’s learned not to get too attached.
He usually tried to do the right thing, despite influences from his father and others around him. But he couldn’t help getting closer to slipping over the edge, by betraying, hurting, and alienating the few people he cared about. In the end, he couldn’t fight who he was—he was always destined to succumb to the dark shadow of his ambition.

History:
Serrah has been running from her past all her life. She grew up at the far corners of Evelon, and after her parents died, she had nowhere to go. She found another group of Lucain living in the mountains. Most of them were older than she was, but they didn't really mind. They let her live with them, giving her a path to survival.
What Serrah didn't know was that they were outcasts, from as long ago as the war. And she betrayed them- not on purpose, of course, but when she ran too far out of the mountains, people saw her, and followed. The outcasts were attacked, and Serrah watched them die. Then the leader of the hunt gave her a choice- kill her friend, or be killed herself.
And Serrah chose the option that would guarantee her own survival.
The patrol took her back to a small town near Basantha, but Serrah ran away as soon as she could. Living alone, she was afraid to get close to anyone. Eventually she made it to Lamenolai, and though she tried to stay apart from the others, this place was so different than the outcasts' home that she realized that maybe this time could be different.
But she is still haunted by her memories.

How many times do I have to prove myself?
Serrah finds it very hard to get close to anyone. After the incident in the mountains, she's avoided people, preferring to keep a low profile. People think she's shy, but really she's afraid of hurting them.
The things she hates most about herself is her fear. She's convinced herself she's a coward, and she despises herself for it. Because of it, her friends died, and it was her fault.
If you can get her to actually talk to you, she's nice enough, but there's always a hint of sadness about her. She'll never tell anyone, no matter how much she cared about them, about what happened in the mountains. She needs to make a new life now, and she won't let her past continue to haunt her anymore than it already does. She likes the stars, and the night sky, preferring to think about things that are bigger than herself and the people around her.

She is a good judge of character, and will use her abilities against you.  She may look harmless, or innocent, but she is very smart and has no qualms about doing something harmful to you to help herself. She can usually tell when pets are lying, at least the ones who are more life-like in appearance. She has never been able to read temple pets or mechanical pets.
She tries to figure out a secret that you have, so she can use it against you. She has few morals, and will use her abilities only for herself. She can easily fend for herself, and will snap at any pet who says otherwise. (unless it's to her advantage...)

Skotadi is pure evil. A kind of organic computer creature, he takes knowledge from his victems and then destroys them.
No one is sure how or when he was created, or why. He is extremely intelligent, and he can shapeshift to disguise himself in various forms. Unfortunately, the shapeshifting isn't exactly under control yet. In trying to turn into a human he might end up as a monkey instead, or in trying to turn into a Battleheart he might end up as a Sleepyheart. Understandably, he rarely tries to shift forms, preferring to stay an Obsidian Slydra.
Skol is most at home in darkness or shadows. He usually goes out at night, and rarely stays in the sunlight for very long. He tends to try to manipulate people and get them to trust him before he destroys them.

Personality:
Spiny’s sole goal in life is to rule the world. He calls himself the ‘Master of All Evil,’ and, truth be told, is not very smart. All his plans and schemes seem to fall apart. He’s somewhat delusional, and believes he has minions to carry out his bidding.  He despises most other creatures, and in turn is despised by others. Things seem to backfire on him, mostly because he isn’t as smart as the ones he is trying to hurt or he is too lazy to do it properly.
There’s really no hope of redeeming him. It would be best to stay out of his way.
History:
Spiny has had many dealings with a pure-white Urcise known as Bear, and a Kuhna named Zack. Nothing has gone very well for him.
He used to have a following, but after a spectacular fail, they all left him. He's been defeated by the smallest things. It's even rumored that a snicky once scared him away.
He has never been in love, and most certaintly never will be.

Personality: Toxa has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor. Usually she sees no point in making friends unless said friend is as smart as she is. She's somewhat morbid; apparently that has something to do with having poisonous skin. She accepts death as part of life, and since she believes in an afterlife she doesn't worry too much about her own death. She also doesn't worry too much about sending others to the afterlife.
She knows a lot about different poisons and antidotes, and she carries a vial of antidotes to her own poisons with her at all times, just in case she hurts someone accidentally. She does have a softer side, despite what your first impressions might be; she just doesn't display it very often.

Personality: To Trelos, the war isn't over.
A fierce Imperial supporter, Trelos hates his fellow soldiers for giving up the war. He will not accept the fact that they've lost; actually, he can seem slightly deranged if you catch him rambling on about the war. After the war was over, Trelos kept taking prisoners, trapping them in a place where they had to work for him. Most were Imperial; though almost none were actually Purine soldiers during the war. Even other species, including Kuhnas like Asteri, were locked up until a band of Purines came and released them. Trelos was the only one of the imperials who escaped with his life; and he quickly embarked on a new plan. He's a bit of a mad scientist, and he set about creating Khalmars. He put destructive programming in them, creating evil mindless war machines. Omega was the last; he somehow rejected his programming and almst killed Trelos once again. Currently, the Fellox is obsessed with finding his last creation.

Personality: Veritas knows that he has a destiny. There was a prophecy, long ago, that said, When the stars have fallen and the light is eclipsed, the savior of the truth will be revealed. He has a pure heart, and inside he can sense that there's something special about him. Knowing he can make a difference in others' lives is one thing, but actually doing something about it is another. Veritas is a kuhna who, once he knows how, will do all in his power to actually do something.
He has a very strong sense of justice and morality. Veritas will always defend the weak or the innocent, no matter what the circumstances. He is quick to trust people, for he believes that everyone has some good somewhere inside them. This can lead to trouble, for the world isn't as good as he would like to think.
He loves to watch the stars, and he looks to the sky for answers.
He seeks knowledge and truth, and he seeks an answer to who he truly is. He has questions that he would spend his whole life trying to find the answer to, if neccisary.
He also seems to have this strange ability to slow down time around him, for a little while, to almost freeze special moments and keep them in his mind forever.

He loves jokes and laughter, and will laugh at pretty much anything. His best friend, Teddy the Honeydew, is the same way, and they have been friends basically forever.

Personality: The best word to describe Z'rae is simply 'lost.' Somewhere, a long way back in her memories, Z'rae can remember her life. These memories only add to her pain.
Z'rae once had a family. She used to be a Common Tali. She went to Basantha Shrine, one day, to explore. Back then, she had always been so curious, so excited. It was during a thunderstorm. She was trapped at the shrine, and something happened that day that even she can't remember. When she awoke, she was Void. It was a long time after her old life, and any trace of her old life was gone.
Z'rae feels only darkness. Her emotions are trapped, somewhere, inside of her, and the only ones she can seem to let out are dark, like hurt and anger. She can almost remember brief glimpses of her old life, and these glimpses hurt all the more because she can't remember what it's like to feel. She spends time honing her new, darker skills and her telepathy.
And yet, however she may force herself to deny it, Z'rae longs to be brought back to the light.
