but... there doesn't appear to be anyone here.
You find yourself in a seemingily empty, small, but very clean stone room that smells of dried herbs and... paper? Not quite sure if that's 'interesting' or 'boring', you notice a tiny wooden table with an even smaller stool next to it, which is kind of cute but, why is this here? And, wait....
Is that....
Is that a phonebook?
It is, but --what, wait, why? A phonebook? Who even uses phonebooks? Aside from things like free pet bedding if you shred the pages and sitting on and... weights? You have trouble even thinking of what people would use phonebooks for (what with smartphones and all) after a moment because you mentally said the word too much. But, no, really, a phonebook as the center-piece of a room? How much more boring can you get?
Still..... it's so weird, and caught you that much off guard, that it's intriguing enough that you don't turn your back in .2 seconds. And in those .2 seconds (okay, maybe it was a little longer of standing there), suddenily the room isn't so empty anymore, because some sort of creature that looks like a drawing litterally crawls out of the pages.
What.
She looks at you, and suddenily seems kind of startled and freezes and flops over onto the ground-- woops. Hopefully you don't feel too bad, though, since she gets right back up and starts talking at you.
"Wha--wait--eum--who are--okay that probabily looked really bizzare I'm sorry--" or at least, she tries to. "I don't live here, I just visit--"
You make a kind of awkward 'settle down' gesture with your paw(hand?), and she seems to calm down.
"....I'm Nachni. I found this little place a bit ago, and needed somewhere to store my herbs for helping the people living here while I'm visiting, so touched it up a little." Oh, that explains why it smells like dry plants in here. And the wreath, too, you suppose. "But eum... stone is a little hard to morph into and travel inside of for a concept so it helps to have paper too?"
You kind of blink at her and say something you wish would have come out more cleverily, but you suppose it didn't come out too badily, because she smiles at you and seems to relax, although you hadn't been able to tell before that her stance before was 'tense' (it's especially hard since she's a concept).
"Because I travel around a bunch, I'm not often in the same place as many of the ones I know, but I do try and keep some sort of track on them, and what they're doing. It kind of seems like the 'ideal' for creatures is... living in some sort of big house all together, but that's never really been something I've done." She starts walking torwards something near one of the back walls, and you follow her a bit out of curiosity. Nachni doesn't seem to mind. "Not that any of us--or, well, almost any of us live in the same places, anyway. Some live in pairs or small groups, but that's just about it. I don't travel alone, though--well, it never even was my ideal to travel, I kind of wanted to stay in one place I used to live--but then I met a dearest friend of mine, and all he does is want to travel and meet people, so I kind of ended up making a lifestyle change to stick with someone important to me, I guess. And traveling with him is what helped me meet my apprentice, too!" She digs out a dried flower out of a compartment in the wall and-- offers it to you? Aw, that's cute.
"Anyway, so Sentiment and I managed to make a book that could look up the ones that we or Haiku or friends of Haiku or etc know--" she hadn't said who those two were yet (she probabily just forgot in the moment), but you assume that Sentiment is her apprentice and Haiku is that friend of hers, "--and it looks just like a phonebook, but it's more of an interactive index and is more interesting than a plain phonebook, I promise! I can show you, if you want," she says after a moment's pause, and you're not quite sure if it's because she doesn't think you believe her or if she just wants to share it, but, well you did come here while looking at other critters... really might as well.
She shows you the book and, while it doesn't really do too much 'interactiveness' for you since you can't travel through paper like she can, you can still sort of see what she was talking about. There really is quite a bit here... including numbers, of course.
Sometimes, you come across a bit that looks like it was crossed out with a black marker, and you kind of wonder why... if you squint at it enough, though, you can tell that it looks like old, out of date entries. It's a little weird that they're still here instead of just torn out, since they're on their own pages with nothing else, but maybe it was left there for.... nostalgia purposes or something?
Old intro posts, before there was a (very silly) story:

Aha, this thread has had WIP in the name for forever.
I'm returning for a bit and re-formatting this thread. :3 Figure it could look much better, be more organized, end up not having a huge massive scrollbar.... OTL
Thank you to everyone who in the past who gave any pets, and to Shieba for being awesome :3
I don't have any really elaborate 'setting' idea for this place [still] yet, so I'll leave that for another time.

Ze intro post; erm pen is just becoming existent so tis a very choppy work in progress; introduction/user information would go here as formulated/gained/the like-
*should not be typing when cold, that apparentily really hurts diction Dx*
The pets' posts are organized based on initial relativity to each other ie groups of characters all in one post, but that'll probabily reflect better later..
Also:Do not post here; if there're any issues send a pm je suppose
Hours later: The very(very) basics are here(the pets 'xD) and I'll be working on it(alot) over time.
