(I hate to stoop to 'Subeta character' level, but when I tried to draw Evan I failed miserably. His antlers are more like a fallow deer than shown here aaand he has heterochromia (so the left eye should be gray-blue). But that's about it. I'll get a real character image one day, I swear.)The ResearcherWhile many creatures in Evelon have an owner or a caretaker, Evan has never thought he'd be very good at that sort of thing- too much responsibility, and too much time spent with a menagerie of creatures that might just want to gnaw at his viscera. Certainly not very appealing, especially for someone as pacifistic as himself. So, Evan has become more of a biologist, keeping records and studying the various creatures he meets across Evelon. Though this has gotten him into some mildly perilous situations, he seems to have made it out of these quandaries mostly unscathed.
A 20 year old, Evan would appear normal and human if it weren't for the set of fallow deer antlers atop his head. Two cervine ears are shortly below them, and his final diminutive attribute is a small black-and-white tail. It's unclear whether this makes him seem more welcoming to the feral subjects of his study... or simply a bit more edible. His tousled cinnamon-brown hair is just long enough to be annoying, frequently needing to be pushed out of his face. At some point- in what was probably an uncharacteristic bout of bravery- he got one side of his nose pierced with a small silver stud. He has yet to decide whether this was a good idea. Evan's eyes, round and a bit 'sad' or 'droopy' looking, are a little odd themselves- the left is a dull grey-blue, while the other is hazel. There is a scattering of brown freckles clustered across his cheeks and nose.
Standing at 6'2- not counting the size of his antlers- Evan is not so much imposing as he is gangly and a bit awkward. This is perhaps another cervine attribute, though his occasional clumsiness and long limbs make him more of a newborn fawn than a stag. Socially he can be quite cordial, though there is often an air of apprehension in his speech and behavior. Sudden pressure or tension can even get a bit of a stutter out of him. If he's absorbed in something else, his focus on his task instead of communication may even be read as disdain rather than a force of habit.
