Nobody really knows that the zoo pen at the end of the lane isn't a zoo pen at all. Instead if it is a place where someone has painstakingly keep tabs and records and full surveillance of a couple of individuals. Some of these dubious-looking characters move in groups, but otherwise there doesn't seem to be a direct link between any of them.

Some of these characters show up as creatures, while others are human. If you look closer there might even be those who show up as both.

Below is the reports of their surveillance, detailing the life and behaviour of each of them. Or, at least, those that are already sorted out.

Biographical Personality
She is not the best at what she did, but she tries. Every Meji has to try, eventually. They are small creatures, no taller than a human's knee, and had nothing on them that could help in the way of food or survival. Only magic tricks, birds in their hat, magic wand, and an uncanny ability to make people smile.

Avery is a street performer, a magician. She plays tricks on the street, knocks door-to-door to entertain. She joins circuses, travels around the world, and at the end she manages to have enough money and food to live by, and to feed the hungry Shartile at her side. It's a difficult life, but it suits here for the time being.

She wasn't always homeless. Her people, a bunch of Meji with magical powers that are much more powerful than her cheap tricks, live in the colder parts of the globe. She can't remember much of her town; only ice and snow all year round. The thought to return home comes by her often, but it's always pushed away from her mind by the more pressing issues of where she's going to sleep that night, or what she'll have for dinner.

Biographical Personality
A wild Shartile, and as wild as can ever be. Korre is hungry, and has always been so. He doesn't remember the last time he has eaten a rabbit, and every time he looks at Avery, something surges inside him. A desire for flesh, bunny flesh, delicious, soft flesh of a magician bunny. He can't remember a time when he doesn't have the Meji at his side. They have always walked the streets together. Avery amuses the passerby, and he sits in the corner, trying not to drool at the thought of bunny flesh.

Maybe he used to be a member of some Shartile pack out at the wild, but he honestly doesn't remember any of that. He follows Avery wherever she goes, maybe out of hunger, maybe out of loyalty, or perhaps deep down he already considers her a part of his pack. Avery is nice to him. She feeds him and puts up with him. While still an animal and cannot speak human tongue, Korre is starting to learn about the civilized world. But who knows how long he can keep his animal instinct down?

Biographical Personality
Matahari, son of the sun. Or at least, he used to be. Somewhere a  long way east, he was even revered as a demigod. The bringer of light and the ray which reveal all there is on earth, he was born out of his people's belief and desire for knowledge. His feathers were more radiant then, and his soul shone with the illuminating rays of the sun. Or so his people believed.

But his people were few, and war raged in their land. Soon they stopped believing, they stopped following his teaching, and eventually they forgot of his existance. His powers weakened, and he's no longer the god that he used to be. But Matahari still roamed the world in his physical form, still on his endless pursue for knowledge. Somehow, he managed to find himself in the lands of Evelon, and acquaint himself with another scholar on a similar path and of similar past.

Biographical Personality
Hartmann can't remember anything from his past, except for one thing: he used to be human, a soldier, from a war a long time ago and a land far away. He still remembers the sound of gunfires, of bombs, of the cries of panicking soldiers. He remembers a dark ashen sky and the hell that might rain out of them, but not of why they're there, why he was there. These memories leaves him al the skills necessary to survive on his own in the wild, but is also a big unsolvable mystery.

Somehow in his travel, he stumbled upon a Tengumi who claims himself to be a god. While Hartmann can't quite accept that fact, they two becomes friends and eventually they walk together, trying to piece together whatever mystery they might find on their way.

Biographical Personality
On a previous life, Melville was a detective of sorts. He worked sporadically, only accepting clients whenever he feels like it, but the results were remarkable. He'd solved crimes. He found missing people, uncovered heinous plots, discovered more than his fair share of criminal acts. Most of his results, however, was not because of his own deductive skills but because he was very good at spying. He creeps soundlessly, blend almost anywhere with relative ease. His small size allows him to get into places no one else might have thought of. He also has a keen sense of the spirit world. Following the chattering of ghosts is often more effective than sticking with the living.

The spying in question, on the other hand, also includes listening in to every other detective's work. He steals information easier than any burglar, he usurps a lawgiver's reputation for breakfast. He made a number of enemies quickly, and not long afterwards it backfired on him. He lost his job, his home, his reputation. No one would take him in, and all of a sudden no one was willing to give him free boarding and meal.

So now he lives in the slums, hunting for scraps, living off what he can. If anything, the new lifestyle annoys him, but he was still alive. And at least lying low means he gets to hear more and more juices every day without being threatened by the people he had taken down.
