As soon as you enter the command section of the HQ, you are greeted by a raven-haired woman of about twenty-nine. She is dressed completely in Starfleet uniform, tricorder, communicator, phaser and all. She smiles slightly, and shakes your hand. "Hello, stranger. Welcome to Starfleet Headquarters, San Francisco, CA. I am Captain Soriana Brightwood of the U.S.S. Polaris, and your personal tour guide for the day. Now I understand you do not come to Earth on a business venture. Don't want to hang around for a debriefing in the main conference room, eh? No? In that case, please follow me." You nod, and turn to follow her into a series of intricate and complex corridors. Captain Brightwood sees your nervous expression as you take in your surroundings. "It's quite easy to get lost in here, you know. A few years back, it was rumored that the President of the United Federation of Planets himself became lost for a while, trying to get to one of the Interplanetary Relations Offices." After a while, you find yourself in front of a mysterious wooden door laced with strange, seemingly ancient writing. It didn't belong at all in a place like Starfleet Headquarters. Then you realize. Could it be...? Brightwood nodded. "Welcome, friend, to a secret section of HQ completely reserved for some of the famed Lands of Evelon's inhabitants. Enjoy."

Backstory: Serenity is a beautiful female hydrokuhna with a sweet personality, easy disposition, and a great smile. When it comes to relationships, however, Serenity's pretty new to that deal. But she is eager to have kits and become a mother kuhna, especially after hearing so many wonderful stories from her friends. She'll make an excellent mom. Backstory: Known as the stuttering, reluctant hero of the EoE, Picasso is naturally shy and extremely clumsy. As a kit, he was often teased by other kuhnas about his thick British accent. (It's definitely a lot better in current times.) Picasso has been Sori's best friend since before the team was founded, and as a result she made him primarily responsible for the team. Picasso's greatest adventure to date is by far his trek deep into the Tengel Rainforest. There he met Kossori, a beautiful, energetic kamo kuhna whom he fell in love with. Sadly, their union was not destined to occur, as Kossori did not return his feelings. Later, when Sori founded the EoE, Picasso made several new friends, including a calm, sweet hydrokuhna named Serenity, and a creative, soft-spoken arkuhna called Rainbow. Recently, he spent some time in a breeding room with Rainbow, where he revealed his true feelings for her. And this time, he was not rejected. However, Picasso is still game for stepping into the breeding rooms a few more times, provided he receives moral support from his friends.

Backstory: Determined, short-tempered, merciless, and devilishly handsome, Commander Terrh has the ideal image for an evil galactic superspy. An agent for the Romulans, his primary interest is his job, and he'll go to extreme lengths to get it done. Otherwise he wouldn't get his reward, now would he? Besides the fact that the Romulan Star Empire would have his head and his tails if he didn't. Infiltrating Starfleet is risky business, even for a commander of Terrh's level. Along to help him in his reign of eternal villainy is his sister, the sly, clever, and irresistably beautiful Subcommander Llaiir. She serves as his first officer, counselor, and advisor. But Llaiir is the only female officer on the Aehallh that is of consequence to Terrh. He never had any interest in females, nor did he have a way with them. The commander is too harsh and cruel to ever be understanding or kind, or even witty. It's beyond his capabilities.

One thing is certain, however. There is virtually no goodness in Terrh's heart, and his soul is as black as his name suggests.

Backstory: Terrh isn't the only Romulan on the Aehallh with a hidden agenda. While Llaiir is her brother's most trusted suboordinate, her true wish is something more than serving on a reconnaissance/combat vessel her entire life. The subcommander's desire has been buried in her heart ever since she was a little girl, when her parents revealed that neither she nor her brother were full Rihannsu. They didn't relate much, just that both siblings were in fact adopted. They claimed their real parents had perished in a cargo freighter wreck. And Llaiir knew that since they weren't completely Rihannsu, they would have a better chance of escaping from ch'Rihan, their homeworld. You see, she and her brother were dreamers, visionaries, believers. Terrh and Llaiir had always wanted to travel the stars. It was Llaiir who suggested that, at the appropriate time, they defect from the Empire. They were both eager to grow up, and eventually they did. But when both hybrids were selected to receive active field commissions serving on a warbird, Terrh strayed away from the plan that he and his sister had concocted so long ago. He became a loyal officer of the Romulan Star Empire, closely observed by the Praetorial Council. Especially after the former commander of the warbird was executed on the charge of mudering a member of the senate, when Terrh assumed captaincy of the Aehallh and was promoted to the rank of commander. Llaiir pretended to follow in her brother's footsteps, but secretly she still plots to defect. She's simply waiting for the opportune moment. It also helps that she's gifted with intelligence and cleverness.

Llaiir is somewhat shy when she's in an unfamiliar place, like an alien planet or an enemy vessel, but she keeps her fears to herself. She knows better than to appear weak in front of her brother. However, when serving aboard the Aehallh as communications officer, she's quite content to bark out orders to her suboordinates, with a nod from Terrh for confirmation. She even orders Commander Terrh's personal guards to bring her imported Klingon coffee from time to time. Whatever situation she's in, Subcommander Llaiir always manages to keep her cool. (Well, cool for a Romulan, at least.)

Backstory: Medea has always been fascinated with magic: Sorcery, enchantments, spells, potions, the like. Ever since she was a kit, bouncing from foster home to foster home, orphanage to orphanage, she knew she wanted to become a sorceress. She read book after book about wizardry, alchemy, potionry, etc. And ironically enough, Dea has always possessed some unusual abilities. Levitating things with her mind, premonitions, precognitive dreams, advanced telepathy, and so on. She is bright, young, curious, and eager to learn everything she can about magic, to broaden her horizons to the fullest. So far she has several spellbooks memorized, and can quote from them immediately when asked. Medea is always ready to lend a hand when her friends need her and offers thoughtful insights into the timeless art of sorcery.

Backstory: Musical, a bit strange, hippie-esque, intelligent. There are all kinds of reasons aliens in stories come to Earth. To conquer. To study us. Because they've crashed. This particular alien set off for Earth because he fell in love with our music. His species can recognize great music, but cannot truly create it--much as humans admire the haunting melodies of whalesong, but can't really replicate it themselves. So he came to enjoy our song, and record as much music as possible for the people of his homeland. He chose the form of a male Borealis Kuhna for purely aesthetic reasons--he liked the color scheme! And the fluff. Fluffy is a plus. He's pretty good at blending in as Kuhna, though due to his tendency to wax poetic about music (and occasionally Earth's natural beauty)--not to mention his habit of calling himself by the girlish "Isabelle" or the not-a-name-at-all "Teleprompter," people tend to dismiss him as some kind of hippie-esque New Age kook. He just likes pretty things, is all--from pretty songs to pretty creatures to pretty trees. He doesn't understand everything about Evelonian culture, but he tries. One notable thing about him is that he refuses to consume dairy products--after learning what they were, he became horrified of them--and he's slightly skittish about grains which contain yeast. But unless he tells you his secret, you'd probably just write him off as an eccentric artist.

Backstory ~ Solaris's first impressions come across as snooty, spoiled, dainty, the like. She's rather rude and hardly ever has a positive comment about anything or anyone, so you could assume first impressions tell the truth. Sol's worst habit is her "valley girl" pattern of speech. (Like, so um, etc. are words she uses regularly and frequently.) However, if you get to know her, it's a different story. Solaris'll open up to you about a lot of things, and she can make a great conversation even better. Deep down, Solaris is a good person, has a great personality, and her heart shines as brightly as the dancing suns upon her pelt. Of course, relationships and close bonds don't just happen overnight.

Backstory ~ Spock was born in 2230 in the city of Shi'Kahr on the planet Vulcan. His mother was Amanda Grayson, a human schoolteacher, and his father, Sarek, was a Vulcan scientist and diplomat. For a time, Spock grew up alongside his half-brother, Sybok (the son of Sarek from a previous mate), until Sybok's ostracism for rejecting Vulcan principles of logic.

Spock's mixed parentage caused difficulties throughout his early life. His own father, who married a human woman, was somewhat ambivalent about his child's human nature at his birth. For her part, Amanda watched Spock's stiff-lipped anguish caused by torment at the hands of other Vulcan children, knowing that his "human half" was suffering.

In 2239, at the age of 7, Spock decided (prematurely, and without parental knowledge or approval) to undertake the kahs-wan maturity trial in the Vulcan wilderness in an attempt to prove himself. His pet sehlat, I-Chaya, tagged along against his master's wishes and defended him from the attack of a carnivorous, venomous le-matya. The intervention of an older cousin saved Spock from the le-matya, but I-Chaya was left badly wounded. Faced with the stark choice of a painfully extended life or a peaceful release for I-Chaya, Spock logically opted for the latter. That decision marked his choice of following in the philosophies of Surak: logic and emotional control. (Many years later, in 2269, the accidental creation of an alternate timeline created a universe where Spock was killed in his childhood. Using the Guardian of Forever, Spock returned to the Vulcan of his youth and assumed the role of the nearly forgotten-cousin that saved his life during the kahs-wan ordeal.)

Sarek gave Spock his first lessons in computers, setting him on the path of a scientific career. Against his father's wish that he complete his instruction at the Vulcan Science Academy in the family tradition, Spock expressed his desire to join Starfleet. The argument came to a head in 2249 with Spock's final decision, causing a rift that kept them from speaking to each other for eighteen years.

Spock was commissioned as a Starfleet officer in the early 2250s with the serial number S 179-276 SP, and held an A7 computer expert classification. By 2254, he was assigned to the USS Enterprise.

As a science officer under the command of Captain Christopher Pike, Spock was wounded in the leg when Pike's landing party was attacked on the surface of Rigel VII in 2254. As the ship proceeded to the Vega colony for medical care, a radio wave distress call forced Pike to divert the ship to Talos IV. Still limping, Spock joined a landing party that transported to the barren surface of the planet, where Pike was captured by Talosians. He was the first of the ship's crew to realize that the Talosians had powerful illusory abilities. Spock's final report, along with Pike's, recommended a ban on visitation to the planet. The judgment was endorsed by Starfleet's General Order 7.

Spock's service under Pike (eleven years, four months, and five days) inspired considerable respect and loyalty from the young officer. In 2267, Spock risked his life and career for the sake of his former captain.

After Pike's promotion to fleet captain, James T. Kirk assumed command of the Enterprise in 2265. An early mission, attempting an extra-galactic probe, was disastrous. Lieutenant Commander Gary Mitchell, a close friend of the new captain, developed enhanced psionic abilities when the Enterprise encountered an energy barrier at the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy.

Spock examined the tapes of an earlier ship, the SS Valiant, that had encountered the same barrier and had been destroyed. As Mitchell's powers increased geometrically, Spock believed he had become extremely dangerous and feared that he would destroy the ship. He advised Kirk to kill Mitchell before it was too late, but Kirk hesitated, attempting instead to strand Mitchell on the desolate surface of Delta Vega. Spock's predictions proved accurate, and Kirk was forced to kill Mitchell. Following Mitchell's death, Kirk acknowledged Spock as his first officer.

The Enterprise repelled the first Romulan incursion of Federation space in over a century on stardate 1709.2. Spock and the bridge crew became the first Starfleet officers to make visual contact with Romulans, who finally revealed their Vulcan-like appearance to Starfleet. Navigator Lieutenant Stiles briefly suspected Spock of being a Romulan agent until Spock saved his life in the course of battle.

In early 2267, Spock kidnapped Fleet Captain Christopher Pike, his former commander, and hijacked the Enterprise. Pike had been crippled when a baffle plate ruptured during an inspection of an old Class J starship and was confined to a wheelchair, unable to speak. Spock wanted to return him to Talos IV, where they had visited years earlier; he wished to return Pike to the Talosians there so he could enjoy the rest of his life in an illusory reality and would not have to continue enduring his disability. After a lengthy inquiry into the matter, with images provided by the Talosians, Kirk allowed Pike to beam down and all charges against Spock were dropped by Commodore Jose I. Mendez.

While commanding an away mission aboard the Galileo on stardate 2821.5, the shuttlecraft crashed on the surface of Taurus II, a planet inhabited by giant hostile creatures. Two crewmembers were killed while the shuttle was stranded but, with the aid of Lieutenant Commander Montgomery Scott, Spock was eventually able to launch the shuttle. Knowing that it could not break free of the orbit of the planet, he ignited the shuttlecraft's remaining fuel which acted as a flare; the Enterprise was alerted by this and rescued the team.

After being thrown back in time to Earth of 1969 and interacting with that planet's US Air Force, Spock was able to recreate a time warp with a slingshot maneuver around the sun. Later, when Kirk was court-martialed for causing the death of a crewman, Spock proved that the Enterprise's computer tapes had been altered to frame Kirk by the very man he was accused of killing, Lieutenant Commander Ben Finney.

Spock, along with Kirk, helped disable a computer that controlled the lives of a civilization on Beta III and allowed no free thought or creative thinking.

Spock helped Kirk to retake the Enterprise after Khan Noonien Singh, a 20th century Augment dictator whom the Enterprise's crew had found in stasis, commandeered the starship. Spock flooded the ship with gas, disabling Khan and his followers.

On stardate 3192.1, Spock and Kirk were taken prisoners on Eminiar VII, which had been at war for over five hundred years with the planet Vendikar. The war was, at this time, being fought by computers so that the two worlds were not destroyed by the atrocities of warfare, thus preserving their civilizations. Whenever a hit was scored by the computer, the affected citizens would be sent into a disintegration chamber and vaporized. When the Enterprise entered orbit around Eminiar VII, it became a legitimate target for Vendikar. The Enterprise was deemed destroyed by a tricobalt satellite explosion; as a result, the crew was expected to report to the disintegration stations. Kirk and Spock were held prisoner to ensure compliance, but they eventually escaped and destroyed the computers on Eminiar VII. With the threat of a real war looming over the inhabitants of both planets, Spock and Kirk sought to negotiate a peace between Eminiar VII and Vendikar.

Meanwhile, an unknown creature was killing miners on the surface of Janus VI. After locating the creature, Spock mind-melded with it. He discovered that the creature was called a Horta and determined it had only been attempting to protect its young by killing the miners, who were unintentionally killing the Horta's offspring by destroying silicon nodules which were really the creature's eggs. Spock negotiated a pact between the Horta and the miners: the miners would leave the eggs alone and the Horta, in turn, would help the miners locate valuable minerals.

Spock and Kirk later became trapped on Organia, a planet of medieval culture. Organia was being threatened by the Klingon Empire, who wanted to use it as a base in attacking the Federation. The Organian council refused the Federation's help, and after the Klingons invaded and took control of Organia, Kirk and Spock had civilian identities imposed on them, with Spock being given the identity of a merchant. They then became involved in sabotage. After they were captured by the Klingons, Spock and Kirk were freed by the Organians. Just as war was about to break out, the Organians revealed themselves to be powerful energy beings, once humanoid but now evolved. They neutralized the weapons of both sides and stopped the war.

On stardate 3134.0, Spock and Kirk traveled back in time using the Guardian of Forever to retrieve Dr. Leonard McCoy, who had somehow changed history by entering the time portal. Spock discovered that history was changed because McCoy had saved the life of Edith Keeler, a social worker who, in the altered timeline, was destined to lead a pacifist movement that delayed the United States' entry into World War II, thus allowing Adolf Hitler to win the war. The only way to restore the timeline was to let Keeler die in an auto accident from which she had been saved by intervention from McCoy. Spock persuaded Kirk to stop McCoy from saving Keeler, whose death restored the timeline.

Near the end of the year, Spock was attacked by a neural parasite that had destroyed a colony on the planet Deneva. He submitted to an experiment that destroyed the creature inside him but also left him blind. However, the blindness was only temporary as it was revealed that Vulcans have two sets of eyelids.

In late 2267, the Enterprise encountered a probe called Nomad that had destroyed multiple star systems and their inhabitants. Spock mind-melded with the probe and discovered that it was an old Earth probe that had been tasked with seeking out new life. It had somehow been damaged in space and had merged with an alien probe whose mission had been to sterilize soil. Nomad was now under the false impression that its mission was to sterilize anything that was not "perfect." Kirk was able to destroy the probe by using its own logic against it.

On stardate 3219.8, a shuttlecraft carrying Spock, Kirk, and Federation diplomat Nancy Hedford was captured by an alien cloud creature and taken to a deserted planet. On the planet's surface, they found Zefram Cochrane, the inventor of the warp drive, who was believed to have died decades ago. The cloud creature, called the "Companion" by Cochrane, had discovered him and managed to keep him alive and young. The creature had brought the three Starfleet officers to be companions for Cochrane. When Spock tried to repair the shuttlecraft, the Companion stopped him. The situation was resolved when Hedford, dying from an incurable disease, was joined with the Companion, which cured her and remained in her body. Hedford remained on the planet as a companion for Cochrane, whom she fell in love with.

In 2268, Spock and other members of the Enterprise's crew encountered Harry Mudd, who was stranded on a planet inhabited by androids that wanted the Enterprise to escape the planet and serve humans so that they would not have to explore space. Kirk, Spock, and the crew eventually managed to overload the androids' central control, causing the chief android, Norman, to have a nervous breakdown.

While traveling to a peace conference on Babel, Spock was reunited with his parents. There was still much friction between Spock and his father, Sarek. When Sarek was accused of the murder of another delegate, it was revealed that he was ill with a cardiac defect, which made it unlikely that he could have committed the crime. McCoy was then tasked with performing surgery on Sarek for this defect. It was then discovered that Orions were responsible for the murder, and Spock made himself available for a blood transfusion for his father's surgery because they shared the same rare blood type, T-negative. Recovering in sickbay, Sarek and Spock made peace with each other, even playfully teasing Spock's mother, Amanda.

On stardate 4523.3, Spock helped foil a Klingon plot to poison quadrotriticale earmarked for a Federation planet, while at the same time trying to clear the Enterprise of a fast-breeding alien species called tribbles.

Spock later visited Sigma Iotia II, whose inhabitants had modeled their society on the gangster era of Earth's 1930s. An earlier starship had left behind a book about gangsters from Earth's 20th century that the imitative Iotians had used as a blueprint for their society. Spock played the part of one of the bosses of the main syndicate, "The Federation", and helped Kirk unite the two warring bosses into a form of government.

Spock sensing the terrible deaths of an entire Vulcan crew in 2268. Spock, along with the Enterprise, encountered a space amoeba that destroyed entire star systems. The USS Intrepid, sent to investigate the phenomenon, was destroyed, and Spock felt the Vulcans on the ship dying. In order to gain information on the creature, Spock piloted a shuttle into the amoeba and found that it was about to reproduce by fission. The creature was subsequently destroyed by an antimatter bomb.

Spock's body was later taken over by Henoch, who was one of three survivors of an ancient civilization that had destroyed itself. The three had become energy beings to survive and wished to build androids in order to house their minds. Henoch, who was the rival of fellow survivor Sargon, refused to relinquish Spock's body and attempted to kill Sargon. He himself was killed with the help of Spock's consciousness and Thalassa, wife of Sargon.


Spock came in contact with various other worlds in the early part of 2268. He was captured by Ekosians who had based their society on that of Nazi Germany and tortured him to obtain information about the Enterprise. John Gill, a Federation historian, had visited Ekos and had attempted to use the efficiency of Nazi Germany to bring stability to the planet.

Spock battled aliens who tried to take over the Enterprise in order to return home, and helped Kirk stop a Federation captain, Ronald Tracey, from interfering in a planet's societies by arming one against the other. He also battled the government of a planet where a Rome-like civilization had never fallen and gladiatorial games still took place in the planet's modern era.

Later the same year, Spock's brain was stolen by an alien race to help power a computer that controlled its society and provided for all its needs. McCoy was able to reconnect Spock's brain to his body with the same technology used to remove it.

Spock, along with Kirk, later stole a cloaking device from the Romulans. As part of the plan to retrieve the device, he pretended to kill Kirk and romanced the craft's commander in order to gain her trust. After Kirk returned to the craft disguised as a Romulan and stole the device, Spock stalled the Romulans long enough for the device to be installed in the Enterprise. The ship escaped with the cloaking device and the Romulan commander on board.

Spock later saved Kirk and a tribe of transplanted Native Americans by helping save their planet from an asteroid by activating a deflector beam on the planet. He allowed his body to be taken over by an alien, known as a Medusan, so that the alien could guide the Enterprise back into the galaxy after a mad crewman had driven it out into an unchartered region. The Medusans were a highly intelligent species, but their bodies were grotesque in form – so much so that gazing upon a Medusan would cause insanity in humanoids. However, it is said that, when telepathically viewing a Medusan's mind, as Spock did, it is found to be quite beautiful.

Spock helped save an away team from the Melkotians who had, as punishment for trespassing, forced them to relive the infamous gunfight at the OK Corral. He also helped redirect an artificial asteroid, Yonada, from colliding with a Federation planet.

Spock took command of the Enterprise when Kirk was caught in a spatial interphase. The ship was attacked by Tholians, but Spock was able to retrieve Kirk and escape from a restrictive energy web created by the Tholians.

Spock and Kirk were later captured by a race of telepaths who forced them to take part in dangerous games and unwanted love affairs.

After hyper-accelerated aliens took over the Enterprise, they hyper-accelerated Kirk to take as a hostage. Spock managed to receive a warning from Kirk and became hyper-accelerated himself, but carried an antidote with him. He and Kirk stopped the aliens and retook the ship.

Spock was part of an away team that was used by aliens to test the worthiness of an empathic race. Their planet was going to be destroyed, and the aliens who could save them wanted to see if they should be saved from their dying sun. After the aliens tortured Kirk, Spock, and McCoy, the empath, Gem, healed them. The aliens saved her planet.

In early 2269, Spock and Kirk took a new medicine that could cure mental illness to a Federation mental facility. However, the facility had been taken over by the inmates under the leadership of Garth of Izar, a former Starfleet captain. He captured Spock and Kirk, whose lives were put in danger. Spock escaped and found Kirk but Garth, who had developed shapeshifting powers, had assumed Kirk's identity. Spock was able to determine the real Kirk from the impostor and subdued Garth, giving him medication that helped his mental illness.

In the same year, Spock was part of a landing party that found a Human named Flint. He found masterpiece paintings and original classical music. Flint admitted that he had been Brahms and Leonardo da Vinci on Earth, and that he was an immortal being.


Spock helped Kirk negotiate a peace treaty between two societies on the planet Ardana. He also became attracted to Droxine, the daughter of Plasus, the ruler of Ardana; he referred to her as a work of art and even discussed pon farr with her. However, nothing ever came out of the relationship.

Spock and Kirk were forced into a battle between good and evil set up by the Excalbians to study Human concepts. The aliens created images of people who possessed "good" qualities, such as Abraham Lincoln and Surak, against "bad" people such as Colonel Green and Kahless.

Spock, Kirk, and McCoy entered a time portal, and were stuck in different past eras of the planet Sarpeidon, which was about to be destroyed by an exploding sun. Spock and McCoy traveled into the planet's ice age, where they met Zarabeth, who had been sent there as punishment. Even though McCoy was dying from the cold, Spock wished to remain with the woman who he had fallen in love with, since, in this time period, he had emotions. Eventually, he discovered the portal door and saved McCoy, leaving Zarabeth behind.

After Janice Lester secretly transferred her consciousness into Kirk's body and his consciousness into her body, she attempted to kill Kirk and assume his captaincy. However, Spock managed to expose her and helped to re-transfer Kirk's consciousness into his body.

Later the same year, the Federation, aware of Spock's familiarity with mind-links, offered him an assignment to work with Medusan ambassador Kollos. Spock, however, turned down the assignment with the ambassador due to his life on the Enterprise.

After defeating and outsmarting the Romulans once again on the Federation/Romulan border, Spock began a long and grueling journey that would take him to the edge of reality... and beyond. He, along with Kirk, McCoy and the rest of the starship Enterprise, was hurtled into a spatial rift that transported him to a strange, fantasical, magical new dimension called "Evelon." The entire ship was and still is stranded there, trying desperately to return home.

Backstory ~ Leonard McCoy was born in the "Old South" region of North America on Earth, in 2227, according to Starfleet records. He was the son of David McCoy.

McCoy was attending the University of Mississippi during the mid-2240s when he met the joined Trill Emony Dax, who was visiting Earth to judge a gymnastics competition. Dax thought McCoy "had the hands of a surgeon" and had a feeling he would become a doctor. While there is no direct evidence, the way Jadzia Dax spoke of their encounter to Benjamin Sisko hinted that they might have had some sort of relationship.

He began studying medicine in or before 2245. While in medical school, McCoy and his friends used to play practical jokes on each other all the time. For example, they would substitute real drinking glasses with trick drinking glasses, causing the target drinker to spill on their shirt.

McCoy's graduation date from medical school is never confirmed in a Star Trek production, but with four years of pre-med followed by four years of medical school, McCoy would normally have received his medical degree in 2253, assuming he started college at the age of eighteen in 2245. Kirk's statement in 2270 that McCoy had spent "25 years in medicine" seems to support this.

In 2251, McCoy led a massive inoculation program on planet Dramia II, where he saved a Dramian colonist, named Kol-Tai, from a strain of the Saurian virus. Shortly after McCoy departed, Dramia II was struck by a plague which killed nearly all of the colonists.

By 2253, McCoy had developed a surgical procedure for the humanoid brain; grafting neural tissue to the cerebral cortex, followed by the creation of an axonal pathway between the tissue graft and the basal ganglia.

After promotion to lieutenant commander, McCoy was stationed at Capella IV where Capellan lack of interest in medical aid or hospitals ensured a short visit, lasting only a few months, before eventually joining the USS Enterprise's five-year mission in 2266. The knowledge of Capellan customs he acquired on this mission would prove valuable.

Joining the crew of the USS Enterprise, already underway in 2266, McCoy replaced Dr. Mark Piper as the starship's chief medical officer and ship's surgeon. His assigned quarters were "3F 127" on Deck 9, section 2. Kirk liberally used the nickname "Bones" for his doctor from this point on. Bones is short for "sawbones," also used by Kirk in "A Piece of the Action," an ancient description for a surgeon.

On stardate 1513.1, while conducting a routine medical examination of outpost personnel at the archaeological dig on planet M-113, McCoy became reacquainted with an old flame, Nancy Crater. Unbeknownst to McCoy, Nancy had been murdered and replaced years before by what became known as the "M-113 creature." The last survivor of M-113's long-dead civilization was a telepathic shapeshifter who digested the salt content from its prey. Drawing from a potential food source's mental imagery, it appeared as sympathetic or attractive, and further hypnotized its victim before feeding; hence McCoy saw a vision of Nancy exactly as he had known her years earlier. When the creature began taking the lives of Enterprise crew members on the surface and aboard the ship itself, McCoy's judgment was tainted by his past feelings for Nancy. It was only when Spock was assaulted and Captain Kirk's life was in jeopardy that Dr. McCoy was able to see past the illusion of Nancy, forcing him to fire a phaser on a sentient being, the last of its kind.

In early 2267 the Enterprise visited the Shore Leave Planet located in the Omicron Delta region. During the initial survey, McCoy reported seeing a giant white rabbit followed by a little girl. Further investigation revealed that the thoughts in their minds were being recorded and brought to life by a vast underground factory. While walking through the glade with Yeoman Tonia Barrows, they discovered the dress of a princess, conceived from the thoughts of Barrows. McCoy encouraged Barrows to try on the dress, and afterward begin to romance the yeoman, later stating that she should not be afraid "with a brave knight to protect her". Moments later a Black Knight appeared on horseback, bearing a lance. Convinced it was illusion and could not harm him, McCoy stood his ground against a charge – impaled in the chest, he died instantly. McCoy was brought underground, healed, and returned to the surface with two cabaret chorus girls he once met on Rigel II. Barrow's obvious jealousy prompted McCoy to extricate himself from his fantasy girls, taking the Yeoman's arm instead.

On stardate 3417, McCoy's tonsils, which had been removed some years earlier, re-grew when he was briefly under the influence of the Omicron spores. Although he took part in the subsequent mutiny, he returned with the rest of the crew after the spore's influence was eradicated.

During an investigation of temporal disturbances over an ancient planet, McCoy accidentally injected himself with an overdose of cordrazine, resulting in psychosis and paranoid delusions and he escaped to the planet's surface. Kirk, Spock, and a landing party followed him into the ruins of an ancient civilization, where they discovered the Guardian of Forever, an ancient time portal device. Still psychotic, McCoy entered the device, transporting himself into Earth's past, creating a history without a Federation or Enterprise. Kirk and Spock followed him back to 1930 New York, where they meet social worker Edith Keeler. After determining her death, averted by a recovered McCoy, is the focal point of the altered timeline, Kirk was forced to hold his friend back, allowing Keeler to die.

After the first discovery of a silicon-based lifeform on Janus VI, the Horta matriarch, McCoy is the first xenophysician to actually treat one of the creatures, healing the wounded mother with a bandage of thermal concrete. "By golly, Jim, I'm beginning to think I can cure a rainy day!"

He was also the first to describe the deadly habits and help find the cure for the flying neural parasites, a plague of one-celled flying creatures linked in a collective mind that had been sweeping across whole solar systems and destroying all humanoid life.

On a return to Capella IV, McCoy helped lead Kirk through tentative negotiations over dilithium mining rights with the Capellan Teer, talks which fell apart from Klingon interference. After the death of the Teer, the Enterprise landing party fled with the Teer's pregnant wife, Eleen. McCoy's truculent patient required an atypical bedside manner (i.e. "a right cross"), but he delivered the newborn High Teer, the rightful leader of the Capellan tribes. Eleen, having grown fond of McCoy, named the child Leonard James Akaar, much to Spock's annoyance, who commented that the name would cause Kirk and McCoy to become insufferably pleased with themselves for at least a month.

Although possessing limited surgical experience in Vulcan anatomy and physiology, McCoy successfully operated on Ambassador Sarek of Vulcan, Spock's father, when Sarek suffered from a faulty heart valve and subsequently near-fatal heart attacks. With blood donations from Spock, McCoy performed open heart surgery on Sarek while the Enterprise shuddered under the attack of hostile Orions. Despite the distractions of his captain being knifed in the back, phaser attacks on the ship, and his blood donor attempting to get up and report to duty during the procedure, McCoy successfully completed the operation and Sarek fully recovered.

While mapping near the Sigma Draconis star system, the USS Enterprise encountered an Eymorg starship, whose occupant, Kara rendered the crew unconscious. Upon waking, they discovered that Spock's brain had been stolen. It fell on McCoy to find a way to keep Spock's body alive; McCoy not only managed this, but also fitted him with a control system to move Spock's body remotely. When Spock's brain was located on Sigma Draconis VI, wired to the planet's environmental control system to care for its inhabitants, it fell on McCoy to use an advanced Great Teacher machine to learn how to replace the brain back within his body. The effects of the teaching machine quickly wore off, but not before McCoy had reconnected Spock's autonomic and speech centers, enough for the Vulcan to verbally assist the doctor with the rest of the procedure and reconnect the rest of his voluntary functions.

In 2267, the USS Enterprise found the USS Defiant floating in and out of interphase space, its crew having apparently killed each other from space madness. When the Enterprise crew soon exhibited the same symptoms, McCoy discovered that prolonged exposure to the effects of interphase were causing the episodes. The symptoms were alleviated after McCoy created and administered a radical derivative of theragen (a Klingon nerve gas) mixed with drinking alcohol.

In 2268, McCoy was diagnosed with a terminal disease known as xenopolycythemia; he was given one year to live. Shortly thereafter, the Enterprise encountered the Fabrini asteroid-ship Yonada where he met their high priestess, Natira. McCoy joined Natira and the Fabrini by having an instrument of obedience subdermally implanted into his body. He would later change his mind about staying with the Fabrini, choosing rather to search the galaxy to discover a cure for his disease. Kirk and Spock discovered that the Fabrini, in fact, had the cure for xenopolycythemia in their databanks, curing McCoy and allowing him to continue his life aboard the Enterprise.

In 2269, McCoy was promoted; from that point on, he wore the insignia of a commander on his uniform.

Around stardate 5371.3, Captain Kirk consulted McCoy to get his expert psychological opinion on whether the inhabitants of the planet Mantilles should be warned of the impending danger of an unidentified cosmic cloud that was approaching, and preparing to consume the planet. McCoy figured that with only four hours and ten minutes until the cloud reached the planet, he was certain that there would be planet-wide panic, which Kirk clarified as "blind panic." Spock, however, recommended otherwise, and noted that if they told the inhabitants of the situation, they may be able to save a small fraction of the population. McCoy then agreed with Spock, after learning that Bob Wesley was governor of the planet, and urged Kirk to contact the governor.

Later that year, McCoy was among the landing party that beamed down to inspect the planet Taurus II. He was among those affected by the glandular secretion of the Taurean females, known for controlling the male mind. This caused McCoy to be drained of his "life force", making him age at a rate of ten years per day. Unable to counteract the effects of rapid aging, McCoy employed a hypospray of cortropine on himself and the landing party to help alleviate their conditions. He and the landing party were eventually recovered by an all female Enterprise security detachment lead by Uhura and returned to their previous ages by use of their molecular pattern stored in the transporter system.

Following a delivery of medical supplies to Dramia, McCoy was arrested for the wanton mass murder of the colonists of Dramia II from some nineteen years earlier. McCoy feared that he might have accidentally been responsible for the plague that killed the Dramians and that he might be found guilty. Meanwhile, the Enterprise visited Dramia II and discovered a survivor, named Kol-Tai, who wished to help acquit McCoy of the charges. On the journey back to Dramia they passed through an aurora, which was later discovered to be the source of the plague. Spock helped McCoy break out of the Dramian prison in order for the doctor to help find the cure for the plague that was now unleashed aboard the Enterprise. McCoy discovered the cure in Saurian virus antibodies and was able to save the crew. McCoy was later honored by the Dramians in a series of ceremonies, for his significant achievements in the field of interstellar medicine.

On stardate 5499.9, while exploring the ocean planet Argo to study the regular seismic disturbances there, Kirk and Spock were separated from the rest of the landing party during an attack from an aquatic predator. They were found later, but adapted for water-breathing, even possessing gills and webbed hands. Dr. McCoy was able to stabilize their condition aboard the Enterprise, but could not find a reversal for their condition. He endorsed their going back to Argo to investigate the mystery. Kirk and Spock were able to locate the underwater city of the Aquans, and discovered a medical treatment within the city’s records which could reverse their condition (utilizing the venom of another dangerous predator, the sur-snake). After obtaining a sample of venom, McCoy was able to synthesize a vaccine. The vaccine was nearly fatal for Kirk, but the treatment was successful, and Kirk and Spock were fully cured of their condition.

On stardate 5591.2, McCoy returned with the others to the Shore Leave Planet for shore leave once again. They soon discovered, however, that the Caretaker had died and the planet’s central computer was rebelling against its programming, assaulting the landing party with dangerous manifestations. McCoy was able to trick the planet into taking Spock beneath the surface by injecting him with melanex, an anesthetic which induced unconsciousness and odd skin discoloration in the Vulcan. McCoy and Sulu were later in danger of being incinerated by another of the planet’s manifestations, a fire-breathing dragon, but were rescued when Uhura and the others were able to "talk down" the planet’s computer.

McCoy frequently displayed a very love/hate attitude towards technology. Although he was a great believer in the body's own natural ability to heal and felt that a little suffering was good for the soul, he also held 23rd century medicine in high esteem and frequently lamented how barbarous medicine used to be in the past. He also distrusted other highly technological devices, especially the transporter.

While technically only lieutenant commander in rank, McCoy was still the only person on the Enterprise who could talk back to the Captain and get away with it. Although not without apology when wrong, he displayed a unique individuality and plain-spoken character which certainly clashed with the service, considering himself a doctor first and an officer second. This pugnacious attitude surfaced on a number of missions. Despite his sardonic wit, and curmudgeonly personality, McCoy is very compassionate, and cares deeply about all living things.

While on Miri's planet, McCoy discovered a vaccine for the deadly life prolongation complex virus which had killed all the adults on the planet and left the children with impossibly long life spans. Although completely unsure of the dose, McCoy "shot from the hip," as it were, injecting himself with the vaccine and successfully providing the landing party with a cure.

Backstory: He looks pretty freaky, right? Rather imposing and slightly foreboding, wouldn't you say? Any red flags going up in your mind? No? Hooo boy. Don't tell me I've tricked you into distrusting your initial reaction of him just by throwing a few fancy adjectives at you. First impressions are very often true... and in this case, that statistic is pretty darn accurate. Don't be fooled by his way with words or his charm and allure; his heart is as black as his scales themselves, and his thirst for blood is as fresh as the wounds which cover his body. You see, Drystan is under the influence of a curse. A long time ago, Drystan was a young man in love with a beautiful girl called Jezebelle. Unfortunately, Jezebelle's grandmother, the woman who raised the girl after her parents' mysterious deaths, was a rather powerful and extremely lovely sorceress who never seemed to age. She achieved this by harnessing the spiritual essence of her granddaughter (who was a talented sorceress herself, but didn't know it at the time), and channeling it into a viable power source. This power source could be used to reverse aging, cure disease, provide energy to keep appliances running... but it was also a weapon. A weapon that, if used improperly, was capable of great destruction. Jezebelle's grandmother was charged by her elders with the task of protecting the girl from the day she was born, in order to ensure the continuation of this great power, a power that stemmed from the once-great ruling dynasty of Jezebelle's realm (a dynasty of which she was the last surviving relative, since her grandmother isn't really her grandmother), and to keep it from falling into the wrong hands. Over the years, however, the sorceress grew very selfish and decided that if she was to protect the power, then part of her compensation should be the power itself. She realized only too late that kind-hearted, brave, noble Drystan and beautiful, virtuous Jezebelle had fallen in love with each other, and the latter would leave her small palace home forever. The sorceress knew she could not let this happen, so she imprisoned Jezebelle underneath a magical wall of ice, and decreed that she would remain there until Drystan renounced his love for her, and vowed never to return. He refused repeatedly, and this angered the sorceress so much that she used her magic to erase Drystan's memories, steal his youth and handsomeness, and banish him to a land far, far away. When he awoke, disheveled and frightened, he had no recollection of who he was or where he'd come from. His amnesia never passed, and it caused him to become an incredibly miserable person intent on disrupting and negatively impacting the lives of others, unaware that this was, in fact, exactly what the selfish, heartless sorceress had intended.

So, will Drystan ever reclaim his past? Will he succeed in defeating the sorceress and freeing his lost love from her icy prison? Man, this sounds a heckuva lot like a fairy tale...

Backstory ~ Fade grew up a loner. His pack abandoned him when he was only a child because he'd not met the requirements to fulfill the duties of a member. His father and mother, the alpha male and female, were completely disgraced. They had failed in the worst manner a Shielupe of their pack could. They'd left their only son to die, and their once loyal comrades began to plot an uprising. Our rulers are weak and have lost favor, so why not seize the opportunity while we can? That was their thinking.

Meanwhile, Fade managed to raise himself. From observing the wild creatures of the Roraldi Forests, he learned the basic skills of survival, and improved from there. He is a surprisingly quick learner, and possesses a reliable photographic memory, which is an obvious assest to someone living on their own. Currently, Fade is content to live out his days in Roraldi, sometimes visited by a young woman who brings him fresh vegetables. (Fade's a vegetarian.)
