A Chronicle is an object holding the memories of a whole world. Every world has one Chronicle and sometimes, worlds fuse together. When that happens, one world gets erased except for the part of it that had its Chronicle in it, the Chronicle becoming "closed". Such a Chronicle is the one Zephon is born from - the Chronicle that belonged to the world Cadenza is part of before it fused into the recent material plane.
Chronicles and their endless knowledge hold great power, especially the power to bring forth more fusions, though every Chronicle can only do that once. When a criminal of Cadenza found the Ancient Covenant without knowing what it was, he managed to draw power from it to make himself invincible. Since he was no mage, though, he did it wrong and the Chronicle became unstable, threatening without anyone knowing to fuse a world on top of Cadenza. The Chronicle and all its recorded memories reached out to the one it found best suited - Rizwan, who had worked closely with Chronicles all her life, and told her of the upcoming danger. The magic academy, under the leadership of the Empress Consorts, managed to regain the Chronicle and Zephon, being born in the first place just to convey the original message - and therefore looking much like someone from Janam, since the Chronicle drew upon Rizwan's memories of her people - got curious about humans and what people now inhabited the part of the world that his Chronicle belonged to and stayed. Rizwan is actually grateful for that, especially since she knows now what Chronicles are and since she really doesn't want to have anything to do with them anymore after what she had pushed her daughter through.
Zephon now lives in the magic academy of Cadenza, in a magically formed office he likes to sometimes move around just for the kicks of it. He is extremely powerful and can draw upon the knowledge of a whole world, so while he has no officially position in the academy, everyone respects him a lot and he teaches about magic and the world that once was. For some reason, he mostly enjoys using magic to make trees and plants grow so his office is actually half a forest full of light and life.
Zephon is very mild-mannered and rather calm, though not to the point of being shy of refusing to take charge. He always trys to help everyone, thinking that he owes the academy and its students for 'rescuing' him, though no one else thinks he needs to. While basically only being a few months old, he is just like a human, having the memories of millions inside of him, and has no problems fitting in, though he does keep to himself quite a bit. Maybe that's because he's secretly crushing on Asad...

For the longest time, Kiehl, heir to a technological company, thought he was a normal Fellox with a bit of an odd growth. That was until a white god told him he is actually a robot, constructed by his father to take over his company. What makes the matter worse is that Kiehl has a real soul, but because his heart is artificial, it will not be able to pass on to the afterlife when Kiehl dies because the white god can't detect it.
Kiehl, who figured out his father secretly builds robots as war machines, wants nothing more than to stop the criminal, but he also needs his job in the company, for he figured out that a new heart, made from a metal called Mylosium, would make his soul be heard. But Mylosium is incredibly costly and the amount needed would cost millions.
Kiehl's father made his son, now that he knows of his heritage, construct a new generation of robots, supposed to be better and lighter than Kiehl's version. Kiehl had no chance but to agree, but messed with the plans and made the new generation soulless beings, to avoid creating another soul which would be stuck. However, to disguise this, he had to create two prototypes with free will. His studies about new robot-hearts made him able to construct at least two versions for the lighter generation of robots that would made their souls be heard. He was allowed to keep these two prototypes after testing was over and they now work as his assistants, together trying to bring down Kiehl's father.
Kiehl is unflinchingly polite, always trying to make a good impression since he knows people will probably judge him differently once they know the truth. He also has a different, robotic form for fighting, which looks pretty scary and not at all like the thoughtful, slightly depressed young man he really is.

One of Kiehl's assistants, Alicel is a third generation robot Fellox and the only one of her kind with a soul and a free will. Created by Kiehl, he saved her when she, having done her job as a prototype and development was finished, was about to get destroyed. Alicel has razor-sharp metal front claws and can float when she switches into her fighting form, but otherwise, she looks pretty normal and no one would guess that she's not a normal Fellox.
Alicel is pretty self-confident and loves to tease Kiehl and Aliot. She sometimes has little patience with her boss when Kiehl gets all depressed again, but she's absolutely loyal and would do anything to help him. She's really popular in the company as she's so easygoing. People often tease and accuss her of having a relationship with Aliot, which is not true, but that doesn't mean that the thought has never come to her, either. She just wants to get Kiehl a working heart first before going into a relationship herself.

The other prototype created and saved by Kiehl, Aliot is far calmer and harder to agitate than the emotional Alicel and rarely complains about anything. Serving Kiehl loyally, he's the one Kiehl turns to when he needs advice the most, though it's often Alicel who comes up with the best ideas thanks to thinking unconventionally.
Aliot's body has more metal than Alicel's, so he can't fly, but has, together with metal claws, a gripper arm and knifes on hinges embedded in his back he can use for attacking or pulling himself up walls with them. He just hates it that he always loses quite a bit of fur thanks to them when he switches into his battle form.
Aliot has a secret crush on Alicel, but doesn't want her to know, which is why he hates that everyone always thinks they're together. Even Kiehl teases him with it and is basically just waiting for the two to hook up. It stresses Aliot quite a bit.

Always interested in robotic development, Kiel started planning to build robots at an early age. He then fell in love with the secretary of a rich man, Allysia, and tried to win her heart. Allysia, however, loved her boss and, when he was about to get forced to get engaged to a noble woman, decided to run away with him. Kiel tried to stop her and met her at a riverbank, assuring her he was the one for her, but Allysia wouldn't have any of it and instead showed Kiel the engagement ring she had gotten from her love. Devastated and angry, Kiel tried to take the ring from her and in the resulting struggle, Allysia fell into the river and drowned. When her body was found the next day, she was still clutching her ring and Kiel, wanting to have it, gave all his money to buy it.
Left with nothing, he wandered the land until a criminal from the underworld offered him money and subordinates if Kiel would built robots for him. Kiel agreed, wanting revenge on the man Allysia had loved, and started to build robots as war machines, basing the design of the first generation on Allysia and keeping his first robot as a secretary. He then used his influence to ruin the lover of Allysia. Wanting nothing more than a family, he then developed a second generation of robots, now able to feel emotions and who required surgery to grow. The criminal, however, didn't want robots like that and forced Kiel to destroy them all but one. Kiel named his last child robot after himself - Kiehl - and placed Allysia's ring inside of him, as a sign of Kiehl being their son. He wanted Kiehl to grow up well and develop even more lifelike robots who are completely like normal Felloxes. Kiel doesn't enjoy working for a criminal, but by now, it's too late for him to get out. He secretly hopes his son will live a better life than him, though, and that he will find someone to be happy with.

Allysia is the first robot Kiel ever built and kept as a secretary, while the others of her design were sold as war machines. As she is one of his very early developments, she can't feel emotions and has no free will, though she does appear normal enough and can lead conversations really well. Since her body is mostly made of metal, she's also very heavy. Allysia is not a fighter, but if Kiel would give her an order to fight, she would do so without hesitating and probably do really well, too.
Allysia was built looking like the woman Kiel loved so much and is very precious to her master, even though she can't show any emotions and therefore not smile for him - the thing he loved the most about the real Allysia. To make her different from the others of her kind, Kiel has enhanced Allysia's skeleton with Mylosium, keeping it from his criminal boss as the only kind of rebellion he dares to do.
Allysia help raising Kiehl as good as she could and he does see her a bit as his mother, especially since she's a robot as well. He just mourns she doesn't have a free will and can only follow the orders of his father, though.

Zeo is the king of the kingdom of Pandovia. His father was a tyrant who brought terror upon his people and forced Zeo to marry a princess from a neighbouring kingdom, Hyri, when he was eighteen. Hyri died upon giving birth to their son, Lelouch and Zeo decided then to lead a rebellion to overthrow his father to create a kingdom his son and all the people could live in in peace.
It took three years, but with the help of a lot of friends, Zeo was victorious and took the throne. Now, three years later, Pandovia is at peace under Zeo's rule.
Zeo is incredibly clumsy most of the time, stumbling from one embarrassing situation into the next. Most of it has to do with either bad luck, his little son asking embarrassing questions, Gordon teasing Zeo or Zeo stumbling over his words in front of Dio, his advisor, whom he is in love with since ten years. In fact, most of his free time, Zeo spends with his friends who give him advice about how to finally get Dio, but Zeo is too scared to do anything but to admire Dio, who is, after all, at least his best friend.
Zeo is also a horribly bad cook who should not be placed next to an oven or anything else that he could use to set himself or the kitchen on fire. He's also scared of spiders.

Lelouch is the energetic, happy, little prince of Pandovia and is loved by everyone. There's little which scares him (besides his father's cooking) and he even managed to semi-befriend Fugue, who isn't known for being nice to anyone. Lelouch also has the amazing ability to embarrass everyone around him constantly without ever meaning to - he's just a curious and rather smart child and likes to ask a lot of questions and make a lot of remarks adults seem to find rather unsettling sometimes. He also desperately wants a mommy and tries to set his daddy up with the not-so-enthusiastic help of his "followers". Little does he know that his father likes Dio instead.
Lelouch also is a great fan of bunnies. He loves them and desperately wants to own some, but his father keeps telling him he's still too small. Instead, Lelouch owns a little, stuffed bunny he named "Mr. Fluffy".
Lelouch is horribly cute and he knows it. He loves hugging people - especially girls, because "they are soft" - and usually gets what he wants by just making big eyes at everyone. After charming his way into the library staff and making everyone, including Fugue, his "Loyal Followers", he is right now trying to "convert" Dalziel, but has little success so far. But everyone believes that sooner or later, even Dalziel will succumb to the cuteness.

Dio is a Dracon, a race which has dragon-blood in their veins. They are extremely loyal, hard workers and have great magic power. Like all male Dracons, Dio hides his red eyes and sensitive ears behind a mask, which he will only take off after marrying his "Chosen One", for Dracons only marry once in their life, as they bond forever. They also have little choice in their picks - it just happens, like love. Dio's "Chosen One" is Zeo, but, like it sometimes happens for Dracons, it is a bond of loyalty and admiration and not one out of love. Then again, for all Dracons, these picks have evolved into love sooner or later.
Dio met Zeo when he was sixteen and has been at his side since, being his best friend and, by now, after the rebellion, his advisor and First Mage of the kingdom. This means that, ever the hard-working Dracon, he tends to work way, way too much and because of that is somewhat socially inept since he simply lacks the experience. He is always polite and friendly, though, but tends to be rather lost when it comes to jokes and trends, which makes him perhaps a bit boring person.
Dio is (seemingly?) oblivious to the fact that his king is constantly drooling after him and can't keep his eyes of his ass. He's always acting all cool, calm and collected as well and thanks to covering half his face, it's kind of difficult to know what he's thinking. However, he's absolutely loyal to his king and the little prince as well and suffers with Zeo through all embarrassments coming their way without ever flinching, especially from Gordon's direction.

Gordon is the archbishop, but no one would guess that if not for the fact that he's always wearing fancy clothes and holy emblems. Gordon loves nothing more than to tease everyone around him, especially Dio since the Dracon has, to say it with Gordon's words "so many sticks up his ass that they come out of his head". No really, Dio and Zeo as well are constantly harassed by Gordon that they should get laid and well, Gordon also loves to imply that they have a thing for each other. If only he knew how right he was, at least in terms of Zeo... Actually, when Zeo isn't getting embarrassed by his son, he's getting embarrassed by Gordon.
Gordon lost his eye in a battle with a lesser dragon. It doesn't really bother him anymore, though. After the rebellion, Gordon decided to become a pacifist, but still loves to brawl and beat monsters up. How that exactly works out, no one knows. Gordon says it works. So much for that... He has holy magic, but he has never been much of a mage and his magic is pretty weak.

Sarbar is, since many years, the commander of Pandovia's army. Despite being rather old and wanting to retire, can't because there's no one as good as him. He fought in a lot of battles and wars and has seen it all, which is why he can probably be around Gordon, who is his best friend, without wanting to kill him all the time. He can appear a bit grumpy at times, especially around women, but that's just because he's really useless with them. He'd really like a wife in his old days, but he's too easily embarrassed by all members of the female race, ever. And by Gordon. But everyone is, really.

Minahana is a half-mortal - a being that never ages or grows sick, but who can be killed just as easily as any other person. This makes it impossible to guess her age - she looks like she could be five or forty at the same time. In fact, she is only five years old, but has the mind of an adult. She is the daughter of winter, the season, and was born when a spell hit the land and caused chaos everywhere. It's enough for her to eat snow and ice and she prefers to live in cold places like in the mountains. Around her, it's always rather cold, which tends to keep people away from her without wanting to, which she finds rather sad, but she has enough friends who can cast a small magic field around her to stop the cold. Minahana also has full control over her element of ice.
She is close friends with Zeo, who saved her after birth, and the other people of Pandovia and helps out in the high council. Many aspects of human life still puzzle her, so she likes to observe and learn, as she is naturally curious. This also makes her kind of easy to corrupt, which Gordon and Diadora gladly do sometimes. Diadora is her best friend, next to Zeo. She also gets along well with Simeya since they both love to draw.

Diadora was, before the rebellion, the greatest mage of the kingdom, being the only one who could use the Staff of Endless Travels, a magical items that can open portals to any place she has ever been to. She aided Zeo in the rebellion to overthrow his father, but afterwards declined the position of First Mage and decided to "retire" and to become the head librarian of the palace library.
Only that Zeo had other ideas and banned Fugue, the old bodyguard of his father, into the archive of the library since Diadora is one of the only people who can keep the dangerous man in check. So Diadora's days now consist of lots of yelling at Fugue and less library work. And ever since the little prince came into the library and made everyone there, including Diadora, his 'Loyal Followers', her free time has practically disappeared.
Diadora has seen a lot of crap in her life and tends to comment on everything rather cynically. Since she's used to being pretty famous and friends with the king, she tends to speak her mind no matter who's around. Her arguments with Fugue also taught her a lot of curse words.

Fugue was the bodyguard of the old king of Pandovia. A cruel, sadistic man, Fugue killed for pleasure and had enough opportunities to do so. When the old king died and Zeo became the new ruler, Zeo decided that enough blood had been shed and banned Fugue down into the archive of the library instead of killing him, just to piss Fugue off.
Fugue spends his work days now thinking about cutting people up, sharpening his claws, arguing with Diadora - whom he hates with a passion - and sleeping. Everything but doing archivist work, which piles up around him. Bad thing is that Fugue is the best fighter in the kingdom and everyone but Diadora is too scared to go down into the archive - well, everyone but Lelouch. The little prince one day snuck down there and decided that Fugue was awesome, making him his 'Loyal Follower' and pestering him ever since. At first, Fugue wanted nothing more than to kill the child, but slowly grew attached to him over the weeks. He's mellowed out a lot now thanks to Lelouch, but is still a considerable threat to everyone but Lelouch, who is absolutely unfazed by every curse and threat Fugue throws at him.

Not much is known about Dalziel, not even his real name, for 'Dalziel' is just an alias. He leads the secret service and the spy network of Pandovia and resides in a secret office deep in the kingdom, the place only known to the king and his closest subordinates.
Dalziel has assisted Zeo during the rebellion after his parents - his father having been the former spy master - had been murdered by the old king. No one has really seen him doing anything, though, but it is believed that Dalziel is no mere pen pusher who sits behind his desk. Behind his cool and calm appearance seem to lurk a dangerous creature, ready to strike.
Dalziel is always composed and seems rather unfazed by everything and while he pefers to be in his office and let others, even the king, seek him out if there is trouble, he will still go to great lengths to see the things which he believes need doing being done.

Shinonome was one Dalziel's master spy and assassin, being a living legend. It is said she had more contacts to everyone of importance than even the king and Dalziel combined and no one has ever seen her face and lived to tell the tale.
However, during her duty, Shinonome fell in love with another Fellox working for Dalziel, who died soon after in the line of duty - being killed by Bentner and Morwena and then having his head displayed for public -, but after his death, Shinonome gave birth to his daughter, Sakuya. Deciding to end her service to raise her daughter in peace, Shinonome gladly joined the rebellion to bring down the old tyrant and help Zeo to ascend the throne. Afterwards, she vanished seemingly without a trace.
Shinonome now calls herself "Shino" and still lives in the palace with her new identity with her daughter. They run a small inn together with another employee. Sakuya knows of her mother's old job and Shinonome, always afraid she might be discovered, keeps herself armed and ready to strike all the time, but hopes she will never have to kill someone else in her life.
Shinonome is always seemingly cheerful but calm, but still can't stop herself from sometimes hiding empty but dangerous-sounding threats in her messages if something is not to her liking - something she had to learn during her former life, though the promises were not as empty then.
During the whole rebellion, Shinonome tried her best to bring Bentner and Morwena down and avenging her beloved, but never managed to. She is the one hiding two magic rifles, said to be the only weapons to penetrate Bentner's magical shield, but the last time she fired them, they didn't went through and so, she had to give up. She's still haunted by nightmares and wishes for nothing more than Bentner's and Morwena's death.

Hans, son of Bentner, the most wanted criminal of the kingdom and advisor of the former king, grew up mostly without a mother and only with his father. While he admired him in his early years, the crimes and cruelties of Bentner quickly made him realize the truth when he got older.
Hans' only friend in his lonely childhood he had to spend with magical training is Soren, the Half-Dracon boy Bentner bought when Hans was six years old. It is unknown if Bentner knows of the fact that since he was seven years old, Hans sneaked down into the dungeon where Soren was held captive to bring his friend better food and just spent time with him. Now, with ninteen years, Soren is who Hans considers family. While Hans, clearly not a fighter, would never dare to attack his father, he probably would still defend Soren with his very life against the man they both hate so much.
When he was eighteen, Hans decided to get away and fled from the fort of Bentner to the palace when he managed to get a job in the Reconstruction Comittee under his mother's maiden name, feeling the need to make amends and help to rebuild Pandovia after everything his father has done. However, Hans vowed to return in the following year to free Soren - or die trying. Luckily, he survived thanks to Zeo and his friends helping him out and hiding Soren in the palace. Hans now lives in relative peace, though with his father still at large, he can't sleep quietly at night yet.

Soren is a Half-Dracon and Half-Dracons normally all get killed at birth. The reason is that for reasons unknown, Half-Dracons have a magical potential so great that they are, when they get older, unable to control it themselves and wreck havoc without meaning to. Half-Dracons have the same red eyes Dracons have, but neither their horns nor their plated fur. And while Dracons are normally all very tall, Half-Dracons are really short.
Soren is, quite possibly, the only Half-Dracon alive in Pandovia right now. He was bought as an experiment by Bentner when he was five years old and was immediately put under a strong sealing spell. Bentner wanted to find out how powerful Half-Dracons really were and forced poor little Soren through an intense magical training with some of the most powerful tomes and spells, even until Soren was on the verge of dying. However, Bentner made sure he survived and that his magic was sealed enough that there was no hope of escape for Soren.
All this made Soren very antisocial and bitter, being driven only by hate for Bentner and the wish to slay the man. With Hans, however, Soren is a totally different person, suddenly smiling and laughing. Hans was his only light in all the years of captivity and now, with Hans gone and in the palace, Soren is left with nothing but Bentner and his training. Soren doesn't know if he really wants Hans to return, though, knowing fully well that Bentner will probably kill his own son for running away and actually serving the new king - Soren believes he couldn't go on living if Hans died.
Over the years, Soren has managed to nick a few of Bentner's powerful tomes and keeps them hidden in his cell. By now, he almost enjoys Bentner's training and studies all the magical books he gets forced to study with intensity, knowing that in the second he finds a way to free himself of the sealing spell, he, thanks to his Half-Dracon blood, will be much more powerful than Bentner...and because he managed to steal Bentner's most powerful tome and replaced it with a fake. Soren knows all the training made him hopefully able to control his magic and that he is probably able to nuke Bentner's whole mansion with his stolen tome.
Now freed, Soren is back with Hans and more than happy. He now works as an archivist for Diadora - Soren is the most powerful mage in the kingdom and won't take shit from Fugue.

Simeya is the head of the Dracons in the city – she took the job after Dio went to become first mage. She’s an old friend of Dio and there was a time where Zeo feared she’d steal Dio from him, but then found out she’d love to set him up with the other Dracon. Simeya might look all dignified, but she spends most of her free time drawing porn pictures of Dio, Zeo and everyone else. She gets a lot of encouragement from all the other girls, too. Minahana colors her pictures. It’s a conspiracy!
Besides that, Simeya has, like all females of her race, time-based magic. She can slow down time in a set range for a few seconds. She can also teleport herself and others.
