Bentner Eilenberg was advisor to Charles, Zeo's father and former First Mage of Pandovia. All the bloodshed that happened during the old days of Pandovia was either approved or even suggested by Bentner. During his services to Charles, Bentner had amassed a large amount of money, having always been a man thinking of the future and being a careful planner, so that now that Charles is dead, Bentner is hiding with the remnants of his men in his mansion, which is more a fortress and has a more than comfortable money cushion. He only leaves the mansion in rare cases, mostly to meet with the other people who still support the old ways from the underground or other criminals. Everyone else wants him dead, but Zeo was sick of bloodshed and knows that he couldn't take Bentner's fort without losses, for Bentner is in the possession of one of the most powerful magical tomes out there and is also a mage of almost unrivaled potential. And so, Bentner remains alive and plots Zeo's downfall not-so-secretly, though he knows very well that he will most likely not succeed during his lifetime, which is why he sometimes strikes trades with Zeo for magical items - though he only does so because he deems Zeo very weak and easily influenced and Dio, Zeo's advisor, the real smart man in the kingdom since Dracons are excellent mages and very hard-working and loyal, all things that Bentner respects. But also, he is the only one of the Resistance that realizes that only sticking to the old ways will get him nowhere - if you want to defeat an enemy, especially one that is more powerful than you right now, you need to understand how he works, even if you reject his way of thinking. The rest of the Resistance refuses to even understand how the kingdom and its new ruler work now, while Bentner's trades are the effort of him to do so. He often says that the type of human he hates the most are scheming women - for all the cruelties he is responsible for, he is an extremely honest man, for lies are for the weak in his eyes and in the eyes of the rest of the Resistance; it was a teaching by the old king.
Bentner has one son, Hans, with his late wife, Beatrice. It was an arranged marriage and Beatrice was found dead when Hans was a small child. Some claim Bentner got sick of her, some claim she couldn't stand it any longer and it was suicide - Hans was left with only his criminal of a father and ran away when he was eighteen, only briefly returning to free his best friend, Soren, who was kept by Bentner as an experiment. The truth is that it was Morwena, Bentner's then-student, who killed Beatrice by pushing her down a cliff with wind magic.
Bentner is most famous not only for having the most powerful tome in the kingdom by the name of Creiddylad, he also created a spell of great potential by the name "Crest of Eilenberg", which is basically a spell hitting everything around him in a great radius. It is feared by mages and fighters alike and no one has learned to recreate it so far.
During his days as the First Mage, Bentner took on a student by the name of Morwena, intrigued by her magical talent and her firm determination and will to even sacrifice parts of her body to become his student and so picked her, despite her being a woman - Bentner orginally didn't want a female, for he has always little patience for female mood swings. For quite some months, he actually considered getting rid of her, especially when sixteen-year-old Morwena did her best to end up in Bentner's bed right away and being seemingly just as meddlesome as Bentner viewed most women. But when Morwena even picked what was very likely her death just because he ordered her to, Bentner had to reconsider and figured that while Morwena was surely not completely normal, she was, above all, completely devoted to him and so, he kept her around until now, making her his mistress as they are of the same mind.
Bentner loves to collect powerful magical artefacts and studying them to increase his power and because he deems it a waste to have them in museums, collecting dust. In fact, getting every tome in the kingdom is an even greater goal to him than killing Zeo. He is very well aware of the fact that he is at the top of the power ladder and wishes to not only remain there, but also increase his power still.
Bentner is cold and ruthless, yet he seems to have something of a soft spot for Morwena, though it is debateable if that's not only because she's doing everything he wants her to do and loving it. He treats her with respect, though, since she is powerful as well and he acknowledges that. In fact, one might consider her one of his most valueable possessions, simply because Morwena wants nothing more than to be considered something Bentner owns. When she doesn't meet his expectations, Bentner often makes her sleep in the kitchen as punishment, but he is also not above apologizing if he misjudged something, which is probably the cause why Morwena has such immense trust in his decisions and happily follows even the punishments, knowing that it pleases Bentner. Bentner has long figured out that simply telling Morwena that he is pleased is the greatest reward for her - he knows fully well that she is basically the perfect woman for him. Well, despite the voice, probably, but he learned to appreciate even that, since it's so shrill that he doesn't need to wear his hated hearing aid around her and Morwena is, after all, the only person that Bentner really talks to (it is, of course, debateable if he needs the hearing aid in the first place because of his old age or because he had to listen to Morwena for years...). He is also very well aware that Morwena, because of her Dracon-blood, is the only person he can really trust - he never trusted anyone ever before, but finds it hard not to trust her since it is her blood that binds her to him. As such, he does care for her well-being even more, since quite a lot of his own guards would probably backstab him all to eagerly to get the reward on his head, especially since his old body is slowly failing him and he needs help alreaday every now and then.
Bentner is close to seventy years old now and has especially some back problems, but he tries to keep in good shape. His age is a real problem for him since he knows his time is ticking away and there is still so much to learn and research. This, above all, keeps him working hard every day, having the best research methods in his fortress. He rarely relaxes, but if he does, he usually spends his time with some magical book. Even though he was Royal Advisor once and often in public, he now prefers his quiet life pretty much, though he is still as charismatic as ever if he needs to, being able to shut most people up with a single stare.
Bentner was never someone who enjoyed bloodshed or fights, despite all the crimes he ordered to be done - he simply considered them necessary. He rarely gets loud or snaps at people - he simply doesn't answer if his talking partner says something he considers dumb - which happens a lot - but then again, Bentner really only likes to talk about politics or magic and even then prefers to listen and only says short, meaningful things. Because of that, he is content if Morwena talks during their shared dinners, but only as long as she doesn't babble.
Bentner does believe in good manners and frowns at everyone who doesn't show them around him, but does the same all the time, even in the bedroom, which is probably another reason why he prefers Morwena so much - she loves him so much that she's really easy to please. Still, he only allows her to actually sleep next to him maybe once every three weeks (a bit more in winter, when he's cold), which Morwena considers a great reward and honor. Over the years, Bentner has had a number of other mistresses alongside with Morwena, mostly for variation, but since none had Morwena's intelligence, magical knowledge or beauty, he dismissed them all sooner or later - which is probably why Morwena deals with that rather well, despite the fact that something like that slowly kills her when it happens. Bentner actually thinks that Morwena approves, though - in his eyes, her Dracon-blood, which makes her so submissive and devoted that she loves to get ordered around, explains her way of dressing skimpily as a way of her to make sure that he treats her like a harlot and not as an equal worthy of attention and her high heels mean that she wants to make sure that he never kisses her since they are of the same height and he would have to stand on tip-toes to kiss her - something he would never do. For all her beauty, Bentner can't think of Morwena as truly beautiful because of her way of dressing - he is a proud noble and wishes for a noble female who dresses appropriately. If Morwena would wear different clothes, Bentner probably would have married her by now. It's unfortunate that Morwena picks her clothes to get the opposite of what Bentner thinks she wants: More attention. But Bentner never talks about things like emotions, so despite them living together since years, they have such communication problems that make both of them unhappy.
Pandovia's teenagers have made Bentner's famous hats into a meme after seeing him once in wind and with his hat remaining on his head without problems. That's probably because of a simple holding spell and because Bentner doesn't want anyone to know how much hair he still has, but tell that to some silly teenagers... What Bentner thinks about the endless list that claims that his hat could be anything from a laser cannon to an alien making him super-smart? No one knows - someone asked him once and recieved only a stare in return. He probably thinks it's dumb, though.

Maybe the most beautiful woman in Pandovia, Morwena is something between Bentner's mistress, partner-in-crime, servant, student and lot of other things. She had always been a very talented magical pupil, but from the second she saw Bentner for the first time, she wanted to become his student because Morwena has a bit of Dracon-blood inside of her and Bentner is her Chosen One, so not being with him or getting rejected by him would actually kill her - slower than a full-blooded Dracon, but it would happen. Bentner, however, refused to even let her take the test because he didn't want some hormonal female who got mood swings once a month. And so, Morwena boldly asked if he would allow her to take the test if she had someone take her womb and ovaries out. That got Bentner's attention and he agreed, simply to see if she would go through with it and had the royal doctor perform the surgery on the underage girl who paid for it with all the money she had saved up - only for being allowed to take the test, which also two hundred other students took. But Morwena went through with it and indeed aced the test as the best, becoming Bentner's student.
Having loved Bentner from the first minute, she wanted nothing more than being more than his student from the beginning, though, which unnerved Bentner at first, but despite his anger, Morwena simply couldn't stop. That was when Bentner decided on a trap to see how loyal she really was: He asked the king to order Morwena to show up in the royal office in the evening or die if she wouldn't come - but told her herself to come to the classroom at the same time or else he would be displeased with her. And Morwena, though trembling, showed up in the classroom, rather facing death than being willing to ignore an order from Bentner and displeasing him. To her happiness, that convinced Bentner that she indeed wasn't a slut but only loyal to him and invited her into his bed soon after she turned eighteen.
When Bentner was married to Beatrice because the king willed so, Morwena only managed to endure this despite her blood because Bentner loathed his wife - who was a famous actress, a profession Bentner never had a good word in the first place and who also coddled the son they got instead of letting Bentner teach him from the very beginning. Bentner often ranted to the other followers of the king about his wife, but since the decision had been made by the king, no one dared to help him - except for Morwena, who never cared about anything else but Bentner's wellbeing. When Beatrice went for a nighttime walk, Morwena followed her and pushed her off a cliff with wind magic - the first time she killed. The next day, the king ordered Bentner to investigate the scene of crime after making sure that it hadn't been Bentner himself. Bentner figured out right away that it had been Morwena; not only because the magic had been very powerful, but the execution had been lacking professionalism, but also because Morwena looked at him with big eyes upon seeing Beatrice's body and asking him if he was pleased now. In a never-spoken-of "Don't ask, don't tell" agreement, Bentner never asked Morwena if it was her and simply told the king that he had no culprit. Since Beatrice had always been unhappy in her marriage as well and also depressed, her death was called suicide in the end. It was also the only time Morwena ever had a date with Bentner - he took her to a restaurant that Beatrice had forced him to make a reservation in for herself and her husband. Of course, all Bentner did that evening was teaching Morwena how to use wind magic better...
Since becoming his student, Morwena spends her day by Bentner's side, now in his mansion after the old king died and she and Bentner had to flee and take refuge there. By now, she's almost as knowledgeable as him and uses the day to further the research on the magical items she and Bentner have stolen. Bentner is by now too old for any criminal raids, but since Morwena is so vital to him, she is only allowed to use fortunate opportunities to steal more items, too. Still, they have enough to research. Morwena loves power as much as Bentner does and enjoys her research, though the main reason why she does it is to make Bentner happy.
Bentner's old age doesn't bother her one bit, though she probably would love to end up in his bed every day, which is not possible anymore simply because Bentner is almost seventy by now. Because of her Dracon-blood, he is the only one for her - just like their less Dracon-blood makes the magic of Half-Dracons stronger than the magic of Dracons for some reasons, the emotions - good and bad - that Morwena has when it comes to Bentner are extremely amplified, which is why she is so extremely devoted. Normally, Dracons are willing to die for their Chosen Ones if their Chosen Ones reject them and pick someone else to love. This devotion and Dracon-normal loyalty is so amplified in her that Morwena doesn't want to be Bentner's equal, ever. However, at the same time, she does want his attention more than anything. Because of that, she changed her style of clothes after he had slept with her for the first time, but enforced a "no flirting during work" rule afterwards (well-needed, given how enthusiastic Morwena always is). Figuring that, when normally only surrounded by boring-looking, noble women, Bentner would surely notice a sexy woman, Morwena started to dress with basically as little fabric as possible to get more attention from Bentner that way if she wasn't allowed to flirt with him. Sadly, it caused just the opposite to happen, as Bentner thinks Morwena dresses like a harlot to be treated like one - only for sex, not for attention. They never talked about that matter and so, this still goes on, after fifteen years... Poor Morwena! She would love more attention besides sex.
She also always says that she doesn't want to marry him, ever, because to her, marriage means equality. What she doesn't know, because she is too young, is that forty years ago, the old king had been forced to discard a law after which marriage means that the woman belongs to the man and her taking on his last name doesn't mean equality, but marking her as his property. When Bentner talks about the 'old laws', he means that law, since it was enforced against the king's will. Morwena never heard of it since she wasn't even born back then; she thinks that 'old laws' mean the laws in effect when the king died. So when she says that she loves Bentner and wants to belong to him, but never marry him...she really confuses Bentner and makes him think that she's a no-sense-making, emotional female or that her Dracon-blood and human-blood don't work well together. Again, they never spoke about this, ever. However, if Bentner would simply decide to marry her, she would love to follow his orders, since this would be a decision made not by equality like a proposal would be. She's rather torn on the topic. A friend once asked her why she doesn't propose to Bentner since a marriage party would end up with their allies being forced to gift them probably magical items. Morwena immediately dismissed that, since their allies were always more than prepared for that scenario and had items ready that were of no meaning to her and Bentner. Then, the friend pressed Bentner to think about the hypothetical situation that it would be worth it and what he would answer if Morwena would ask. Bentner thought about it and then declared - in front of Morwena - that he would test her: That he would tell her that her insolent question would have displeased him and shown that she had forgotten her place and that he would kill her for it. If Morwena would struggle or beg, he really would stab her and get rid of her, but if she would accept even that punishment calmly and with graceful acceptance, he would still stab her, but with a magical knife that would close the wound after she would have lost consciousness and then marry her. Morwena listened with big eyes - and then praised him happily on being so smart and intelligent. She never said if she would have passed that test, but the fact alone that she thought of it as such a wonderful idea probably means that she would have...
Morwena's ideal idea of a relationship is one where there's no boring everyday life and where she knows the thrill of fear a bit. She would never stand for abuse, though, since she's incredibly proud, but Bentner treats her well unless she displeases him and then he "only" punishes her with sleeping in the kitchen or making her do some cleaning duties - and Morwena nods and accepts that without a second thought, since she believes she indeed doesn't deserve better since she has displeased her love and knowing that she is punished makes him happier again. In fact, as soon as Bentner tells her that he is pleased - especially when pleased with her specifically - Morwena beams like the sun and is happy for hours. She is, despite their odd relationship, probably one of the happiest women in Pandovia because of that. Actually, her emotional dependence and love for him is so great that even being allowed to perform the smallest of sexual acts on him gives her immense pleasure both mentally and physically.
Bentner has over the years had other mistresses besides Morwena and that always made her very unhappy on one side and also vomit blood, since dismissed or rejection will kill her over the course of a few months, but since Bentner also declared that it made him happy to do so, Morwena always accepted it without protest and tried to feel the usual happiness she feels when Bentner is happy as well. It always was rather hard, though, and she was always very happy when the other women were dismissed - and sometimes killed - in the end.
Morwena was cursed by a joint effort of Dio, Dorian and Diadora with the 'Nile Rose' - a tattoo of a black rose burned into the back of her left hand. It forever hurts anyway, but especially so when touched, to the point of making her faint in pain, so she has basically no chance to cover it up and it serves as the main feature in tracking her down. Because of that, she always wears gloves, though of course ones that don't cover the Nile Rose but instead put a force field around it to protect herself from accidently touching it. Her gloves, like the rest of her clothes, are a deep green - Bentner years ago once told her that green matches her eyes really well and she never wore a different color afterwards. Morwena also isn't a big fan of jewlery, but all her clothes are indeed incredibly revealing and sexy. She knows that she is gorgeous and can wear them, after all. She's a bit vain, but not overly so - she just likes to be pretty for Bentner and couldn't care less about anyone else. Mainly, she's just a really sensual woman.
Different from Bentner, Morwena is an extrovert who likes attention. She's also a tease, even to the point of being cruel, but since it has never been a secret that she probably at least has a bit of fun to "dispose" even of her own guards if they annoy her, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise. However, she can be surprisingly civil if you can tolerate her trolling and don't say anything bad about Bentner since she's also pretty easygoing. Since Bentner hates scheming women, she will never do so - she's just blunt instead and so powerful that she doesn't need schemes to get rid of people anyway.
For all her beauty, Morwena has one flaw and that is her horrible shrill voice. It's really bad and despite all tries, she can't do anything about it. Luckily for her, Bentner still comments that it's horrible, but not that it displeases him, probably because he does treat her fairly and knows that she's helpless in that regard. Still, Morwena also is rather loud in the bedroom, so Bentner probably deserves at least some pity there...
