Tanner's folks are still alive, not that it makes him happy to know it. They divorced when he was ten, and the marriage had already been deteriorating years before that. He spent a lot of his childhood, both before and after the divorce, used as a tool in their ongoing emotional warfare. Now that he's old enough to see some of that for what it is, he's deeply resentful, and incredibly bitter about the fact that he never had the chance to grow up in a loving family. :') Currently he lives with his dad, but they don't see each other much anymore.

This is Giovanni 'Vanni' Fauntleroy, military genius and battlefield veteran. He has a long history with war, which capitulated in the death of his wife and himself, his raising from the dead and the entrapment of his soul in a phylactery, which is now buried with his wife's ashes.

Vanni made his way to Evelon where he was pulled into the Imperial/Purine war due to his colors, and is now a master tactician in charge of training certain new recruits.

Jakerz is missing many pieces of himself, depending on the circumstances. He's a twisted god of creation that  ripped out his own beating heart, keeping it under lock and key, as he cannot be killed while his heart still beats, even if it is not within him. He, very recently, started making extra bodies by putting parts together from tortured or murdered victims, which he uses by leaving his body behind, his soul moving into the temporary body. It especially ensures that his real body wont take damage.

This is Dhaifu, pronounced "daif." He is a ruthless megalomaniac and coward, preferring to utilize flattery and fake friendship to manipulate bigger and stronger people into being his puppet and figurehead so they take the blame for anything that goes wrong, leaving Dhaifu unscathed. He is a firm believer in might makes right - to be more specific, he believes the meaning of life is about utilizing whatever talents you were made with to gain as much advantage over people as you can.

While "Olive" isn't a very long name, it's not her real name. Olive just kept that English name for all of her friends who don't have the ability to perform the same range of sounds as a raptor. Her name is more of a song of whistles and chirps, which can take awhile to say. Even in her own family in the Tengel names are used rather sparingly since they take so long to say.

Igavene is a great and powerful witch who created a safe haven for witches and wizards in the wilt'no desert. She has been blind since she was born, but she makes up for it by seeing the past and future.

Khadgar was a bookish student his whole life, so was never faced with things like injury/death and never had to concern himself with it. Let's just say being in the real world has given him a deep appreciation for the indoors.

Prague is a strange fae-type creature, she's got a bit of everything in her family tree, werewolf, dryad, etc. She's kinda pretty contrary and changeable, but is typically quite gruff and suspicious of most things. She travels with her straight-laced friend Ezra. They're under a curse to stick together for life, if they split up they'll eventually wither and die. But guess what? Conditional immortality! They've become pretty close over the centuries and would be inseparable even without the curse.
