Oh what sweet sad irony was this in Idalani? A small, less than enthusiastic, Lykuhna lay perched low on a tree limb of a rather short tree parallel to a steep drop off. Her gaze drifted out and steadied on one of the many frequent rainbows cast far out over the rocky mountains in the distance. A sigh escaped her woeful body as she slowly placed her head on her folded paws. She looked as though she hadn't eaten in days ... and she hadn't. In fact, unless someone forced it down her throat, the poor dear hadn't made a move to eat in months. Her ragged body was (barely) functioning on a few scraps of food and small doses of water.
She was one of the unlucky who had fallen hard from Love's gentle embrace, and was still falling it seemed. A trusted friendship turned love... only to have the end result be disastrous. A glint of hatred swirled with pain was not easily overlooked in her golden eyes. She furrowed her brow and growled angrily with clenched teeth as she recalled the tragic love story over and over again in her head. No matter how hard she had tried to dislodge it from her thoughts, it haunted her so. Live, love, and forget ... what a crock... It was more like Live, Love, and suffer for all eternity on what could have been but wasn't! Or what should have happened - in her book.
She hated him! Absolute, pure, untainted hate! How could he not have returned her feelings!? She did everything for him - he was her everything! Yet, without an ounce of effort to fix it, he had tossed her aside like an old newspaper! No love ... no love ... she had thought there was, but had been sorely mistaken. And she was paying the price for that mistake. Oh yes ... and what a price ...
