Aurora descended from the sky and landed gracefully on a small cliff away from the main paths travelers usually took to observe the falls. She had strayed farther south than she had wanted in her journey, but when she had seen the beauty of nature around here, Aurora had decided that maybe a visit to the world below the skies might even be worth it. It was slightly clouded, so she couldn't illuminate the skies anyway, so there was no harm in a small break.

The air around her shone with the colors of the polar light for a second when her paws touched the ground before it seemed to retreat to her fur and she looked around. The air was damp from the waterfalls, but she didn't mind all that much, even though it was a bit too warm for her taste. Sitting down, she started to admire how even this land below the endless skies had beautiful areas like this one. The waterfalls were impressive and their sound was strangely soothing to her ears which were normally only used to the howling of the wind. Aurora closed her eyes and allowed herself to relax for a bit, enjoying the peace the Idalani Falls offered.

Kiei walked slowly towards the shimmering water that cascaded over the cliff, she had spotted this area of idyllic beauty when the Prince had led them through looking for a place he could rule. Unfortunately he had not liked Barakka and had instead settled on Lambastia; which in truth was where she was supposed to be right now. Kiei felt guilty for abandoning her Prince's orders so that she could have some fun, but she reasoned that there was no harm in learning about the neighbouring country and it wasn't like he expected her to scout out Lambastia in a day so she would have plenty of time to get on with her job later. In the meantime she intended to climb to the top of the waterfall and enjoy the view.

As she was walked Kiei noticed a shining light flash off to one side away from the path, overcome with curiousity she left the path in search of what had caused the brilliant light.

Aurora watched the water cascading downwards for a few calm moments until she more felt than saw that someone was approaching. She was very sensitive since she was used to being alone so that anyone coming into visible distance made her anxious and alert at once.

She silently left the stones where she had been sitting and settled for a spot next to them where she was a bit more hidden from view. It was, most likely, just a traveler who had decided to stray from the main path as well to get a clearer view of the waterfall and would probably not bother her, but she knew that her fur was an unusual sight. Not wanting to attract more attention than needed but also not willing to move away from the scenery, she just waited, but her attention was, for the moment, more caught by whoever was coming her way than by the water.

Kiei approached the area that she had seen the light coming from, stopping she looked around confused for there appeared to be noone and nothing in sight that could have caused the odd phenomena. Shaking her head slightly she wondered what could have caused the light and where it had gone, before getting entranced once more by the sight of the waterfall, this was an excellent spot to view it. The waterfall was so near that the fine spray it made reached a fair distance over the land and Kiei could see a multitude of rainbows dancing in it. She was moving to some rocks intending to climb on top and get an even better angle from which to enjoy the spectacle, when she spotted something shimmering faintly behind them. Moving around the rocks she was surprised to see that the shimmery stuff was fur and it seemed to belong to a native female Lucain.

Suddenly realising that she was being rude and staring in awe at the native Lucain, Kiei drew back slightly and offered a smile and a quiet "Hello".

Aurora was quite surprised when it was another Lucain that approached her spot and one quite a bit taller than her as well. She had never seen a Lucain of this size, but then again, she barely knew anything about the lands below the sky, so she wasn't overly worried or fascinated.

She remained quiet when the other Lucain climbed the rocks she had been sitting on just moments ago. Luckily, her visitor seemed to be caught by the beauty of the waterfall as well and Aurora thought about quickly sneaking away, but then she was spotted - and stared at, as usual. She didn't mind that much, for the polar light was something humans and pets alike seemed to find fascinating and she was used to get attention, even though it was normally from far away. But now she was here, on the ground, as well and obviously, the other Lucain seemed willing to start a conversation.

Aurora, not really pleased by the turn of events, gave a nod. "Hello." Well, what else could she say? She wasn't used to talk to others and maybe the other Lucain just wanted to watch the waterfalls in peace. In fact, that would probably be for the best. "I apologize if I startled you." Aurora got to her feet, ready to look for a different spot.

"Not at all" Kiei assured the native Lucain, seeing that she looked like she was preparing to leave she quickly said "You don't need to leave, I don't mind the company, I won't be around long anyway as i'm planning on climbing to the top of the fall. You see that rock jutting out in the middle of the water, I thought that would be a most exhilirating place to both witness and feel the power and beauty of the water" Kiei stopped abruptly, realising she had been nattering on quite a bit probably due to nerves - she had never spoken to a Native before! She turned to stare at the cascading water again feeling a little embarassed with herself, she wasn't usually like this, she was generally much quieter this must be the result of forced silence in her Princes presence. Thinking of the Prince made her think of her duties, well she was certainly testing her limits to the max today what with disobeying orders and allowing herself to be seen by a Native when their presence in Evelon wasn't supposed to be known yet.

Sighing Kiei looked at the Native again and in a much more calm fashion she introduced herself properly; besides she had already been seen what more harm could giving her name out cause? "I'm Kiei by the way, Sorry for nattering on like that" she gave a small embarassed smile and hoped that the Native would return the gesture and maybe even stay a while so she could learn more about these Evelon Lucains.

Well, Aurora kind of minded the company, but the spot was great and if the other would leave soon anyway, maybe she could just stay and wait for that to happen. But obviously, the other one seemed really interested in talking. Nevertheless, Aurora gazed at the rock in question at the top of the waterfall, considering the option herself. Finally, she nodded. "It will be an impressive sight indeed. However, if the sun should come out, only spots further down will let you see rainbows created by the light." If there was anything she knew about, it was light phenomenons, for she was one herself. "But I agree, the spot up there will give you an impression of power, with nature at its wildest around you."

Aurora went silent when the Lucain introduced herself. If she would return the gesture, she was probably in for a chat. Still, she could not deny that the people living on the ground intrigued her as well and since fate had decided to give her the body of a Lucain as a form and she actually knew little about her own, well, 'new race' as well, maybe this was a good opportunity. She could always excuse herself, after all and if Kiei wanted to climb up anyway, maybe it would be a rather short talk. "My name is Aurora. It's a pleasure to meet you." There was no smile on her face, but she tried to sound polite and finally sat down again.

"Well you certainly know a lot about Waterfalls, if the sun comes out I shall have to go further down to see the the rainbows after i've been to the top". Kiei was very impressed by the Natives knowledge, but then maybe all the Lucains around here knew this sort of thing, maybe they went to some sort of 'nature school' where they learned about their environment and how best to commune with it...

She was pleased that the Native chose to stay at least for the time being, the fact that she did not smile was not lost on her but neither did it bother her, she was used to haughty nobles from her home land always waging war with other through power of speech and little insults. She was aware that she had probably intruded on this Natives alone time but didn't want to leave quite yet, besides she wasn't being wholly rude, she still sounded polite if not friendly and she might warm up to her yet.

"Aurora" Kiei tested the odd name out That is a very interesting name, does it mean anything?" Kiei was already fascinated by this breed of Lucain, questions flew through her mind as she surreptitiously studied the other Lucain. She noted how much shorter and slimmer Aurora was and wondered whether they were all that small or if it was just this one in particular and the vibrant shimmering coat she had was simply to die for, were they all this beautiful or was this a rare colouration?

Aurora laughed lightly. "Quite the contrary, this is the first time I've seen a waterfall from so close as well. I am normally not...travelling this region. But I happen to know a lot about light and phenomenons of this kind."

She then saw Kiei looking at her again. Well, there was no use in hiding anything - the other incarnation, Borealis, always told her that she should not tell what she was, but Aurora had never seen any reason to conceal the truth. She was not one for games and lies, in the end. "Aurora...is part of what I am. Have you ever heard or seen the Aurora Borealis, the polar light? That...is me, kind of." To prove her words, she let the air around her shimmer a bit, even though it was nothing compared to what she could cause when she roamed the sky. The ground was not the place for the polar light. "I normally travel the skies, not the ground, which is why I know little of the world here."

She just hoped she hadn't made herself all that interesting right now. But people living on the ground always seemed so easily fascinated - if they belived her, that is. Aurora didn't really get why, for ground-dwellers always seemed so interested in power and wealth and she had none - while the polar light was beautiful, there was neither magic nor might coming with it.

Kiei openly gaped at Aurora as she caused the around her to shimmer, this was something very new to her indeed! Shutting her mouth with an audible clashing of teeth Kiei closed her eyes for a couple of minutes and centered her thoughts. Feeling somewhat calmer she finally replied to the magical Lucain "So you were the light I saw before!... Aurora Borealis?... Polar Lights?... no I have never heard of them where I come from" stopping suddenly Kiei mentally cursed herself for mentioning that she wasn't from Evelon and fervently hoped the other Lucain or whatever she was hadn't paid any heed to her slip-up. "So you normally travel the skies? I'm afraid I don't quite understand" Kiei was slowly growing worried, if all the native Lucains had this or any sort of power like this then the Prince and the others didn't stand a chance of dominating them and subjecting them to their rule. But how could she ask Aurora without revealing that she was a foreigner... She decided she would wait and hear her response, before risking revealing more about herself.

"You are not from here, either?" Aurora immediately picked up that fact. Well, where could Kiei be from? As wide as the skies were, Aurora never left a certain region of what ground-dwellers called 'Evelon', for the polar light could not be caused everywhere in the sky. "I know little of the ground, but you do seem to look...quite a bit taller than I am and I have the body of a normal Lucain of these lands." She tilted her head, for the first time taking truly in that Kiei might be a traveler from far away.

"So there is no polar light where you come from..." How might the skies be elsewhere? Different from her own? Kiei couldn't be from Evelon for sure, for Borealis roamed the skies of Evelon she did not. "It is...I am...a phenomenon. I had not always had a body...there is no real way I can explain just what I am. I am like the rainbow, not always visible in the sky but never truly gone fully, for light is everywhere." It was, she guessed, hard to comprehend.

"I travel the skies - like that." She took a small leap, flying up and running a few steps out into the open area above the waterfall. As it was daytime and she wasn't high up, she couldn't cause a true polar light, but that wasn't her intention - she didn't want to draw more attention towards her spot anyway. Still, she allowed her body to halfway turn into light again; not the curtain of colors she truly was, but at least tainting the light around the area into blues and greens before landing near Kiei, her paws turning solid again.

She saw Kiei looking concerned. "I have no true power. I am not what ground-dwellers call a mage, a wizard or a demon." She smiled a bit. "There is nothing powerful about this. I just am not of flesh and blood, normally, even though this body is. It is a form I can take on, but even I don't know why. Please do not be concerned or scared."

Kiei thought for a bit before deciding that, as this strange Lucain didn't seem much of a threat and she really needed to know if this was common among the Evelon Lucains or not, it was worth the risk of telling Aurora the truth about herself and once she explained it to the Prince she was sure he would agree that it was a necessary evil. "No, I am not from Evelon. I am from a place called Risoukyou It is a land far far away and it has taken me months to travel this far. Risoukyou is a paradise land filled with sunlight, fruits, food, water - everything you could possibly need. But I grew bored of living there where the Nobles bicker among themselves and nothing of interest ever happens". There, that was the truth about herself and she had managed to avoid mentioning the others and most importantly the Prince and his true intent for leaving Risoukyou and settling here.

Kiei watched with keen interest as Aurora demonstrated what she meant by 'travelling the skies' and tried to fathom her explanation of what she was; the way she related herself to rainbows and showed off some of her true power as she walked in the sky helped Kiei to understand her more, though she still could not fathom exactly how impressive the real thing would look when Aurora was fully herself "What you do is simply amazing! Anyone would give up their lives to have such a gift!" she exclaimed in wonder.

As Aurora explained more about herself Kiei grew less agitated looking, she was greatly relieved to hear that Aurora was indeed different to other Evelonian Lucains "So there are no others like you? And the other Lucains here, they are just normal magicless Lucains?".

Aurora tried to comprehend what she heard. Fruits, food - these things meant little to her. While she had indeed to eat in this body, she walked in it so little time that it was no concern. But water and light were essentials, even though it was hard for her to imagine how it could be different from water and sunlight here. And 'nobles'...She had heard the word before, but could not grasp the concept fully. She only knew it had something to do with owning money. "What you tell sounds intriguing, but I am afraid I know little about nobles and everything else related to the ground. I have no use for money, wealth or power - I have seen the ground-dwellers fight for it many years and it seems that these things bring nothing but violence into the world."

She smiled. "What I showed you is not a gift - it is what I am. It is what I have to do. I travel through the skies where the light can be seen. It is a lonely existance, but I do not mind. I doubt it would bring ground-dwellers happiness, though. Everyone living down here seems to need others."

"There is one other like me - Borealis, who travels the skies as well, but paints them in violet and red. His body is not a Lucain, though." Aurora sat down again. "I know little about the ground-dwellers, but I know that not all are alike. There are many Lucain here and many posess powers while others do not. I have heard of one called Baal who wields great power and so do his children. But there are many more and most tales include violence, power and the struggle for it." She looked at Kiei. "This ground here has seen wars in the past, has seen angels fall and demons rise. It is not a land of peace, even though I do not know details, only what I have witnessed from above and what little I have heard. Maybe you should return home - I might be wrong, but I think the ground here is a dangerous place to be."

"Trust me nobles are really not that interesting, all they do is bicker between themselves or boast about how much land, money and power they have before selling their daughters off to marry the highest bidder, I was lucky to escape that fate myself and instead have chosen my own life mate" Kiei explained neatly summing up the society she had left behind. She nodded along as Aurora explained how rather than being a Lucain with powers she was more a Power who could become a Lucain, finally seeming to understand most of what Aurora was.

Kiei laughed, "Thank you for the warning, but I can assure you I am no stranger to fighting. In fact I quite enjoy a good scrap every now and then" she thought briefly before adding "Besides I cannot go back home anymore, I would be considered a criminal - for reasons I can't tell you - and most likely would end up clapped in chains to spend the rest of my years in a jail cage; that I think would be a far lonelier existence than even yours!" she smiled as if to say she didn't really care about not being able to return home but there was a slight hint of sadness in her eyes. "So there is another like you? And yet you say this is a lonely existence, do you not travel the skies together revelling in each others company?".

Aurora thought about what Kiei told her. To her, all ground-dwellers seemed to be like those 'nobles'. "Don't all ground-dwellers long for power and money all the time to rule over others?" It seemed like such a foreign thing to her. "I was not aware that there was a particular kind that was worse than others. They all seem the same to me when I watch them from above." She sighed. "I have no longings like that, so I probably don't understand what motives and urges ground-dwellers feel..."

Aurora also didn't really know about criminals - except that they were people who had done something most others considered wrong and were therefore punished - but to her, who roamed the sky, the thought of being imprisoned was worse than everything else. "I can't imagine a deed so terrible that it would warrant a live of imprisonment", she said. Kiei seemed rather nice for a ground-dweller to her, but she mistrusted them all and hearing that the other Lucain was considered a criminal by others showed her that she was right in doing so, but...

Dismissing this for now, for all that was confusing to her, she smiled. "Borealis and me, we are not beings like you. We do not feel loneliness, for we are part of the sky and never truly alone. Borealis roams a different part of the sky than me - like I can not fully show my powers in daylight, we both have places where we - our light - can shine fully. His places in the sky are different from mine, so we do not travel together, but we meet sometimes."

She thought about how she could explain. "You said you have a lifemate...this means you probably know about 'love'. I don't. We travel the skies not in our bodies, but as light and we don't...feel...then. We only have aquired this possibility recently, with the ability to use a solid form." She laughed lightly. "This is the reason I sometimes decend to the ground. Because I now am able to experience things unknown to me before, like emotions. So even though it is possibly clear that I'm not too fond of ground-dwellers, I am still intrigued by them because I feel like I can understand myself better when I understand them - even though I can't even tell if my...feelings...are similiar to those of them."
