It had been a long drive, but Kyrie was finally home for the foreseeable future. A good thing, since there was a good bit waiting for her. Of course it couldn’t have just been finding the front page story staring her in the face on her doorstep when she returned to her posh home…it had to be the largely out-of-place gothic sister plopped on her couch with the world’s largest grin and the paper held out to her side proudly as if she were trying to be a matador.
Madeline didn’t cease the grinning even after her famous sister had come running over to snatch the paper from her hands and take to reading it. To the driver who entered the home behind her Maddi offered only a nod—her real focus placed on Kyrie to see her reaction. Seza wasn’t far behind however, and soon both road-weary women were huddled over the paper reading along.
As soon as Kyrie mouthed the last words on the page her eyes welled up with tears and she tossed herself onto the couch Maddi was occupying. The darker sister moved to pat her wailing sibling on the back, Cheshire grin still on her face. Seza threw a hand over her face and mumbled something under her breath before moving to read the article again to make sure it was really real.
Clearing her throat, Madeline took charge. “So, girls. Do tell about your exciting trip.~”
