[ My ponies will be the following: Deep Quill, Sunny Spring, Tomato Field, Tomato Cherry, Wireboard, Vine Stalk and Sepia Note. They will appear and be played as necessary. ]

Nothing was too unusual for Deep Quill that particular day. A Saturday, which had started slowly for him. With his parents gone to Cloudsdale for the weekend, the black pegasus had the entire house to himself for the weekend. Sadly, most of it would be dedicated to doing his homework, but maybe he would get some time to himself afterwards.

He was lying down in bed lazily when he heard knocking on the door. Flicking his ear, the pegasus opened an eye, but he thought against getting up and answering; it probably wasn't important. That turned out to be a mistake when the knocking got louder and faster on the door. Grumbling, the pegasus wiggled himself out of his bed and made his way towards the door, noticing just how strangely colder it suddenly was today compared to yesterday.

With the door knocking ever loudly, Deep Quill opened the door forcefully. "What in the hay do you—" he started angrily, when he stopped mid-sentence to see what was outside his house: a blizzard blowing in full force... in the middle of a warm, gentle season.

"Deep Quill!" snapped the female earth pony standing in front of his door. "What are ye even doin'?! Were you still sleepin' in dis weather?"

The pegasus shook his head and blinked as he noticed one of his pony friends, Tomato Field, standing in front of him, together with her little sister, Tomato Cherry. The two stood out against the white blurry background of the blizzard that was raging outside. "I-I don't—"

"Lemme in, Quill! C'mon Cherry!" the red earth pony forced, grabbing her little shivering filly-sister by her scarf and pulling the two of them inside the pegasus's house.

Quickly moving out of the way, Deep Quill just frowned and raised an eyebrow as he closed the door quickly. "Uh, sure... make yourselves at home?" he asked a little indignantly, confused as to what was happening.

"Sorry Quill, but it's freezin' outta here! This ain't no weather for summer either! 'N we gotta do somethin', or else we're gonna lose our crops back at the farm!"

"Just, wait," the pegasus asked as he turned back to face the earth pony. "Why is it even snowing? And a blizzard, even?"

"How in the bloody hay d'ya want me to know?" the farmer answered angrily, getting antsy that they were wasting so much time. "Dis why Ah'm so freaked out here! Ya gotta help us figure dis out!"

Warmed a little, Field's little sister craned her neck forward towards the black pegasus as she also pleaded for his help. "Please, Deep Quill? Mah sister's gonna lose all her 'ard work if we don't do nothing to stop dis here blizzard."

Sighing, Deep Quill shook his head. "You won't even take no for an answer," he grumbled a little, although the stakes were high with Field losing her entire hard work for the season. "I'll grab my winter clothes and we look for the source of it, I guess."

"Yer a pegasus, dis why Ah thought ya'd know to begin with!"

"I don't work for Cloudsdale, I'd like to remind you," the pegasus called out from upstairs as he shuffled for his scarf and other winter accessories. They had no other choice but to go out in this blizzard to find out what was causing it.

While the world below was steadily being overtaken with snow, high above Ponyville there was another set of problems. A light blue mare drifted above the raging clouds that seemed to bring with them an endless supply of snow, ice and wind. Her two toned wings looked larger than normal; a welcome mutation given that she flew so close to the storm. But the look on her face didn't denote accomplishment or victory--instead the look she wore was one of worry.

"Oh, this is not going to end favorably. This is horrible..." The pegasus mare sighed as she tried one more time to get a tornado effect moving strongly enough to move the clouds to a less populated area. But the storm was too far into it's cycle and her efforts....useless. "I knew I shouldn't have chased after you! If only I would have made Glacier Chill and Snowdrift with me...they would have known what to do."

She pranced a little in midair, trying not to panic about the predicament she found herself in. This was the first time she had ever left her herd and, come to think of it, the first time they had ever let a cloud roam away. It had been so small and harmless when it had started she could understand it; she had just followed it out of duty. She wasn't strong enough yet to really herd the normally massive clouds by herself so she often caught the rare straggling puff or two that fell behind. This puff had been a magnet though and within an hour she had completely lost control of the situation with her family now travelling in the opposite direction. Even if they did notice her missing and send somepony to find her it would be almost a full day of flying and by that time the storm was going to cover this little town completely. In the middle of summer.

Well...maybe nopony would notice?

Once Deep Quill had found all his winter wear, the three ponies headed out straight into the blizzard, with the hopes of finding the source of this blizzard. Deep Quill's first guess was that maybe a pegasus or a hoard of them hadn't done their job and they'd let a stray winter cloud get here out of season. Still, somepony would've said something about it had it been a mistake, but it seemed like everypony in Ponyville had no idea what was happening.

The three ponies were struggling through the unexpected snow and chilling winds as a voice called out to them. "Deep Quill! Field!" cried out the little girly voice as a yellow unicorn made her way towards the three, covered almost entirely with scarves and other winter clothes. Using her magic —which gave out a light green color — the unicorn pulled down her scarf and her goggles up. "Do you guys know why there's a blizzard in the middle of summer?!" the unicorn asked, screaming over the winds — or at least, trying to.

"Sunny!" Field called back, recognizing the unicorn. "We ain't got no idea! Ah got Quill here tah help with dis!"

Keeping warm against her sister — or at least, as warm as a pony could get in this weather — Cherry was poking about in the snow as she tried to keep her mind off the bone-chilling temperature. Leaving the older ponies to their discussion, the filly took a look around the now snow-covered Ponyville, and then up at the clouds that were spouting this weather. Blinking and squinting her eyes up at the sky, the filly eventually noticed a pegasus hovering over in the skies, seemingly alone. "Tommy," the filly called out to her sister, getting her front hooves up onto her. "Look up there, Ah can see somepony up."

"What?" Field said as she looked down at her sister and then up where the filly was pointing. Blinking, the earth pony also noticed a shape flying up in the blizzard skies. "Quill! Get up thar 'n go talk to 'em!" the farmer ordered, without even telling the two other ponies what the two sisters had seen.

"Eh? Eh?" Sunny squeaked out of surprise and confusion, looking up this way and that and turning around in place. "What, what? What's up in the sky?"

Squinting his eyes to slits, the black pegasus eventually noticed a blurb as well. "I think I do see something," he said in a neutral tone, which sounded more like a whisper in this weather. "I'll try, but I don't know how far I can get in these winds!" the pegasus warned as he stretched his wings and flapped up towards the sky, aiming for the blue shape they were seeing from afar.

Struggling against the winds and sometimes closing his eyes entirely to avoid ice or snowflakes, the black pegasus struggled his way towards the light blue pegasus he could see flying nearby. Despite being a pegasus from Cloudsdale, Deep Quill wasn't particularly talented at flying, so keeping his balance and flight in this weather was an incredible challenge. "Heeeey!" he screamed out towards the blue pegasus, his eyes shut the closer he got to the blizzard cloud. "Is everything okay? Who left this cloud over Ponyville? Do you know anything?" he screamed, hoping the other would hear despite the winds and the distance between them.

Exhausted, the pegasus could only circle the angry snowclouds as they covered the town below, doing her best to keep the cloud from spreading out more. If she could keep it concentrated at least then maybe it would run out of steam. And with the weight of the snow gone, she would have an easier time herding it back to where it belonged. Oh, Snowdrift was sure going to give her a talking to...

Talking to? Wait, was somepony talking to her? Blinking bright green eyes around her, it didn't take long for her to pick out the speck of black among the blanket of white. Wh-what in all of Equestria was he doing up here!? He was going to get himself hurt! Before she could even open her mouth to say anything, however, her mind went blank save for one thought.

She had never dealt with anypony else outside her family alone before.

She had seen other ponies and stood timidly in the background while ponies snarled and grumbled at Snowdrift and the leaders...but she had never had to talk to any of them on her own. There had always been somepony older and wiser nearby to handle things....to keep them away. Oh no...what if she wasn't as convincing as they were?

Mustering up some courage and for a moment pretending that she was Snowdrift, Everfrost opened her mouth and yelled back. "Ah...everything is....fine! Yes, fine! Just a cloud that got away from the herd... I'm sure reinforcements should be arriving..." She couldn't bring herself to say the word 'soon'. It wasn't the full truth, maybe not even the truth at all.

"Just...go home. I'm doing everything I can!" She tried again, hoping to sound reassuring even though she had strong doubts in even herself. But even with her self doubts, there was no reason to put another pegasus in danger.

Forcing his eyes to open just enough to see a little ahead, Deep Quill tried his best to understand everything the other pegasus was telling him. At least, the two seemed to be able to talk to one another with relative ease, despite the strong winds. "If they got away, then maybe I can help you while the others come!" Deep Quill offered, standing still where he was because of the winds that were quickly growing too strong for him. "If we work together—"

He stopped in mid-sentence when a particularly hard ball of ice hit him square in the flank from one of the clouds above. Shrieking, the pegasus waved his front legs about from the pain. "Ow, ow!" he cried out, despite the blizzard burying most of his cries. He gritted his teeth as he realized that this would most likely leave a mark. He squeaked again as some smalled specks of ice hit him all over, and the pegasus eventually found himself drifting down towards the ground.

"Oh no, Deep Quill!" Sunny cried as she ran through the snow to get to the black pegasus. "Are you okay!?" she asked as she used her magic to spread the specks and snow away from the black pegasus.

"What'd dat pegasus say?!" Field asked through the winds, struggling through the snow to get to the two.

Rubbing his head, Deep Quill grumbled and forced himself back up as he shook himself all over. "She said to go back home; it's just some clouds that strayed away," he answered as he looked back up there. "She's saying reinforcements will come, but there's no telling when... but I can't fly up there!" he added as he turned back to his friends, suddenly to see something useful. Gasping, he turned to Sunny Spring. "Sunny! Your goggles! Give them to me!"

Taken aback, the unicorn stared and blinked. "What?" It took a few seconds, but the light yellow pony eventually understood. "Oh! Oh oh oh! I get you! Here!" Using her magic, the unicorn took the goggles and snapped them firmly in place on the pegasus' face.

"Thanks!" Deep Quill replied as he crouched and then gave himself a strong push towards the sky, spreading his unusual wings in full as he made his way back towards that mysterious pegasus, leaving trails of purple, teal and light blue in his wake.

Back in the skies and now capable of seeing in the snow and ice, Deep Quill was capable of making his way closer to the other pegasus — at least, as close as he could get without getting blown away by the winds. "I can try to help you while reinforcements come!" the black pony screamed, having blatantly ignored the blue pegasus's warning to just go back home and let this pass. "I'm not a weather pegasus, but I can still fly!"

At first Everfrost was rather pleased with herself. The other pony had listened! It was a small and hollow victory, but she had sent him away without calling forth anything nasty and no one had been turned into ice sculptures or made angry. It was one small shining moment in her day that was otherwise made up of ugly black marks. She went back to trying to contain the storm and condense it's area of destruction; no small feat considering she herself was only barely outside of teenage years and one her own against a raging force of nature.

Then all at once the little bright beckon of hope she had seen flickered out as the black pegasus returned, newly goggled up and ready to assist her. It didn't make sense--he could barely get close to her, let alone come close to helping her contain the storm! Somepony was going to get hurt!

"No, really! I'm fine...it's alright! Just go home and stay warm, all this will get taken care of!" She tried again, and trying to prove her point that she could hold her own, took off at rapid speeds to show her prowess at corralling clouds.

Those same clouds, by chance, showed their prowess at overpowering barely-mare-aged ponies.

Swept up by a forceful gust of wind, Everfrost was sent off course and instead of pridefully showing off skills she only had hoped would be called forward, was sent careening into another patch of clouds opposite the massive storm. White and navy tail was the only thing poking out until her over sized wings eventually emerged and managed to pull the rest of her body free.

"I can...I can handle this!" She tried without success to say minus tears. Oh, this day was just getting worse and worse.

Re: [* Christmas in July [P; MLP]

The first thing that came to Deep Quill's mind was that keeping warm in weather when a blizzard was entirely unexpected was a rather hard thing to do. Winter tools and clothes weren't out at this time, so getting ready for such an expected blizzard was fairly difficult. Because of that, houses weren't all that ready to warm up and get their heating systems going, especially not for a house like Field's, which was for summer work and not for wintery conditions.

That said, the black pegasus watched as the white mare continued to be stubborn and even tried to show off her skills to prove that she was capable of handling things. Now armed with those goggles, Deep Quill could actually see her more clearly, and as such, he was able to see her getting bullied by those blizzard clouds. He could also see her appearance more clearly: blue hues, with wings that were much stronger and bigger than a regular pegasus'.

When Everfrost was sent careening away, Deep Quill tried his best to reach her, flapping his wings as hard as he could; despite that, he was only moving forward slowly. "No, you can't!" he screamed out when the blue mare told him she could handle the situation. "And you'll get hurt if you think that way!" Regardless, it wasn't like the black pegasus had any better idea on how to handle this terrible weather. If they could see or fly better in this weather...

And then came an idea. "Hey! Can we fly all the way over these clouds? If we're above them and out of their storm, maybe we can make them stop or something?" He wasn't a weather pegasus, so the usual methods and ways to keep extreme weather under control wasn't something he knew about. He could only hope that pegasi that were formed to handle this sort of situation would come by soon.
