Well, I figured some of the updates we do aren't very minor, so maybe they needed a better place. So.. here we go!
First off, as a reminder, the Blue Moon season will be ending tomorrow at 9:34 pm. If your room is not finished by then, you can't be guaranteed a full litter/hatch. Obviously it's still possible, but yeah. Not guaranteed like the Blue Moon gives you. As a warning though, as I'm going out of town tomorrow, I'll be updating the season either tonight or tomorrow. That season won't start until the proper end of the Blue Moon season, but I don't want my absence to cause confusion.
Speaking of speeding something up due to my being out of town, a set of pups was grown up a day or two early since I won't be around to grow them on time, and a hidden gem was found within! I would like to introduce all of you to some of the new breeding quirks we are introducing, which will all be available in both Lucain and Paragon. Keep in mind they may not appear grown to you quite yet if photobucket is taking some time to refresh itself.
This girl's splotched has undergone what we have called an addition mutation, where the markings spread outward to cover more of the body or have undergone some change that adds something new to the marking. While they are all classified as one very rare breeding quirk, some of them might have 'names' of sorts, such as Silverin and I have been calling this one Painted, despite the fact the mark itself is still just splotched. When bred, these mutations are not passed on to offspring at any greater rate than they have the chance of appearing from a normal breeding, and it appears that some markings are genetically too stable to produce an addition mutation. This is also only a breeding quirk and may not be found in customs or randoms.
While not the easiest to see, this girl has also acquired one of our new breeding quirks, which I'm afraid I haven't given much of a proper name to other than Two Tone Markings. In her case, the two toned marking is her Arach, which is colored both bright yellow as well as orange. It's a bit hard to tell since the only orange of the marking is found on the little dots of the arach. This is probably going to be an uncommon quirk and is similar to how some people ask for something like the skull on the chest of a Lucain's reaper to be different colored from the rest.
I look forward to telling you all about the others that are hidden among your litters.
