Their bodies can withstand high pressures and extreme temperatures, enabling them to survive in the harshest environments. They are prized not only for their rich deep red coloration but also for the rumors of strong curative powers and protective energies. These Stargoyles are traditionally given as gifts on the second and sixth anniversaries and are a representation of affection and luck. They have a high self esteem, are strong, devoted and understanding creatures who will help those around them in times of need.
Amethyst:
Frequently dubbed "the Stargoyle of royalty", the Amethyst Stargoyle boasts a rich and luxurious shade of purple on the outer edges of its body. While they come in many shades of purple ones that are deep medium purple with rose-colored flashes are highly sought after and are frequently presented to upper class men to protect them in their travels. They are very sensitive to heat, dryness, acids and humidity so they groom them selves frequently, as well as finding suitable environments for them selves. In myths it held an inextinguishable flame with in its core and bringing it near wax would cause the wax to melt. They are very proud creatures who are faithful, loving and passionate. Using their strong ability to sense danger they will warn their owners before hand and protect them fiercely. Ruby Stargoyles are very sensual creatures and like to experience things through all their senses, due to this they are seen as being very curious and often unintentionally get them selves into mischief.
Peridot:
Peridot Stargoyles are very curious creatures, they love to learn and acquire new knowledge. Due to this nature they make the perfect study partner as well as good companions for librarians and scientists. Despite this curiosity they are shy and peaceful, doing whatever they can to avoid or prevent conflict. One of the most dazzling and beautiful gem Stargoyles, the Opal Stargoyles skin shimmers with a stunning array of color flashes. Like their Emerald relatives they are fragile and frequently groom them selves with an oil so they can keep them selves in the best condition. Unlike the Emerald they can dry out, if they dry out too quickly they can break easily. They are optimistic, enthusiastic and creative creatures, making them great companions for event planners. Opal Stargoyles can pick up on, amplify and reflect the thoughts, feelings, desires and buried emotions of those around them. This trait can cause chaos around them in the wrong environment and they are often dubbed the karmic stone.
Topaz:
This golden colored Stargoyle is associated with the sun as well as power. It is said that owning one grants divine protection and wisdom, making them sought after by the upper-class. Their hide grows darker for a brief moment when truth is spoken making them a common sight in court along side their Sapphire relative. They are also rumored to change color when brought around poisoned food or drinks, however this has yet to be proven. Topaz Stargoyles are rather empathetic and do their best to defuse negative emotions in others especially for their owner. A very special ability of theirs is the ability to heal and promote a longer life span because of this they are common companions for doctors.
Tanzanite:
The Tanzanite Stargoyle is considered to be one of the more mysterious of the gem Stargoyles. Its one of the newly discovered species of gem Stargoyle, because of this they are not yet popular as a pet. Their violet-blue color creates a feeling of magic, nobility and luxury as well as project the image of winter's majesty. They tend to keep to them selves and often come off as rather cold, however they are respectful, compassionate and honorable creatures. Gifted with the ability to see both ethereal and spiritual entities, as well as preform basic magic, they prefer to use the ability to help others over use it for them selves.
