Wow. Hope all goes well with your surgery.  Be sure not to stress your eyes too much afterward, so all will heal and do well!

Aah, no time off of work? :o Have you let your boss know what you're having done so they can know what's going on in case of any (hopefully non-occurring) atypical behavior?

Regardless, good luck! Will be sending all of the beneficial vibes your way; I hope that everything goes swimmingly for you and your ojos.

Yeah, I told my corporate head I was having the surgery, and the lawyer in charge of employees/vacations is also aware. But according to the surgeons, recovery is very fast save for dryness and sensitivity, for which you get special eyedrops to relieve the pain.

My corporate head asked for a selfie, lmao. I told him at our Christmas party Friday that he wouldn't be around to see me with my new robotic eyes (since he's leaving for Florida the week of the 22). So he told me to take a selfie, lmao.

He clearly didn't know who he was talking to, because I have no shame doing it. xD

But if all goes well, yeah, no need to take time off work. I told the surgeon I work a desk job and everything, and he said that was fine. To just use the eyedrops more often, probably, but otherwise I should be fine.

Good luck with your eyeballs, Shrewdie~ Sounds like it's a great investment if your glasses cost that much. Like, wow. I'm sure everything with be perfectly fine, though. :3

Oh gosh, good luck Shrewd! I really hope that everything goes well for you. I don't know much about LASIK surgery (or vision-related surgeries in general) but I'm hoping that you get the results you're looking for without any complications!

I wish you luck Shrewd. My nanny went through the same thing and she was fine afterwards. The older you are the longer it takes to recover so it should take you less time than her being as that your in your early 20s. My nanny just turned 87... last week. xD;; gives you an idea how old she is. Only thing she needs now is reading glasses.

That all aside, good luck to you. I hope everything goes well and nothing is too painful.

Good luck, Shrewd! Here's to better sight and no more glasses! *raises a glass to toast*

You can't wake up, this is not a dream
You're part of a machine, you are not a human being
With your face all made up, living on a screen
Low on self-esteem, so you run on gasoline

I think there's a flaw in my code
(Oh, ooh-oh, ooh-oh, oh)
These voices won't leave me alone
Well, my heart is gold and my hands are cold

Are you deranged like me?
Are you strange like me?
Lighting matches just to swallow up the flame like me?
Do you call yourself a fucking hurricane like me?
Pointing fingers 'cause you'll never take the blame like me?

Owie owie! D: I can't stand anything in or near my eyes. Sympathy pain!

Best of luck to you!!!

My wraiths, though not wraiths then, wandered deep into the heart of the polar storm. They tried to fight sleep, naive to the inevitability of their fate. When they awoke, they saw before them my own self, so much a part of the ice and cold they almost fail to see me. I wear a crown of the coldest, sturdiest ice, and my claws and fur have coated themselves in it.
I stand aloof to the cold, for I have lived in it so long, been a part of it so long, it no longer concerns me.

My wraiths are cursed to wander the polar tundra, eternally freezing, following mortal explorers and trying to warn them with their presence that they should not travel onward, should not make the same mistake. But there will always be those who persist in pressing on, never knowing what they are doomed to face, or destined to suffer.

Thank you thank you for all the well wishes~ Surgery is in two days, and I'm here with an update: they called today to confirm the surgery and the time!

I was antsy and nervous all day waiting for them to call. xD; They finally called me at around 4:15 to confirm the surgery, and to give me the time: 10:45AM!

Aaaaahah it's getting really real now guys.

For the curious: eye surgery varies depending on what you're getting fixed (myopia, cataracts, etc), but in my case, it's a very fast surgery that should take roughly 2 minutes per eye. Within 10-20 minutes, the surgery will be over.

Your eye has a layer called the cornea: the surgeon numbs your eyes and keeps them open, and then he starts by creating a flap out of the cornea. He opens the flap to get inside the eye, and then with another laser, reshape the tissues in order to fix the vision problem. He then puts the flap back down, and the cornea will start healing on its own naturally, without stitches.

They do numb your eyes, so apparently all you might feel is a bit of pressure, and it smell a little burnt because of the laser.

For those curious to see it visually (diagram), here you go. It even explains each phase.

Anyway, tomorrow I'm going for the eyedrops, and then Saturday will be the day. I will try to update as soon as possible, even if only to say 'went well' if I can't stand screens and lights. xD

homg, Shrewdie~ :0 I never knew how they did the surgery, so that is some very interesting info. x3 And it's really nice that it'll go quickly!  That's always a plus.  Well, once again, good luck~ ;o; I hope you'll recover quickly so we can be graced with your presence on Evelon once again~ ;p <3

I think back to the time when my search first began,
I left behind those shores of sand
For the endless everlasting world out there.

I know that with this burning passion driving me
Someday, somewhere I'll finally see
The light I have searched for everywhere!
