The sound of laughter echoed intensely through the cave, it was almost impossible to identify at all, and then words, Dr. Caladium had no idea what this person was saying but it was all soon followed by sure sounds of dismay. a loud splash, thunks.... and then the voice was completely gone.
Dr. Caladium didn't converse with many sea plants, not because he had anything against them, he was just more of the land dweller himself, but a feeling of stomach lurching panic had him reaching his hands into the choppy waters at the sea cave's lowest ramp. Plants don't speak like people, verbal conversation was never for plants (not to say they don't enjoy the acknowledgment), so just being in contact or near a plant was all he needed to ask for information. Plants spoke fast, but acted slowly, so it was mere seconds before he was carefully rushing his way toward the location he was informed on. What to do now was beyond him. He was, after all, only a poisonous plant botanist most days. But an option was tickling his mind threateningly, an option he wasn't fond of... but was fondness any excuse to throw a life away?
"O dear, O dear..."
"The Black Dawn,
what a ludicrous title."
"Have you ever seen a black sunrise,Mr. Speaks?"
"Precisely my point Mr...What was it again?"
"Tiberius"
"Ah yes, well, how does one suppose the light-giving sun should rise black?"
"Why would one suppose it refers to the sun?Does the dawn not refer to the moment a new day is revealed?
"Indeed it does! Imagine it! A dawn of darkness! Asinine!"
"You've never seen the sky after a pirate raid, mate."
