"I, I do apo," he spat up more, "apologize." he said as he stood up, he was feeling eons better now, but his body was still purging itself of that sickly saltwater, after another stream of slime poured from his throat, Dr. Caladium sniffled and continued, "I suppose you could say I'm allergic to salt. Twasn't the dragon's water that brought upon my, my" he heaved another stream, "condition." he gave a weak laugh.
"VanDarth, Germanic? P, pleasure..." he hesitated on the word, as though feeling like he would be caught in the lie, "to meet you. My name is actually Doctor Andrei Caladium, my practice is in botany." he tried to clarify, though he felt she hardly cared as her attention went to the cave entrance. Watching the lady pirate and her unusual ship mate walk toward the cave's ship dock, Dr. Caladium's attention moved to his coat and other belongings that still sat closer to the outside world than the inner most part of the cave. He didn't have a clue what warranted VanDarth's sudden acceptance of him or what was outside that caught her attention, but leaving his specimens to die where they lay was not happening on his watch, "I'll just um..." he began the slippery hike back to his things, following the exact opposite side of the cave from where the woman and dragon went.
"The Black Dawn,
what a ludicrous title."
"Have you ever seen a black sunrise,Mr. Speaks?"
"Precisely my point Mr...What was it again?"
"Tiberius"
"Ah yes, well, how does one suppose the light-giving sun should rise black?"
"Why would one suppose it refers to the sun?Does the dawn not refer to the moment a new day is revealed?
"Indeed it does! Imagine it! A dawn of darkness! Asinine!"
"You've never seen the sky after a pirate raid, mate."
