Kavi--------------------------------Gita

The tour was finally over, and now the pups were old enough to not only be mobile but to be more or less self-reliant. Saya had long ago forgone her canine form with them, and while some had watched her shift in amazement others had ignored her completely. Kavi, the little auburn male, was one such soul who had watched her change with extreme interest--pawing at his mothers pant leg and whimpering. She scooped the youngster up, smiling to him. "One day, I hope."

Orion had spoken for a while of purchasing the house beside Itzal--somewhere quiet and safe where the puppies could live their lives undisturbed. Saya had gotten quite anxious lately, leaving for a day or two at a time before returning home to her family. She had stayed too long, soon her scent was going to be all over this town. The new home would have to come soon...and when it did, she would have to leave to lead her trail away from her offspring and the man that, for some reason, loved her.

The little white female trotted along gracefully--holding the poise of a lady even so young and in such a form as a wolf pup. She exuded grace despite herself, something that worried Saya a bit. No child of hers needed to draw attention or flaunt themselves. But what could see do? They were only six month old puppies--all lanky and legs that most were still getting the hang of using.

"Orion?" She called softly as she placed Kavi back on the ground. "Is it time to go see the house yet?"
"I have been hidden, scorned, adored, worshiped, forsaken, coveted and banished more times than I care to count. But the one thing all those experiences cannot steal from me is the gentle soul I was born with, the kind heart I have molded, and the bright ideals for the future that have lit my way through the darkness of the past."

Cannox --------------------------- Kiana

Orion had been doing his best to try and keep everything together. Buying a house took time, and then there was getting all of the things that needed to go inside of it. Luckily for him there was a moving company he had paid very well to bring everything into their new home, and Itzal had been letting them stay with him until it was completed.

Watching the little black pup tussle with his auburn sister Orion sighed softly, picking them both up and holding them close. In some ways he hoped they would remain like this, innocent in a way, and oblivious to the hardships their parents faced. Another part of him longed for the interaction one had with human children, the language and touch, things he couldn't share with puppies. Of course he loved them, no matter what.

"Yeah, it's time to go home." Orion called back to her, smiling as he brought the pups over and set them with their siblings. "We can just walk over there, but maybe we should carry them." He offered, moving for a moment to pick them up again. The movers had just finished putting everything in place, and Itzal had 'puppy proofed' the house to the best of his ability, giving Saya and Orion time to just relax with the little ones.

Taking care not to jostle them too much as they walked he led them to the new house. It was almost just like Itzal's, only in a different cream color. The back yard was completely fenced in, and the inside was rather nice. A little more homey than Itzal's, Orion had chosen soft, rich colors for the place. There were a few overstuffed chairs and a large couch that hopefully all of the pups could fit on with their father. Once the door was shut he set down the squirming Cannox, who proceeded to cautiously explore the living room. Kiana seemed perfectly happy in her father's arms though, licking his chin.

"What do you think?" He asked Saya, smiling to her.

Saya scooped up the other two pups, who grumbled and whined about being stopped from their play. The walk was thankfully short, and upon entering the house Saya had to admit that she was impressed. Orion had done his best to see to it that the home was cozy and already felt welcoming and lived-in. She placed Gita and Kavi on the floor as well--Kavi quick to follow after his brother whereas Gita sat beside the door for a moment and dutifully took in her surroundings.

"It's lovely, Orion," she complimented. Taking a few tentative steps herself, she peered down a few of the halls to see what else the home held. It was strange to be here, to know this is where she belonged in some sense. It was so much different than her barred cell and yet...right.

Finally satisfied with her first survey, Gita stood to all fours and padded softly into the house--holding herself ever as the little lady that she was and taking carefully placed step. She cast a disapproving eye to her brothers as she passed, turning the corner towards the bedrooms down the hall.

Kavi sniffed at her as she passed though instantly leaned over and grabbed Cannox by the ear lightly, growling and giving a playful tug. Hey, come on. This was just another place they were going to hang out in, time to play!

Orion seemed relieved that Saya liked the house. He just smiled broadly as he set Kiana down, giving her a gentle push. "Go on, go look around." He urged the reluctant pup, who sat by his feet for a few minutes until finally nudged to follow after her sister.

"I know you don't want to stay forever, or even a long time, but you're always welcome here Saya." He spoke softly, gently taking her hand for a moment to show her down the hallways. "Each of the kids can have their own rooms if they want, and there's a master bedroom." He  opened up the doors so the pups could look into each room. They were somewhat plain for now, but each held a bedroom set and plenty of things to play with for pups or kids. "Itzal helped me yesterday, puppy and baby-proofing the house. All of the unoccupied light sockets are plugged, and there isn't anything small they can choke on, and all of the cabinets have safety things on the doors."

Cannox growled playfully at his brother, turning away and pawing at him to get him to let go of his ear. He was just as excited about this new place as his brother. It smelled clean, but also like dad and Itzal, and they were nice.

Saya didn't tense noticeably when Orion took her hand, but she was careful to give a gentle smile and resist the urge to recoil. Orion always meant well, even if a lot of that went against her brainwashing and years of training. She should be flipping him over her shoulder right now to prevent him from getting the upper hand, not following along. But follow she did, calmly and with barely a second thought. She was safe here, for now, she knew that much. "I will always come visit, as often as I can. But often isn't going to be...as frequent as everyone wishes it would be. If my scent leads back here too many times, who knows what else they've created since that might be able to follow me."

She could remember one face among the many rejects--sad, alone, and terrifying. She wished she would have had more time to free them all...but in the end she'd been lucky enough just to free herself. The others...she just hoped they were still alive.

"But I'll be here. In spirit if not in body," she said hopefully with a smile.

Gita rolled an eye gingerly over her shoulder when her sister approached. She was the runt...she supposed it was only fair to include her in. She waited, casting a glance over to Kiana once she had a chance to catch up.

Kavi growled and yapped at his brother, prompting noisier play. The rooms were opening by the sheer power of will from their dad and there were toys to be played with! Scrambling into the closest room, Kavi reappeared in the doorway with a long plush fox with squeakers in both ends. He squeaked furiously on the tail, backing up a little to see which sibling would take the bait first.

"I know." Though he didn't particularly like it. Orion understood that Saya couldn't be there all the time, that her visits would be short and infrequent. At the very least she was here for now, and she'd continue to be there for him and the pups until they ether shifted, or it was apparent that they wouldn't. Either way he was in for the long haul with this. He loved them already and nothing was going to take this miracle of a family from him now.

Giving her hand a gentle squeeze he opened up the door to their room then, motioning for her to go inside. "I know you'll be with us. This is as much your home as it is ours, and you are welcome here any time you can come." It wasn't much, but hopefully he could offer her enough comfort to want to come home.

Though she was still pouting from being put down Kiana followed her sister, making a wide berth around the boisterous boys to peer into the rooms that their father opened for them. Wandering into one for a moment she sniffed around, tail slowly wagging at finding all of these new things. Noisy toys like her brothers had, and some tasty smelling bones to test out new teeth on. Looking to her sister she whined quietly, picking up a toy and bowing in a playing motion to her. Playing with Gita was much more her speed, she was too small to play with even the gentle Cannox.

Staring in wonder as the doors opened for their father Cannox jumped out of his stupor at the noisy squeaking. His first instinct to hunt this new thing was there as he wiggled his whole body and pounced on the toy his brother had, growling happily as he squeaked on his own end of the toy.
