Ripley -------------------------------------------------- Orion

At least the short walk from the diner to his home wasn't bad. Orion managed to keep Milo concentrated on where they were going, Alana kept up with Reed and Cadence, and the twins were still blissfully asleep. That would probably change once they got into his noisy home, but he didn't mind it so much. Opening up the door with a key he frowned a little as he looked around. The TV was on, but none of his kids were in the living room.

"Cannox! Gita! Kavi! Kiana! Where are you?" He called out as he looked around, motioning everyone else inside before he shut the door again. Saya had been home with them, but he knew that she had left probably fifteen minutes or so before they got home.

Ripley rolled her eyes slightly, but motioned for Alana and Milo to go to the couch while she went to turn on the lights and find a playpen for the infants. "They're probably sleeping off the sugar buzz their mother left you with. Here we go Reed." She pulled the collapsible playpen out of the closet and had Reed help her open it up before the twins went into it. They couldn't cause too much trouble here. "There. Aren't you two sweet?" She cooed gently at the girls, softly pulling them from their carseats as they sleepily looked around.

Roshan ------------------------------------------ Natela

Neither of the girls seemed too concerned about being pulled out of their car seats, cooing quietly as they were set down. Roshan yawned widely and struggled to sit up, grasping at the sides of the playpen. Natela seemed content to just lay back and watch the adults move about, sucking lightly on her thumb.

Cannox ------------------------------------ Kiana

Hearing their father call out Cannox dropped the toy truck he was playing with and turned to his siblings. "Daddy's home." He said matter-of-factly as he walked out to greet him. Mother had said to stay in their room until he had gotten home, and he was ready to be out of there.

Kiana was more than overjoyed though. She made a happy sound as she pushed past her brother to run up to her father, clinging to him until he picked her up. "Dad! Mom said to stay in our room until you got home." She explained as she snuggled up to him, peering curiously over to the new people. "Who did you bring home?" Aunt Ripley wasn't new, neither were Reed or Cadence, but she didn't know these kids.

Reed--------------Cadence

Reed had been here at least once before--helping his dad first get the place fixed up when his uncle orion had bought it. It hadn't changed much, but the splatter of toys around certainly said that it was much more lived in than the last time he'd been over. Putting Natela's carseat down he went when called....much to the annoyance of Cadence. The more experienced rocker girl glared daggers at Ripley for a moment, biting her tongue only because the number of kids far outnumbered the adults in the room.

"Place looks good, Orion. I'm sure they're up getting their pajamas on or something. Your mystery woman wouldn't leave you with sugar high kids." He teased playfully. He'd never actually met this woman who had his uncle so wrapped around her finger...but he couldn't blame the guy. He'd probably be in the same boat if Cadence would ever consider kids.

ImageImage
Alana----------------Milo

Though neither was in the mood to sit and be patient, both Alana and Milo retreated to the couch and clambered up. Milo was still in his superhero pajamas, rubbing his eyes heavily even though he bounced where he sat.

"Does this mean we get to stay up all night?"

"No," Alana hissed rather quickly, still nervous about what Itzal and their mom were talking about...and the fact that she was in his house. "We're just...kinda having a sleepover. Right, Cadence?"

The older woman was certainly caught off guard to be called out to for help, but she wasn't what Alana had been hoping for. She offered a shrug and a strangled laugh kind of sound. "Sure, sleepover, whatever you guys want it to be. Hey Reed, come help me get these kiddos something to snack on if they're going to be up this late..."

ImageImage
Kavi-------------------Gita

"Dad's home!" Kavi echoed over his brother, jumping over him almost leap-frog style to be able to claim 'first' on being out. But Kiana was small and fast and much to his chagrin Kavi found her standing between he and his father. He frowned for a moment, then piled in over Kiana to squash her in a leg and brother sandwich. Orion, however, was faster and Kavi found himself only hugging his father's leg...which was what he had wanted anyway, so mission accomplished.

Gita followed last, still holding her hair brush in her hands as she walked daintily into the room. "Father, mother didn't get to finish brushing my hair before bed. Will you finish it for me?" She asked calmly and politely, glancing to all the new faces rather harshly. For one so young she was certainly prissy already, and new people were one of her least favorite things next to yucky bugs and mud.
"I have been hidden, scorned, adored, worshiped, forsaken, coveted and banished more times than I care to count. But the one thing all those experiences cannot steal from me is the gentle soul I was born with, the kind heart I have molded, and the bright ideals for the future that have lit my way through the darkness of the past."

"Thanks Reed. It's a lot more homey now." Orion chuckled softly, looking down to his kids and kneeling to hug Kavi with Kiana. "Of course Gita. Did you get some dinner?" Poor Gita. He was hoping for her to come around to having more people around, but she always seemed just irritated with it.

Ripley only smiled back at Cadence before she scooped up Cannox, laughing as the little boy squeaked. "Hey there handsome. Were you good for your mommy today, hm?" She shifted him to her hip as she moved to the couch and flopped there with Alana and Milo. "I don't think any of you have met yet, have you?" She asked Alana and Milo, smiling to them.

Cannox wasn't usually happy about being picked up, but tired after his outing with his mother he wasn't complaining. He looked around for a moment at Alana and Milo, smiling slightly. "Hi. I'm Cannox." He never spoke much, but at least he could be polite. "Who're you? And I'm always good for mommy, Aunt Ripley."

Gently nudging the three over to the couch he smiled to Alana and Milo. "These two are Alana and Milo. They're going to spend the night with us while Uncle Itzal goes on a date with their mommy. I'm sure you can meet her tomorrow if you like." Orion explained.

"Okay." Kiana nodded, though clung to her father still, not particularly wanting to let him go. "We had dinner, but after you left daddy." Snacks sounded good, and Uncle Reed always knew where good snacks were.

Reed grinned, looking to Cadence as she called out for him before going to her. "Yeah, sure. You don't mind if we raid the fridge for the kids, do ya Orion?" The question was rather pointless, as Cadence reached around the corner and pulled him in.

Kavi grinned, playfully sticking his tongue out at his sister when she was no longer the only one getting a hug. He didn't really care, truthfully, he was always the one to try and stir up trouble just to try and get a rise out of his siblings. Gita seemed to be the only one he left alone for somewhat obvious reasons. Gita, however, nodded to her father with a rather curt smile.

"Yes father, mother made sure we all ate dinner with her before she had to go back to work." She was so proper...it was hard to believe she was related to either Orion or Saya truthfully.

Alana and Milo both grinned at the boy in Ripley's arms, Alana waved politely.

"No, we've never met Miss Ripley. I'm Alana, Cannox. And this is my brother..."
"Milo!" The younger interrupted with a laugh, leaning closer to get a better look at Cannox. He looked just about like the other kids in his preschool...maybe they were the same age! "Hey, you guys have any games here to play?"

Alana, meanwhile, looked towards Kiana and smiled. "You'll like my mom, she makes the best breakfast. I bet she'd make some for everyone is we asked her too."

Orion just waved off Reed's question, nodding to him. Of course - everything here he expected to be raided at some point. "That's good. Uncle Reed will get some snacks going though, I'm sure you want to stay up and play a while longer?" Hopefully. Even if Gita wouldn't play with Alana and Milo, he knew the boys would.

"Hi Alana and Milo." Cannox smiled to them, nodding a little. "We have a lot of games. You want to come see?" He wiggled his way off of Ripley's lap and paused, looking to his brother. "Come on Kavi, want to show Milo our room?" Technically it was mostly a free-for-all when it came to rooms and who slept where - aside from Gita, who had claimed her own room and rarely let her siblings in it.

"I do like breakfast." Kiana nodded, finally letting go of her father and climbing into Cannox's vacated spot. "Did you get to see the concert? We wanted to go, but mommy said we should stay here. It was very crowded, and daddy wouldn't be there to help watch us."

Ripley seemed more than content to sit with the girls, though she was watching TV while listening to them talk. They needed more interaction like this, and she hadn't seen any of them shift without meaning to in a while.

Orion moved then to gently sweep Gita into his arms, sitting with her in a recliner and taking her brush. "Did you have a good time with your mom then?" He tried to give all of his kids the one-on-one time they needed with him, but it didn't always work out so well. Kiana was particularly clingy, and Cannox so aloof sometimes he rarely spoke in a day.

Once in the kitchen, Cadence pinned Reed against the fridge with a snarl on her face. "What do you think you're doing?" she hissed. Reed blinked. Normally he was used to random outbursts from Cadence but there was something different about this one. In that, well, she normally wasn't so quiet about it.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean with you and the flirt out there. You're babysitting together and you look awfully cozy on that couch." It was clear she was trying to keep her voice hushed but her passion on the topic was going to get the better of her if Reed didn't say something to shut her down.

"Whoa, whoa. Ripley's in dad's band...given that it'd be like dating my aunt. Calm down, we're just getting to know each other better. We're going to be touring together...maybe you should get to know her a little too."

~*~

Kavi was all to excited to join his brother in showing their new friends some of their games. "Yeah! Come on, our room is the best!" More often than not it became designated as the play room, but the brothers did spend a great deal more time in there than either sister.

Milo slid off the couch, grinning from ear to ear as he ran after Kavi and Cannox. Alana, however, stayed where she was. She was caught in the awkward age where she didn't quite want to seem like a kid in front of so many adults. She was nearly a teenager, and she wanted the respect and responsibility that came with the title.

"We did see the concert, for a little while. Milo and I had to stay in the diner and out of the crowd, but we watched from the window."

Meanwhile, Gita sat like the little lady she was on her father's lap, closing her eyes as he brushed her long golden hair. "It's always nice when mother visits. We ate dinner together and played some; she made sure we all had our baths and read us a story before she had to leave again." The little girl opened her eyes, though now a small frown rested on her face. "Will mother be gone as long this time, father?"
