Vital sign check--head? Pounding. Limbs? Numb and immobile. Heart? ...beating. That, at the very least, he was acutely aware of. The creature focused on this steady sound as he lay limply against the fallen rocks that he'd landed on. He'd been faintly aware of falling--hurtling, even, towards a cliffside, and then blacking out until he'd awoken here.
Even so... the idea of staying awake seemed a bit daunting, at the moment. The creature's eyelids drooped woozily, and he brought a hand up to stare at, confusion barely registering in his eyes. This... wasn't his hand at all. Something was very,
very strange about this hand, about the rocks poking him in the back, about the painful headache that seemed to slowly spread through his entire head and down his neck. Fingers... three fingers. Three distinctly
odd-looking fingers.
So he was dreaming, then. He was dreaming, or something inexplicable was going on. No matter the answer, he knew he was in no shape to find out. In all honesty, he felt like he was dying, with how badly that headache was beginning to settle deeper and deeper into his skull. For now, he'd sleep. He'd only rest for a little while, and if he was still alive when he woke up, he'd figure all of this business out.
He was, after all, a human--surely any person walking by would be kind enough to stop and help him.
