Lumo, as their light source, was the first to go. He looked up at the pile nervously -- it was at least three times his height -- before placing his shaky paws on the rocks and pulling himself upward. Geysette noticed his quivering and called out in encouragement. "It's okay, Lumo! You can do it!"
Geysette decided to go after him. She gripped the rocks, which were rough and jagged and thankfully not bad for finding one's footing. She advanced up the pile while always keeping an eye on the ceiling, in case any more stones were to fall. Soon, Flareo had caught up with her, occasionally snapping his fingers to produce a flame so he could see where Lumo's light didn't reach. Last but not least, Ace simply flew right past them on his wings, alighting on the rocks at the top.
"Haha!" he taunted, sticking out his tongue. "You guys gotta do it the hard way!"
Geysette pouted. "Oh shut up, Ace!" she cried.
