The wind died down for just a moment before picking up again, but that was all Soriel needed to surge ahead and grab onto the life preserver. Mialarin breathed a sigh of relief, and began hauling in the rope.
She held out a hand to help Soriel back into the boat, and then her sister had rushed past her, shouting orders at Erisine and taking hold of the ropes. Mialarin spared a glance at the shore before she turned to join them, but all glimpse of land had disappeared. Her eyes widened. She hadn’t realized how fast they had been moving.
