Lalit and Dals emered from the forest next to the park. They had spent their whole day looking for a Mr. Wilson, with no luck.
"Dals, do you wanna stick around or go straight home?"
Dals tilted his head. He couldn't speak English, but he was practicing. His intangible squawks had begun to sound more human recently. He uttered a high-pitched sound, half between a growl and a purr.
"Why do you wanna stay here?"
He motioned to a group of animals on the other side of the park. They seemed to be sharing a cake.
"Oh. Well, let's go."
