It was unsettling to be outside all by herself. Negative rarely went anywhere by herself, since she couldn't orient herself too much. But now she could actually go out by herself, and she had a lot more freedom. Since getting to know the surroundings and the towns would give her a lot more independence, she figured it was now or never. Or, rather, that the sooner the better. She would've liked for someone to come with her for her first outing, but apparently no one was free.
She was wearing nothing too fancy, just a red t-shirt with a white, black, and red unbuttoned vest on top, along with blacks to complement the top, and finally, regular running shoes for her feet. She didn't have anything fancy save for that small, simple necklace around her neck: a silver chain holding a bronze bullet. She stood out with her pale skin and her silvery-white hair, especially with her stray hairs sticking out near the hair line. Her eyes, blood red in color, were also fairly obvious. Apparently albinos weren't all that common around those parts; especially albino humans. But hopefully, she wouldn't attract too much attention; she didn't do well with strangers, nor did she
want to interact with anyone.
Well, save for a single person. Or, rather, a single animal. On her shoulder was a small rat that shared the same colors as his owner: white fur and blood red eyes. Along his back was a line of messy fur that stuck out just like the few hairs on his owner's head. He also had a long pink tail trailing down his owner's shoulder. The little thing looked around curiously, with his ears twitching in many directions to catch as many sounds as possible. Sometimes he scrambled up and held onto the Negative's ear for a higher view point, which usually made her twitch; but beyond that, she didn't seem to mind him at all.
"At least you came along."She was just taking a stroll through the place when she noticed that huge banner over there, along with the booth and the crowd of people gathered by that booth. Two pets were behind it and recording something; being so new to the actual world, she couldn't tell what species they were. But she did notice that there was a prize to win over there, so it didn't matter, really. How about trying to have a little fun with this little event?
"What do you think?" she asked the rat on her shoulder, which looked around some more and then settled down on her shoulder again.
"I'll take that as a yes."Before actually going for it, she stayed near the sidelines and watched the others go, just to see how you played this thing. But it seemed fairly simple: you just went up there and picked a number, and then if you were lucky enough, your number would get drawn, and you would win. She wasn't much of a lucky person, but it was free, so, eh, no hurt in trying it out, right? She headed for the booth after it had cleared, and anyone could clearly see that she wasn't used to this kind of interaction. She fidgeted a little before finally picking a number.
"Hey. So, I just... pick a number, right?" She wasn't much of a numbers person, so she picked one of the few numbers she actually knew.
"How about 20?" She wasn't quite sure what she was supposed to do after giving them her number, but she'd seen a few people leaving the booth to go wait nearby, until the number would get drawn.
"Guess we just have to wait now," she said to the rat on her shoulder as she headed a little ways away from the booth, checking things out while the event was still going on.
