Hm! What strange entities these Chaos were, if Cuss and his abilities were any indication. But Kay and N kept their thoughts to themselves, waiting for the threat to be dealt with.

Sadly, Cuss was unable to retrieve any samples this time, so in the interest of knowledge (and also maybe possibly helping out), Kay went over to kill the proverbial pair of birds by clawing away some webbing from Safi, tucking a bit of the sticky stuff in a new container. Neither she nor N were of any use in the healing department, however, so they left that to the others.

They were also quiet as the group continued along, privately musing as to how Safi could be familiar with these halls. Not that it was any of their business, but that's exactly what made gossip so fun, right? And they needed a little break from all the excitement.

The two notails did perk back up once they all reached the lab, waiting eagerly for Zae to open the door. They even echoed her excitement at the prospect of being able to find additional goodies, though for different reasons.

"Excellent! OuO" Kay exclaimed, marching right through the door and past Zae. "Let's have a look, then, shall we? OuO"

Not wishing to leave the potentially foolhardy K-class to her own devices, N followed after her – though fortunately, she didn't get very far. Considering the area they were stepping into appeared to be some sort of lobby, there were a few different paths they could immediately take. Some of them seemed less... obviously dangerous than others, but this was a maybe-not-so-abandoned lab. Looks could be very deceiving.

A shattered wall, ringed with dried blood. A mysterious room full of blinking lights and electronics. The doors straight ahead, providing entry further into the lab.

"Where to go, where to go~ OuO" Kay hummed, staring at all three options before turning around to the rest of the group. "What do you think? Which way should we go first? OuO"

"Kinda doubt there's anything interesting in there, >:V" N piped up, nodding his head in the direction of the server room. "Unless any of you have some super 1337 h3xx0r skillz. Also we should maybe think about skipping the bonus looting and get what we came here for. You know, just in case anyone's still here. >:V ... You can come back later, Kay, >:V" he added, before she had a chance to object.

"Mmm... I'm sure there's probably something interesting in there," Zae commented as N expressed disinterest in what appeared to probably be some sort of server room. All kinds of data was most definitely stored in there. They may be able to find an experiment or two down here, but the data on all the experiments was likely on those servers. "But yeah," she continued with a wave of a loose sleeve, "I'm not the most trained on getting into other people's computers. Like. We could try stupid passwords like "password123" but I think the more surefire way to find something of interest iiiiiis-"

Her arm flung to the left, the sleeve of her lab coat gesturing to the path to the left where the wall itself had been shattered. "Over there, yeah?" Ahead of them all Ailou was sniffing at the floor around the broken wall, nostrils flaring as she sniffed heavily at the dried blood. "She said to grab whatever was in the containment unit, yeah? I'd say that definitely looks like something broke out of containment, so that must be the right way."

Cuss stepped through ahead of Safi, on guard with teeth bared in a grimace of pain and hopefully something that resembled intimidation.

There was nothing here in the "lobby" so Cuss relaxed.

Safi was anything but.

The seraphim stepped in a moment after Cuss relaxed and grabbed the bath of his shirt, her own arms pulled up towards her chest and fists clenched. This was the place, and clearly it had not been abandonned as long agonas she had hoped.
"What was Yepha thinking not monitoring - no, not taking action-!" She said with a lot more anger than she had during this mission. It was enough to make Cuss turn and look back at her.

"Uuuuh, maybe lets deal with that after we get this mission done. Try to uh... take notes?" Cuss offered Safi who only glared at him.

He looked back to the rest of the group and tried not to be nervous. Safi had been instrumental in beheading Merge, so he wasn't about to place himself on her bad side.
"Sooo... Yeah I would also rather go that way," He hated nerd stuff and he was done with surprises. Clearly something had happened in that lab area and was probably still in that direction. Cuss would rather get the drop on it than vice versa. Especially with a broken arm.

"But before we go grab... something to defend yourselves? There's only so much I can do with a broken arm, and I don't like any of you enough to die for you."

Humoring Cuss for a moment, N took a look around the room for anything that might be able to serve as a weapon. Mm... nope. Nothing stood out as being particularly useful, unless the creatures here hated cold coffee that much.

"Eh, we've got claws and teeth if we really need to use 'em. Plus we've probably picked something up from being down here for so long, so Kay and I will be fine. >:V"

Maybe. Hopefully. Notails weren't the strongest or sturdiest of species, and there were only the two of them... Still, if any potential threats had been cooped up in this lab the whole time, then they'd be way more susceptible to any diseases brought in from outside, right?

"Our friend here's got the right idea, I think," he added, nodding to Zae (names? who remembered those?). "So let's see what's on the other end, shall we? >:V"

Kay had already vanished into the shadows, having no use for such an extended conversation. There were answers to be found!

Sounded like they were all in agreement. Well, roughly. Safi hadn't stated she was fine going that way, but there was enough agreement. With a nod as Cuss warned then to arm themselves, Zae tightly gripped the bits of the crococat that she'd taken before. Better than nothing, yeah?

After giving Ailou a pat the two took the lead in venturing onward and into the containment facility. Almost instantly though Ailou began to take a few steps back, body lowering to the ground with her tail curled close by. Clearly something was upsetting her.

Once Zae began to pass by tubes it wasn't difficult to figure out why. They.... looked similar.  Dead, dying, turning to mush.... yeah...

Stepping back as a claw lazily lashed out at her, Zae frowned. "I ah... don't think these are going to be of much help. Job's a job though... should probably collect something to take back with us."
