Radar became a bit nervous as the Frightmare and Nightmare approached, backing up to huddle against Audrey's legs.
"It's alright, Radar," Audrey tried to comfort him, giving him a pat on the head.
"Well, we had better find Rayim if we're going to be settled in our house before midnight!" Jared said.
"Any of you interested in going to Market Street and checking out the cheeses on sale?"

"no thanks but we are headed the same way. alanna's house is near the market" elrond said The frightmare and neighed at radar in friendly manner. The nyghtmare fallowing the frightmare's example neighed at radar in friendly manner as well .

Radar remained nervous, despite the Nightmare's attempt to be friendly.
"Let's go, gang," Jared said to his family.  The group followed Jared down the streets, through intersections and into ever-widening avenues.  Progress was slow, due mostly to Radar, who was far more interested in staring at his surroundings than walking.  The young pup had never been in such a city before.  Audrey couldn't convince him to take more than 3 steps before stopping to stare!

Alanna stuck close to elrond clinging to his arm like small child. Elrond noticed this but he said nothing to her. He knew how much she hated being in large crowds.

After much slow wandering up and down city streets, they came to a wide, spacious cobblestone avenue.  The avenue was lined with numerous large stalls of products of every type, from wool blankets to brightly-colored eggs!  After roaming about and looking over the stalls for a little while, they found the one they were looking for: a large stall loaded with dozens of different cheeses.  Perusing through the cheeses was a pale young man with strange, white hair with red and blue stripes.  He remained oblivious to the group approaching him until Jared walked up to him and said "Rayim!"
He turned with a start, then grinned and said, "Hello, Jared!  I see ya made it!  Nice city, huh?  And look at these cheeses!  You should try some of these!"
"No thanks, Rayim," said Jared.  "We've been walking for quite a while, and we would like to get to this house we're renting before dark!"
"It took forever to get this far," said Jason, "because once we got in the city, we practically had to drag Radar every step of the way."
"The Sahound pup, eh?" Rayim beamed at him.  "Hello, Radar! How ya enjoin' your travels!"  Radar turned his head toward Rayim to look at him for a moment, before returning his attention to a large cart pulled by a Cobalt Tuskow and filled with clanging pots.

alanna couldn't help but chuckle at rayim's hair. Elrond  hushed her afraid that rayim might get insulted by her laughing. the frightmare rolled on ground laughing at rayim "your hair looks ridculous." the frightmare neighed

At the frightmare's laughter, Rayim turned and glared at him.
"Oh yeah!  Well you're hair looks..." he stared at the Frightmare for a moment, "Hot!"
Now Jared laughed.  "Rayim, this is Elrond and Alanna, and Alanna's critters.  We met them on the way to meeting you."
Rayim smiled a great toothy grin, as if he had never been angry.  "Hello!" he exclaimed. "Please to meet you!"

(Sorry guys! I'm back from my trip and ready to rp!)

Layton, Spike and Sulfur run up to the group after getting lost in the meat isle.
"Why hello there! You must be the guy we were looking for!" Layton came up smiling. "My name is Professor Layton, and these are my friends, Sulfur, and Spike," He says motioning to each member when he says there name.  
Sulfur and Spike smile at each other when they see the new comers hair.

Rayim beamed at them, just as he had at Alanna and Elrond.
"A Meji and a Ferrikoon!  Oh, I love Ferrikoons!" He exclaimed.  "I am Rayim, the Jonisons' guide to Evelon!"

"Why hello there!" Spike said happily. He loved having attention.
Sulfur looked at the exotic cheeses and sniffed the glass curiously.

[Zoophilos]

"You should try out these cheeses!" Rayim exclaimed eagerly to the Penticorn, seeing his interest.  "Here, try this creamy one - what was it called again?" he asked the seller.  Jared and Therese looked knowingly at each other.  As a tour guide, Rayim was the kind of guy who couldn't continue a tour from one point to the next without making sure the curiosity of everyone was fully satisfied.  He certainly wouldn't want to leave Sulfur behind without first making sure he properly and fully experienced the cheeses he was curious about!
With that, Jared gave up on getting to their rented house before evening.  Leaning forward to look, he asked, "What kind is this holey one right here?  It looks like a cheese we call Swiss back home."
Seeing that they weren't about to leave just yet, Jason and Audrey also began looking about, to see what other stalls were selling.  Audrey let Radar pull her down the street to a spicey-smelling sausage stand.

Sulfur took the cheese happily and loved this town.
Layton looked around and was having fun with all the humans.
Spike followed after Radar happily toward the Spice shop.

The Jonisons ended up spending a good hour and a half on Market Street, sampling various wares from all over Evelon, and conversing with Rayim and their other friends.  But eventually the sky began to darken, and they had to find their house.  So they gathered themselves together to leave, their backpacks a few cheeses and trinkets heavier, and Radar about five sausages fatter.
"I think we're all set, Rayim," Jared said to their guide. "Spike, Professor, we have to get going.  But it's been a pleasure.  I hope we meet again."
"Yeah," added Jason, "Dad will be working at the zoo, so you can go there to find him!"
"And Radar might want you to come and teach him some more words," Therese added with a mischievous smile.
"Bye, y'all!" Jared held out his hand for Layton to shake.

Layton grinned and shook his hand. "We have a long walk back to our homes. Very nice to meet you! I'll be sure to come back later. I had a great pleasure meeting you all!"
Spike flies around in the sky saying good bye's. "I had a wonderful time thanks to all of you!" Spike smiles happily.
Sulfur neighs to Moonlight, an the other penticorns farewells. "It was nice meeting you all! Hope to see you again some other time!" Sulfur neighs happily.
