Zahara was running as fast as she could. Not away from someone. She was training, not for anything in particulure. She just wanted to be stronger. Her owner was going to help too.
Zahara was a small Slynx, not much bigger than a Myu Reaper, but she wanted to be faster and more agile than most large creatures.

Today was the day Zahara was going for a hike. She was going to climb a mountain. Most people wouldn't call it a hike, but Zahara couldn't think of any other words for it. So off to the trail she went. The mountain was visible all over the surrounding area. It could be seen for miles around. As they approached the base of the mountain she saw a sign. Near the bottom she saw a little red dot. Under it, it said "You are here". At the top of the sign there was another dot. Under it, it said "Your destination is here". Which was quite disturbing because the dot was almost at the top of the mountain. She looked ahead at the looming peak with excitement, and possibly a little worry. She would try anything even if it seemed almost impossible.

Zahara started the huge climb with large bounds and leaps, now she walked silently and she was almost dragging her feet. She didn't care how tired she was, she was going to finish this hike. She decided it was time to camp for the night. She knew it might be dangerous, but she had packed for it anyway. She settled down and pulled some large leaves over herself. This was not going to be her best night.
When she woke up the sun was shining down on her face through a break in the canopy. She got up and stretched the stiffness out of her back. She wanted to start the new day with a good breakfast. She caught a rabbit and carefully ate it. She didn't want to have any blood on her in case there were any larger predators. She continued on with her long ascent.

Zahara looked up it happiness and saw the peak of the mountain. Her goal was within reach!! The peak was several kilometres ahead of her, but still, it's not too far. She picked up her pace, happiness lending her extra energy. Almost at the peak, she stopped for a break. She didn't want to run to the top in case in was a steep slope. Falling down a cliff at this point of her journey would be really, really bad. And falling off the mountain, in its fullest would kill you almost instantly. She walked slowly to the peak, the view was spectacular: The Vast Plains extended beyond her line of sight. The sun was just poking out above the plains below. The horizon was alight: many shades of red, orange, yellow, gray and blue. The sky was a rainbow.
Now the sad part: Leaving the beautiful sight.

Zahara had walked a bit after it got dark. She made a small tent-ish thing out of leaves, and spent the night in that. It was by no means comfortable, warm or enjoyable. She woke up early the next morning and started walking down the rather steep hill. Her back was stiff from almost three days of walking. She was tired, but she would not give up. She slide down a small hill and ended up in a bush, but at least it stopped her fall. She looked over the bush to see a sheer drop-off. That was close.

Zahara looked all around the area, looking for a direct route off the mountian. Nothing, except if she could fly or survive falling several thousand feet. Unforunately, neither of those was a possiblity. She turned around to find antoher route when she tripped over a small rock."Ow..." She got up dusted herself off the best she could, and started walking the other direction. Now she tried actually walking on the trail. The hiking was fairly long taking nearly eight hours to get down the hill. It still didn't take close to as long as the ascent. Zahara was much happier to be in a bed tonight. What she ws going to do in the morning, not even she knew.

Zahara got up that morning with lots of energy. She walked out of her small hut, and saw the sun coming up. The air was cool, but warming up. She had no ideas for what she was going to do today. She sat down on the wet grass and pondered all the things she could do. "Hmm..." She finally decided that today, after it got a little warmer was going to make a scavenger hunt for herself in the woods.

Zahara wanted to think of some things that might be kind of hard to find in the plains. The first thing she thought of was trees, but you couldn't really take a tree back with you. So the next best thing would be to take something off a tree. What else could she use? "Hmmm..." The list for the scavenger hunt goes like this:

1. Big Pine Cone
2. Round Rock
3. Piece of Very Long Grass
4. Something Weird  

The first thing she was going to try and find was the round rock, it seemed the easiest. And off into the plains she went.

After turning over several rocks which seemed to be round, or at least on one side. Most rocks seemed to be round on one side, and pointy on the other. "Stupid rocks!" She would get mad, or say things like this every few minutes or so. Zahara made her way towards a dry lake bed. She thought that because there used to be a lake there, that there might be some rocks that were round.  She stumbled into the bottom of the lake bed, and found a small round rock, it was about the size of a clementine. She put it into a bag and pulled out the list of things. She crossed "round rock" off the list. She checked the next thing on the list:

1. Big Pine Cone
2. Round Rock
3. Piece of Very Long Grass
4. Something Weird

The next thing she would try to find is the piece of very long grass. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

Zahara wandered aimlessly around on the plains. She needed to find a piece of long grass. The grass needed to be at least three feet long. She looked around, tring to find a deeper patch of grass. She found one that was quite a bit taller than her. She pulled down a stalk, and it was even bigger then she needed. She bit the piece of and folded it small enough to fit in her bag. She ran back to her house and unloaded the two things she had collected.

Zahara quickly pulled out her list again and this time, crossed off the word "Piece of very long grass".

1. Big Pine Cone
2. Round Rock
3. Piece of Very Long Grass
4. Something Weird

She decided that "Something Weird" would be the next objective. It didn't seem that hard, pine cone would be much harder. She set off into the plains to find, well, something. She ran for about an hour, straight out into the plains. She was hoping, just to trip over something interesting. She stopped for a few minutes to eat some of the food she had brought. She ate a small bit of the meat and packed up. She looked around, and something was glimmering in the distance. Something shiny was randomly in the middle of the field. Now all she needed to do was get to it.

Zahara trotted over to the shiny thing. It seemed to be sticking out of the ground at an awkward angle, to her it kind of looked like a nose. She went up to it and poked it with her nose. It smelled kind of oily and was cold to touch. She used her front paws to try and push the thing out of the ground. It wouldn't budge, so she put her back against it and planted her paws firmly on the ground. It moved a little, but not enough to pull it out. She went to find a stick, so she could try and use leverage to push it out. She found a stick, about a foot and a half long and went back to the thing to force it out.

Zahara put the stick in the small opening she had made. She put all her force against it to wedge the stick in. She put her front paws on the stick and pushed to use it like a lever. The shiny object shifted out a bit. She turned it over to see what it was. It had a small label, but she was not good at reading human writing, and it seemed to be a different language. The only language she knew was English. She could talk pretty well, but she needed to learn how to read this language. She wanted to make sure nothing was leaking out of the thing. She turned it over to see a large dent, and a strange looking liquid. She took a quick sniff and jumped back. It smelled horrible! Better not to touch that she thought. She needed to find a leaf or something to roll the thing over to her house with.

By the time Zahara had come back, the thing had developed a small puddle of the black stuff almost all around it. She had found a large leaf, probably blown in from one of the nearby forests. She placed the leaf against the thing. Now that it was out of the ground it was easy to roll. After walking and rolling for about an hour, she stopped to eat. She had brought a few strips of dried meat, so she pulled one out to chew on. It was crunchy, but tasted good. She went back to the thing to continue rolling back to her house.

Zahara arrived at her house later that morning. She rolled the metal thing around the back of her house and pulled the gooey leaf off of it. She went in and fumbled around in attempt to find her list. She found it crumpled in the bottom of her bag, looking rather ripped. She picked up the remaining paper and crossed "Something Weird" off her list.

1. Big Pine Cone
2. Round Rock
3. Piece of Very Long Grass
4. Something Weird

The last, and hardest was the only one left: The "Big Pine Cone". It would be the hardest because things that large were too heavy to blow in from the surrounding forests. She would have to venture far to find it.
