The Slynx's scavenger hunt had aroused the curiosity of a few of the dumb plains dwelling creatures. It was strange seeing a creature, or even a predator doing such weird and curious things. Like, who bothered picking up bits of nature, for the sole purpose of entertainment?
Nature just sat there and rotted, it held no entertainment value. Sure it might even be tasty, but if you couldn't use it to eat, sleep on or make a nest out of then it was pretty much worthless, right?

And that's why the little creatures found it so amusing, that was until the Slynx decided to head in their general direction. Then, as quick as a whip, the creatures darted back into their little underground burrows. Predators were predators after all.

Zahara  ran for almost a whole day. She stopped running only to eat, use the washroom and sleep. It was very tiring, but she was determined to find a pine cone. She wouldn't give up for anything.
She stopped later that night, hoping to start again early. The night was oddly cold, but she slept curled under her small bag, so it wasn't as cold. In the morning when she woke up, she was very stiff and it took almost an hour to stretch out her back and legs. Because of this, she started at a very slow pace. Later that day, the pace picked up, and the forest was within view.

Zahara was running at top speed towards the forest. Even running at the forest she couldn't see any pine trees. This is going to be harder then I thought. She ran through the tree-line and sat down. She lifted her nose to the canopy, and sniffed the air. There were so many new scents. So many more creatures then the plains. Then something else crossed her nose. Pine needles. She stuck her nose to the ground and almost immediately found a scent-trail. There a pine tree!

Zahara raced toward the smell of pine, but something smelled off. Another animal? It might have been a plant for all she knew, but it still scared her. She ran the rest of the way to the tree quickly, for she feared that scent. She felt like she knew it, but she couldn't put her paw on what it was. Then it hit her. She grabbed the trunk and clawed her way up. She had to hide.

Zahara heard snuffling and growling from the bottom of the tree. She couldn't see because of the branches, but the smell gave it away. There was a large Werecain at the bottom of her tree. They could climb trees, but she could climb faster. She was smaller and more agile then a Werecain. The trees in this part of the forest were closely woven together. She slipped quietly over an adjacent tree, hoping the Werecain hadn't heard her.

Zahara looked down to see the Werecain for the first time. It was a Guillotine Werecain. It smelled of blood, and death, if you can smell death. She wondered how she could scare it away. She stole a glance to the side a saw a partially broken branch. Perfect! She slipped over closer to it, and ripped it off. It wasn't too heavy and the Werecain was almost under it. She chucked the branch down at the Werecain. Perfect it hit the Werecain squarely on the shoulders, and bounced off. The Werecain looked around and ran off farther into the woods.

Zahara sniffed around a bit before jumping back to the ground. She seized a pine cone off the ground, and put it in her bag. She pulled out a very bedraggled list and crossed off Pine cone.  

1. Big Pine Cone
2. Round Rock
3. Piece of Very Long Grass
4. Something Weird

She had finished her Scavenger Hunt. The problem now was finding her way home. The Plains were easy enough to find, but once you are in the field it all looks the same.

Zahara headed towards the Plains, silently hoping she would be able to find her home.

When she arrived at the edge of the great Plains, she seemed to have underestimated herself. Even if the fields were all the same she could still see her house! She spotted the top of the roof of her small house and headed that direction. She waded through the tall grass, making a trail the way she had come. She got to her house before the dark settled in. She shook the grass out of her fur, and went inside to sleep.

Zahara awoke to scuffling at her door. Not daring open it, she looked out the window, but it was too high up to see in front of the door. She opened the door a tiny crack and all she saw was a bundle of puffy fur. Hmmm... What is it? She looked a little closer and realized that there was a twig stuck in it's head. Now very alarmed, Zahara proceeded to poke the fluff-ball twiggy thing. As her paw touched it, it spun around surprised and looked at her. Its so cute!!

The little thing turned to Zahara and hopped toward the door. C-can I c-come in, p-please? Zahara looked at the cute little thing, surprised it could talk and said, "S-sure, you can come in." She welcomed the little thing into her house and asked: "I am Zahara, whats your name, and err... what exactly are you?" I am Lorea[(Lorr-a), I am a Leplora. "Hmm... I've never heard of those before."

Zahara wondered what something like a Leplora would eat. Vegetables? Fruit? Grass? "Lorea, what do you eat?" The Leplora pondered the question and slowly responded. "I usually just eat grass, leaves and other things like that." "I see. What do you usually do during the day?" Not much usually. Okay, I am going to train. You can come if you want.

Zahara left Lorea at her house, making sure she could open the door, and went out to train. Today she was just going to run. She would run as far as she could and mark that spot in the grass. Each day for about a week she would do the same thing. Each time trying to go a little farther. This time she made it nearly half way across the field she live in.

Zahara had forgotten to bring her canteen of water, so it was a very hot, tiring, thirsty and long walk back to her house. When she reached her house, she took a drink from a pond, in the shade of the roof. She waded through the cool refreshing water, and swam to the other side. She shook out her fur and went into the house to sleep. Lorea was nowhere to be found. I wonder where she went.

In the morning Zahara was stiff and sore from the previous day's run. Today, she decided she would rest for a long run the next day. After running the day before today was boring and empty in comparison. Most of the day she stayed inside and organized, and reorganized everything in the house. It was very boring that day for Zahara.

Today was the day Zahara would run. She would run farther then any time before. She always ran the same strait line through the fields. That way, she could always tell if she had made it any farther. She would have to push down the grass.
