Once he Volfax reached the camp, he wedged the leafy branches into the frame he had built. He had built it against the side of a rock. It was nearly impossible for the wind to blow it away. He was using the wind to keep it held against the rock. He ran back into the forest to retrieve the remaining pile of branches. He arrived to find the pile spread out in a heap, he picked up five or six of them and kicked the rest back to his camp.

Volfax was starting to tire, but he knew he needed the shelter before he slept. He took the rest of the branches and weaved them into the structure of the make-shift tent. It was almost finished. He went out near the beach and found some more rocks. He dare not go onto the beach the waves would drag him into the water.

Volfax was sitting in his lean-to trying to stay warm. It was blocking the wind, and now the rain, but it wasn't keeping heat very well. He had put the leaves over the rocks so he wouldn't be sleeping on stone. There wasn't much to do, just hope the rain would stop, and that the lean-to wouldn't blow away. He ignored the wind and the waves and went to sleep.

In the morning, Volfax was wet the rain must have started blowing the other way. But, thankfully, the rain had stopped and the wind was no longer screeching through the trees. The waves still pounded the shore like angry mountain. He shook off and walked outside. The sun was shining and few clouds hung in the air. The storm was finally passed.

Though the storm was gone, bits of debris were scattered all around. He walked through the disaster as he made his way to the beach. He knew the waves were smaller by the sound of them, but they were still large enough to throw rocks or other debris. He looked to the forest, where some of the old trees were broken in pieces or falling over. He walked up to one of the fallen trees and moved some of the broken branches. The trunk was scored with scratches.
After a bit of scouring the forest, Volfax decided he would pay a visit to his tree. He knew it hadn't been broken, some of the branches had fallen off, but no worse than any other tree. He took his time climbing, he didn't know how sturdy the branches would be after a windstorm like that. He reached the crook in the trunk where he had made his nest. It was still intact and seemed a little more open, because many of the leaves had blown off.

Volfax was huddled in his tree, happy it was still standing. He was very sentimental about this tree. It had protected him from dangerous animals, it had kept him warm in the nights, it was his safe-haven. He wasn't going to self though. He had to go down and find something to eat, he hadn't eaten in days. The hunting would be sparse, but he could find something. He knew where the berry bush was, and it was marked. He only needed to find the scent marker and he would have food. It couldn't be that hard to find.

Volfax was climbing out of his tree taking his time to get down, he was in no rush. He walked into the forest still scattered with broken branches and even whole trees. It looked very different. The trees seemed to be in different places, like they moved when you weren't looking. He continued on to find his berries.

Volfax was sniffing around trying to find something edible. He saw a few squirrels, but he was too slow to catch them. He saw some leaves, but leaves are very unappetizing, even if you were this hungry.  He looked farther until there it was. His berry bush! A tree had fallen on it during the storm but most of the strawberries were still intact.

Volfax happily munched on the delicious berries. They were a little soft, but after a while of eating nothing, they were amazing. He picked up as many as he could that weren't rotten and stashed them in his bag. He pulled his pack onto his back and started to walk away. The sun was starting to set, but he wasn't far from his tree. So he didn't rush. The leaves were rustling, and Volfax started to run. He was tired, but if he ran he would get back faster, and therefore get to bed faster. He really needed the sleep, especially after the storm.

Volfax had just woke up from possibly the best sleep he had ever had. He stretched his muscles and went to grab some strawberries from his bag, which was hanging from the next branch over. Only a few remained, he had been eating them on the way back. They would last him a few more days. So that was that, he might need to get more food.

Volfax turned toward the ocean, where the waves had settled to ripples over the surface. Today he would scour the beach. He climbed down from his tree and bounded over to the hill to the beach. He slid down the hill of sand and rocks and landed with a cloud of dust, in the sand.

Volfax trotted across the beach, happy it wasn't destroyed from all the wind. He went down by the water, he wasn't worried about the waves today. They were barely more then ripples. He stumbled over a rock, but quickly regained his balance before falling face-first into the sand. Instead, as soon as his foot touched the ground, he pushed himself upward. It was a weird, jump-like action, but was successful as he landed squarely on a rock, about ten feet away.

Volfax hopped off the rock and ran down to the waterline. The sand was pushed back from the powerful waves of the last few days. All along the water, the beach was pebbles. This would be perfect for looking, and not just for the stones, for anything that happened to appear on the beach.

Volfax was still wandering along the beach, just looking around. There were some small fish jumping out of the water offshore. He wasn't hungry, though. He had eaten lots of berries this morning so he could stay out on the beach longer. The longer he was out here the better chance of him finding something interesting.

Volfax was rummaging through the small drifts of rocks and pebbles, when a huge wave came in. He quickly retreated to the high end of the beach. The wave crashed down along a good few meters of the beach. The wave had pounded away even some of the largest stones. And nearly had done the same to him.

After the wave Volfax ran along the coast. The waves were starting to die down and the beach wasn't as rocky as it had been in the morning. The sand was slowly returning to the beach. If Volfax wanted to find something, now was the time. He needed to stay attentive, so he wouldn't miss anything.

The beach was starting to get boring, so Volfax was starting to slack off. The rocks were all looking the same to him, so he was going to play a game. Dodge the waves. He had made it up on one of his first days here. It was very simple. Stay as close as possible to the moving waves without getting wet.

Though the game was very simple, Volfax enjoyed it very much. The waves, as he said before, were starting to die down, so the game was getting rather boring. He went back to his tree in the forest and decided to nap for a little while. He climbed slowly up the tree and crawled into the nest he had made. Volfax awoke several minutes later, to a bizarre noise. It was coming from the bottom of his tree. But this time he could easily see what it was.

The beast, yet again was back to torment him. It's paw was scarred and its mouth was pulled up into a snarl. This was the first time he had seen it in the daylight. Now that he saw it, it was clear what it was. The first few times, all he had seen was two glowing eyes staring at him. A huge Werecain, stained with the blood of the innocent. Normally, Werecain were actually rather nice and civilized, this one appeared to be rabid. Something needed to be done about this, and this time he would finish his work.

From his vantage point in the tree, Volfax needed to find a good way to pin the Werecain to the ground, then he could kill it easily, and without risk. He looked along the sturdy branch he was perched on, and the tree on the opposite side was dead, and cracked. It would be fairly easy to knock over, and would be heavy and waterlogged because of all the rain. He ran nimbly across the branch, and leaped for another tree, one that wasn't dead. He landed on a branch that was a bit to small, and lost his footing. He wrapped his tails around the tree to regain his balance.

Volfax held firm to the tree, and loosened his grip. He checked the branches on the dead tree. None were locked in any other branches, so it would fall easily enough. He got as close to the dead tree as he could, while still being able to reach the live, sturdy trees. The wind was calm, so there wouldn't be any problems there. He braced himself against the live tree, and pushed a little on the dead one. It moved slightly, so he stopped. He needed to wait until he could lure the Werecain over. He needed something that he could use as bait, so he reached into his bag and went through his small stash of food. All he had were some berries and a small slice of meat.

He unwrapped the slice of meat carefully, and threw it down into the clearing. It was exactly where the tree was supposed to fall. He had been hiding from the Werecain, and not until now had he been confidant enough to give away his position. "HEY!! OVER HERE!!", he called in the direction of the Werecain. It ran over and caught a whiff of the meat. The plan was working.
